I've gotta question why Issac's not already in the game. The Venus Adept deserves it for having such a successful RPG series. The fact he has almost no negatives in his favor (besides having more support here in the West then in Japan and the silly arguments about people claiming he'd just be another fire emblem anime swordsman) shows he's got a huge shot. Also, trust me when I say this, but at first, I originally wanted him because of his yellow hair and scarf, but he has far more potential to me now after looking at his games and seeing some of his abilities, so don't worry. (btw, you guys can put me on your supporter list for Issac even though I have been posting in this thread ever since Issac's Smashified came out. Sorry I didn't mention that sooner).

Keep in mind that the poll has a lot of unlikely 3rd parties like Arle Nadja, Cloud and Jibanyan.

If you take out all the 3rd parties (minus Snake) of the poll, Isaac's position is not really that bad.

The Yokai Watch hype is already dying in Japan, really?
Damn, that's a shame. I wasn't exactly interested by the games, but seeing Pokémon having a good competitor was nice...
Now I fear The Pokémon Company will begin to make the games stagnate again.

Anyway, there's a lot of characters from this "Japanese top" that I don't see making it in the game because their results are really different (understand: they're not popular enough) in America and Europe. Isaac may have a good shot, after all... He's pretty recognizable by the (hard)core community and we all know his potential, here.

Because let's face it, if they wanted to bring characters that almost the whole audience of Smash Bros will recognize, they will have a tough time. Even the remaining Mario characters (except maybe Paper Mario since he's another form of Mario) are not that iconic.

On another topic, does someone remember who's the talented user who made the Isaac Mario Maker Costume?
I failed to find it again.

I can only hope that the revealed character is not of the series of any other current DLC character, or from the Mario series. Nothing personal but I feel that they have enough representation. I'm not sure if we can expect a video or a crude model yet tho.

I highly doubt that. I think its a returning Melee stage if anything. It'd be neat if Venus Lighthouse could come later alongside Isaac, but I can't see Isaac being the first new character to announce. Whatever this stage is, its either a returning Melee stage or its a stage that will be released alongside a new character. Wolf wouldn't come with a new stage (maybe Venom), so if this is a new stage, it'd probably be something like Gangplank Galleon. My bets currently are on Kongo Jungle Melee, though.

I know what you mean, I hear people still want a unique third-party, isn't that exactly what Ryu is? And we just got him.

I'm completely fine with Ryu being the last third-party character, any other third-party choice can wait for the next installment. There's still plenty of first-party choices that people have been clamoring for for years and Shovel Knight of all characters just wouldn't sit right to be quite honest.

Like I said - I want Snake back of all third party choices now, and if I were to have an indie - I'd probably go with Shantae. But, Isaac's still #2 in my varying top ten.
