What's Marth trying to crouch cancel into? If it's a grab, he's going to have a tough time timing it between the first two jabs, since he's only got a three frame margin of error, even if he has no hitstun at all. Between the second jab and the rapid jabs, though, he's got an eight frame margin of error, so he can probably do it then.

I'm always wary of double jabbing... my friend's Doc used to double jab before the dsmash a lot and even though my reflexes aren't super amazing, I could fairly consistently DI out and shield or otherwise get away from the dsmash. It's possible to escape single jab to whatevers, but it seems like it would be much harder since you get much less warning, which is pretty crucial since I'm pretty sure jab combos are almost never guaranteed.

the more i watch matchups of various char vs marth, it seems that marth is the absolutely worst char to jab against. I'm about to come to the conclusion that i should rarely if ever jab a marth on the ground

however, who is particularly weak to jabs? i mean, part of the reason CC is so strong with marth is you don't have to be frame perfect or anything to punish, your grab range will catch the opponent before they can get out.

But like in fox dittos you often see jabs , since they may be out of range for a grab, and dtild isn't instant death like in other matchups.

I notice tope said he liked these:
"I like to jab when an opponent is dashing towards me, also wd back jab"

Wd back jab seems to work wonderfully against opponents that are not airborne but that probably will be...so much less lag and it still cuts through attacks pretty easily..it may trade though.

however, i used to jab opponents dashing towards me in teh hopes of catching them before they can get close enough to CC into something useful..and then i either dash away or go immediately into a move. But against marth jabbing him while he dashdances seems too dangerous.

Anyways, i'm very curious whether anyone thinks it is worth jabbing against marth's dashdance or whether you should just substitute spotdodge all the time.

Jabbing is reasonable vs space animals, I find, because you can space to avoid their grabs and Shine (not sure about Shine 100% but it seems you can make it pretty hard to CC Shine if you space). I still wouldn't do it much because of the possibility of you not being at optimal range all the time (especially vs Fox because he's so freaking fast and messes your spacing by just being Fox if they're any smart at all) but it's still okay.

Marth, however, has hideous octopus tentacles living inside his fingers though, so it doesn't really work on him. Peach/Samus/Jigglypuff are also homo ***gots with Jabs for their own reasons. I think Jab is safe enough vs Puff when she's airborne, but grounded is risky. Peach will Nair you to high hell though; same with Samus. On the ground avoid doing it vs all three of them.

Other Sheik is a no-no unless the thought of being CC grabbed into a 0-90 Chain Grab turns you in on for some reason...
