Japan gets Brawl on January 24th (correct me if I'm wrong). There will almost UNDOUBTABLY be secrets released then. My question is this, will you be able to fight the temptation and ignore the spoilers? My current plan is to stop coming to any kind of Fourms the day of Japan's Release. If I will be able to at all, I honestly have no idea. Thoughts?

I thought there was a thread on this recently but I didn't see it. Anyway, I will probably at least look into it a bit and see who is in the game as unlockables. The only part I really don't want spoiled is SSE, anything else I don't really mind getting spoilers.

Ehh.. it really doesn't matter at this point. If you will be following up on updates and gameplay videos, then you really shouldn't be missing too much that the game will show. In my opinion, they are releasing far too much information on the Dojo website.

I dunno, I would hope most people here wouldn't be douche-bags and would write "Spoiler warning" or something. I'm not too concerned about anything being spoiled, though. Brawl isn't exactly a huge thing to have spoilers for.

I'll still try to avoid anything, but it won't be like Harry Potter where I avoided the internet like a plague when it came out.

I actually want some spoilers. I want the complete roster as soon as possible, for example, and a list of stages (and stage impressions, and so on) would be nice as well.

SSE spoilers? Those I could do without. Same goes for event matches (if they're in, I believe that they have yet to be confirmed) and pretty much everything else single-player-ish. In particular, I don't want to see "this is how you unlock Pichu/Roy/Doc as a IC-ish team!" I'll unlock them all myself.

My problem is that even threads marked as spoilers may or may not contain spoilers I care about. Oh, well. I'll probably be spoiled...

I will only get check the full roster and the new game modes, and then leave the smashboards for 17 days. No real reason why, I just hate the feeling you get when people are talking about a game you are really hyped for, but you cant play it. kinda like what happened with me and the wii.

Although I'm sure lots of people will play the game in different ways and for different reasons, calling single player pointless just seems unfathomable to me. Personally I expect it will be the main reason I play at first, at least until I can get some people over. Saying multiplayer takes precedence over single player is one thing, but actually calling it pointless is way over the line.

Being given information that is intended to be given out before release is completely different to finding information that the developers only intended you to discover yourself by playing. Like how book publishers will give you a basic idea of the story of a book, but won't tell you how it actually ends. I would say that Mr Game and Watch being playable in Melee was an example of one of these types of information - he was clearly intended as a surprise.

I am going to have to try to stop looking at any forums or site that may give things away, although I expect I will be unable to avoid everything, or will just cave in and look anyway. It depends when it comes out in Europe or Australia, really. The waiting is what makes it so hard.

I am avoiding all forums from the day it comes out in japan till I unlock everybody when it comes here. I don't wants them spoiled. Dunno how i'll do it but I will.

I think. we should make a thread. where you can type in anything. untill we get enough posts that we can shut down anyones thread that dosent say "WARNING: SPOILERS". or we could get someone who can already do that to do it. It'd help. alot. I think Sakurai will release a big chunk of the info before then. if not all of it.

Of course, we may not believe whoever leaks the roster. In fact, it may have been leaked already. There's no way to tell, at least that I can see.

There was one person who was going to "keep us updated" and give us information over time but that thread was closed quickly.

I have my doubts that the real roster has been leaked yet, and who knows, it might not even leak! Unlikely, but I am surprised at the lack of leaks for this game, and it may continue to surprise me.

Me, i will see the icharacters, but i will try not to see the ending to SSE, and everyone that says they"will avoid this forum", they wont.

And the DOJO is one big, everyday spoiler so if you wish to not see spoilers, you MUST avoid the DOJO also.
And face it, a game this big will be everywhere, not just on this site. You will need to avoid ALL gaming sites (except maybe console specific ones), avoid gaming websites, avoid youtube(some jerk posted everything about the Harry Potter book in specifics before it was even released 0_o and spoiled it for me, but the thing was, his post was in a random Godzilla video), and you might have to avoid friends, because if they as into this game as you, they will see spoilers.

I don't argee with single-player player being pointless as this single player will be a more fun experience than the previous Smash games. All the rest are fine with me.

All of Melee's secret characters were leaked before any release, anywhere. Remember Ganondroff? I distinctly remember seeing pics from before the game went gold, even, as they contained that typo, which, obviously, was fixed in the final disc.
