I'd love to see a collection of the modern Ninja Gaiden titles on Switch whether or not he gets in. The first two are great games and haven't been on Nintendo yet.

If Ryu Hayabusa gets in, are there any Ninja Gaiden games that have a reasonable difficulty? I've generally tried to play a character's game if they get into Smash, especially if I haven't already, but my only experience with the series has been Ninja Gaiden 1 on the NES, and that didn't go very well (and I hadn't even gotten to the part where infinitely respawning birds were perfectly positioned to knock you into bottomless pits yet).

I might have played one of the 3D games at some point, but I'm not sure. Would the 3D games be easier than the originals? I'd think so, but I'm not sure if this is one of those situations where the sequels are seen as being better than the original (like Mega Man 2 or Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and I should try Ninja Gaiden 2 or 3 (the 3D ones) instead of the first 3D Ninja Gaiden.

I don't think the difficulty is unreasonable, but if that's not your cup of tea... Well I think you're out of luck with Ninja Gaiden. Of the modern games, 1 and 2 are considered the best while 3 has mixed opinions due to changing some things in order to make it more accessible but kind of failing.

I guess you could try out 3 but even if you find that more palatable it's not exactly the Ninja Gaiden experience, I'd say.

I think the trailer will be involve of fighting darkhan and Galeem based of him fighting/killing demons in his more modern games

But maybe involving Dracula castle

What exactly do you suggest? The only thing I can think of is having Jaquio showing up just as soon as Simon Belmont defeats the Gream Reaper with his cross, and have Ryu Hayabusa "making the cut" just at the right moment to save Simon and slice Jaquio.

But honestly, I think they should make a more original concept, something involving Sheik and Greninja with an obvious Ninja theme, taking place maybe on a warehouse or a suspicious looking alley.

Also I'm hoping Ryu will be revealed with his classic blue outfit.

There’s a chance banjos update (5.0) more boss’s get added so will see what happens there

But if it does;’t he’s known for fighting demons and sometimes dragons so

Either the hands, rathalos, Dracula, and Marx are probably are suspects for his classic boss

I'd hope for a boss like Jacquio to come with Ryu just for extra Ninja Gaiden-ness but Dracula will do just fine as another ultra hard final boss.

Yeah, I only played the NES ones, so that's pretty much all the knowledge I have of the series.
And yeah, all of them except Fourside (which was based on the first level of Ninja Gaiden II) were based on the first of its NES trilogy.
And I agree, most characters get Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

I've always thought that a super cool reveal trailer for Hayabusa would be a recreation of the original intro cutscene from the original NES game:

Greninja and Sheik would replace Ryu's Father and Bloody Malth, but right as they would be about to clash underneath the moonlight, a third ninja would suddenly appear from the shadows and slash them both down, being Ryu himself. I think it'd be a great way to not only reference the series' roots and one of its most iconic moments, but to also pay tribute to how the intro of the first Ninja Gaiden is the first time many gamers ever experienced a cutscene, which has since become a major stable in video games.

So either that screencap was fake or taken out of context for a different leak. This is sure turning into quite the developing story as time goes on though. I just really hope Shifty is right in the end.

Yeah, I just caught this recently too. I hope his sources look into it and confirm Hayabusa will indeed be the next DLC character.

It aggravates me when people say Ryu would be a “boring” character or that he’s too vanilla. But I suppose there will always be haters. I really hope we get a reveal soon (either at TGS or a direct).
