QFT... looking forward to part #3!Lol, nothing like a good cliffhanger.
I think you skipped over a key part of the paragraph. How are you guys getting that Miis are deconfirmed by this interview? I don't think they're in myself other than possible background filler, but the interview was talking about the "pick up and play with motion controls and pointing" style of play currently only possible on Wii.
And as for why the other sites have it above Manaphy, it's because they link to the wii.com site for those countries, not us.wii.com. Maybe the others just weren't up yet.
And no, not really. They said a few things: "the Wii pointer and motion movements would not be a primary feature of the game. " and also "The Nunchuk controller can be used to play the retail version of Smash Bros. Brawl, but it’s not highlighted as the main controller. ".Now that I think about it, shake smash is a possible control scheme, semi-contradicting what Sakurai said.
Lmao!Holy crap, 700 names in the credits? They better make credit shooting into a full fledged game with power ups and bosses.
Awesome.Volume 3 is out discussing Online Play and Stage Builder:
http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/ssbb/vol3_page1.jsp
Sakurai: Another reason we incorporated the Stage Builder was simply to make it possible for players to get more out of the stages. In Smash Bros. Melee, for example, Big Blue and Poké Floats were known as challenging stages to play.
Iwata:It’s not that they were hard per se, but there were so many formidable obstacles that caused the unexpected to happen.
Sakurai:Exactly! (laughs) This time around, however, we refrained from using many stages like these. The backgrounds might change dramatically, but most large walls and ceilings were removed since we were aiming for simple, easy-to-maneuver stages. Yet, part of the appeal of the Smash Bros. series is that the unexpected can happen on more extreme stages. It would feel wrong if these challenging stages were missing from this title, so we decided to use the Stage Builder as a means of filling the gap.
Iwata said:Also, I think that fundamentally, we shouldn’t try and separate the casual gamers from the core gamers.
Beer is good. Do not question its greatness. Are they drinking beer in those pictures?
Quite the opposite, actually. He writes the English entries on the Dojo, whereas obviously the interview was conducted in Japanese and then translated to English by someone else.
Ooh, neato. According to the "Versus, Share, and co-op" part of the thing, it says you can play teams with anyone. Unless I'm reading it wrong, Sakurai says that you can play teams and be on the same team with someone you don't know (IE: not in the same room.)
64 people is the limit as shown on the Dojo screenshots.Iwata: Those in the top five might feel pretty good about themselves, but what happens if you’re number 15,398 in the rankings?
I wouldn't care if I was ranked 15, 398, 345th. I still would have infinitely preferred a ranking system over a COMPLETELY anonymous system.
On that note, is there a limit to the number of wii friends you can register? Because if there isn't, I guess I'll just have to register everyone on smash boards, so I know who I'm fighting![]()
I find that very difficult to believe since plenty of people bought the first two Smash games, neither of which having any kind of online mode at all. I guess those people who didn't have friends to play with got by somehow.People are NOT BUYING THIS GAME because the online is so bad.
Like I said, plenty of people bought 64 and Melee without ANY online. The past two games have proven you don't even need any online mode to be successful. You seem to be making the assumption that everyone felt entitled to and expected an online function (granted, some people did), and would therefor be disappointed to discover it hasn't been executed to their liking. However, I think it's much more likely that MOST people (remember, there are people who don't even know of the DOJOs existence who are going to buy this game) probably didn't realize/expect that Brawl would have online capabilities. If you didnt have any friends who played smash bros, and you found out the only online this game had to offer was 4 player random matches with items turned on and no ranking system, would you buy it?
Yes. Totally. Entirely. Absolutely.People are NOT BUYING THIS GAME because the online is so bad. If you didnt have any friends who played smash bros, and you found out the only online this game had to offer was 4 player random matches with items turned on and no ranking system, would you buy it?
