Ok, so I was postponing this for like a month now because I wanted to include some other recent videos I have but I lost some and a friend has the rest. So I decided to finish it with what I had, some footage is really old but still good in my opinion, so the newer videos will be included in a future combo video (if I actually get to it).

So here it is, my 1st combo video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eWveN0z60w

Watch in high quality (recommended), and of course I already know its not really a "combo" video as it is a gameplay video but that's how everyone names theirs.

I look forward to your comments.

Lol, the song... originally I had like two more choices but ultimately I went with it because Im a Bleach fan (the manga/anime) and the song's lenght was perfect for what I had.

But yeah, I see what you mean 'bout the song.

Watched it without sound because I'm at school. You've got an amazing Link :0
Your speed is great, your spacing is right-on, and you had enough ATs in there to keep your opponents guessing for sure.
I'm going to learn a lot from this video. :)

Only one question: Does that Kirby ever use the Gonzo combo on you? It didn't look like he was going for it, and frankly when I played Kirby I got my butt kicked by that.

lol good vid
it was a little slow at first, but it picked it up at the second half
bleach theme ftw
Yeah, the 1st part has some really old videos. I knew that song would be a love it or hate it song.

Lol, yes and no. Some footage is from when he picked up Kirby and he didn't know about it (basically he did his version), and when he found out he'd do it sparingly because hes cool like that, of course those parts were not showed for obvious reasons (it's not a Kirby combo vid). He's not really that good at Kirby though, he's a Snake main. (Though I have a hard time playing against his Kirby now).

i'd assume so, gonzo comboing isn't very hard to do at all, nor does it take any prediction/DI reading <_<
but this is a Link combo vid, so we're not gonna see any Kirby lame comboing Link ^^

Yes, true. I was just wondering.

Otherwise really good Link.

And I'm guessing the Snake player was your Kirby friend as well? XD

Really liked the bomb-grab DAC around 3:00

I tried practicing it in training, managed it like once or twice, but doubt I be able to actually do it in actual play anytime soon.

Yep, he's a really good Snake player, we go even everytime we play but I gotta work twice as hard to win. Snake is so broken but I have a great time playing Snake, it feels so good to emerge victorious on this matchup, DI is key.

I got it there because the scenario was set but it's really not that practical to do in a serious match. Just SH with a bomb, drop the bomb just before you start falling and DAC as soon as you get to the ground and that's it, it's really not that hard.

I loled at the triple down smash. Very good stuff. The presentation in the video made mine look like S**t. Great work. Although, I have to admit some parts felt too long, but it's only a small gripe. How long did take you to edit?

Yeah some were too long but I left them at that because I wanted to include everything till the kill, but I see what you mean.

Once I got all the scenes I wanted to include it took me like 5 effective hours, choosing the music, matching the video, getting ideas for the edit, etc. It really took me like 3 weeks overall but I worked on it like once a week.

I left out other videos I wanted to include for various reasons though.

Good stuff.

Good execution on your AT's. I still can't bomb slide or triple draw, so I'm jealous.
I encourage everyone to learn how to bombslide. It's really underrated. Read the Q&A thread FAQ, my guide to bombsliding perfectly is in there.

I really like to bombslide, it's not just flashy it's really useful for me. Not only as a means to attack but as a spacing tool also.

It's very funny; in the Wi-Fi waiting room, I decided to start practicing reverse bombsliding instead of ISJR and I do it on the very first try. I've yet to successfully reverse bombslide again since yesterday. D:

But yeah, the spacing this AT provides would help me a lot. Gotta master itt.

Bombslidings really not hard once you get the hang of it. Offline, I can bombslide perfectly, guaranteed, no fake outs, ever (though I wish SOMETIMES a fake out would come out, you have no idea how frustrating it is to want to a reverse fakeout -> RAR and have the bomb being thrown the wrong way). Online, they get messed up sometimes, but I can bombslide online pretty consistently too.

Bombsliding is useless online. By the time you use the dam thing, you don't need to anymore. Bombsliding is really only good for spacing. When you recognize that spacing you use it. Unfortunately because of lag, by the time you recognize and input the command, you don't need the spacing anymore.

Lol, I guess you're right. I don't do much online though so that's probably why I use it frequently.

Awesome Link and awesome combo video. I learned a lot since I'm planning on maining Link now. Keep it up.
Thanks Boom. Well, if you want to main Link you gotta work hard to win your matches. You need to know that, otherwise you could get frustrated. But see, playing as Link is way too much fun, you can get creative and kick as$ if you know you character well.

It takes courage... to main Link ya know...

(for Swordplay... it takes snowballs)

Thanks Legan, but seriously... who would rehearse combos and have their opponents stage them... that'd be so lame.

They're not really "combos" as they are highlights from my (recorded) matches, that's why I guess the proper name should be gameplay videos or montage videos but it doesn't matter really.

And thanks sMexy and Smashplaya, for your comments.
