I want to be clear that "smash night" is not at my place. I have a lot of space but I'm not using it for a bunch of melee setups, there will be 2 setups max. I'm not really interested in playing nothing but melee every Saturday. There are a lot of other games and activities going on here, SF4/Marvel/Mame/DDR/Ping Pong/Movies and just hanging out in general.

If your goal is to grind out smash bros. all night then this is not the right place to be and if that is what Massive is interested in then he is still welcome to host "smash night". I'm trying to move away from a dying game and play a games that is more relevant. Like I said there will still be a couple melee setups but if that is the ONLY reason you want to come over then you might not find what you're looking for over here.

Perhaps a round table discussion is in order...

Decided that we're gonna start doing bi-weeklies. Bi-weekly Massivesmash and then bi-weekly games at my place. Keepin' it fresh and not leaving anybody out.

Massive's got next weekend (17th) and then we will start rotating from there. Peace!

BTW does anyone have a CRT TV they're willing to sell/loan to me, preferably medium or small sized? My house currently does not have a CRT and I want to start practicing this game again so I can destroy RFrizzle

Actually my settings are set to 40 posts per page—the page you linked (334) showed posts from February 2011, not four years ago

Your post-per-page setting must be way lower than mine YOU CHURL

I have a large selection of CRTs as well honda.

They are sitting unused in the struggle-snuggle laundry room and Battlecat Colosseum.

too bad it's not going to happen near as good as it could be :( it can't handle more than two wii u tablet controllers at the same time :(

i agree it could be great, and i'm droppin the bones on the experiment

nintendo has never let me down, i know people bash on the overall experience of the wii, but i've gotten some great great experiences with it. even brawl! also XENOBLADE.

Cool, maybe after Massive Smash this week I'll look at Jace's and Massive's selections of unloved CRTs to see which one I'll adopt

Xenoblade will be one of those games that will be phenomenal on an emulator in a few years, haha.

I really need to go back and finish it someday. Thankfully they have a story catch-up thing in the menus that I can refresh my memory of game events with.

I would maybe buy a wii u just for that, FF:CC is the best

I want to fire up the gamecube version again. Anyone else also cool enough to hold onto their gba?

Oh and that compatibility cable ><

I don't even own a Wii, how do you think I'm playing it lol

(Warning lots of huge images ahead, and perhaps some minor spoilers)

These are the settings and resolution that I'm playing the game at. Obviously I could push it even further by turning on AA and upping some other stuff but that wouldn't be indicative of my Xenoblade experience

I also have a Wiimote and Nunchuck connected through Bluetooth, so the experience is pure and GLORIOUS

Alcamoth really stands out in the improved resolution because of all the clean lines, and even with the less than optimal textures it still looks godlike

The menu's don't scale the greatest but there are people working on patches to fix those, though I don't think I'll be using any fan-made extensions

I realize that I'm experiencing the game in a pretty ridiculously amazing way

And I thank the Heeeeeeeropon Gods

I (attempted) to emulate it originally when it was released in march, but the framerate would occasionally dip into the UNACCEPTABLE, so I stopped.

FF12 also looks pretty awesome emulated, albeit suffering from some lesser framerate stutters. Graphics didn't fix the cookie cutter story, poor character design, and uninspired battle system though.
