Probably because of the K. Rool mii outfit people are thinking Isaac has a better chance of making it in now, so they're dismissing him as a "generic sword fighting literally who anime" character. Bandana Dee is getting a lot of hate too. I've only really been keeping up on this topic and 4chan though.
Can you provide a link to a thread, please? I'd be interested to see what sort of intelligent things the people there have to say.
If I recall correctly, that's not the first time we see that kind of behavior coming from Gamefaqs...

As i said in the K.Rool thread, haters of K.Rool and Isaac are child's play compared to what i had to endure with the Roy haters before the June 13th leak.

Someone who said they'd close their account if Wolf didn't come out on Friday (and then reneged on that bet). And someone who is pushing for DragonBall Z Goku to be playable.

Anyhow, I just thought of yet another gameplay mechanic that could be used for Golden Sun 4...Fusion Dragon. Just like how Saturos and Menardi fused with each other, perhaps Matthew and crew could be granted a similar ability half way through the game. Obviously, this would grant immense power--but at a price. The Fusion Dragon's appearance and ability could depend upon which two party members fused. A Venus dragon could be on all-fours and have a rocky appearance, a Mars dragon could look very similar to Karst and Agatio's dragon forms, a Jupiter dragon could have a more bird-like appearance, and a Mercury dragon could have a fish-like appearance.
For instance, if Matthew and Karis fused together, their Fusion Dragon's ability could be a mix of Venus and Jupiter powers--and have a large body with big wings. If Matthew and Reif fused, their Fusion Dragon's ability could be a mix of Venus and Mercury powers, and have a turtle-like appearance. If two Adepts of the same element fused, their powers would be the same, but stronger. So you have the choice between power and diversity. Whatever Djinn the pair have equipped could also influence the Fusion Dragon's abilities.
BUT, as Kraden puts it, being turned into a dragon "requires tremendous power". Once the two party members separate, their HP and PP will be reduced to 1, and all their Djinn will enter recovery mode. The fused party members will automatically separate after a set number of turns, or at the end of the battle. The player can also manually separate the fusion. If the Fusion Dragon is KO'ed mid-battle, both party members will be downed.

Honestly since they already had a party of 8 anyways for Dark Dawn, I'm kind of hoping the fourth entry goes back to playing as the parents and saving the kids from being kidnapped by Alex. It's the only way I can really think of them effectively reviving the series, making Isaac/Felix the main guys again, and providing fan service while still being able to continue the story from where it left off. Too many things were missing in Dark Dawn and maybe getting the adults perspective can help put a deeper understanding of why so Weyard changed so much.
I'm all for new characters too but I think the series has been gone for too long to effectively do that. Just go back to the classic characters for now, and then if it's successful you can start a new story with new characters. Although GS4 realistically needs to provide a proper ending to the entire series and answer every cliffhanger question, imo.

Additionally, given that Felix's whereabouts are unknown by GS3, it would make sense that a roaming ship might find out information regarding his activities. As far as your first opinion regarding the children getting captured, I would rather have a main party containing most of the adults following their story, with smaller segments switching perspectives to the other parties as they converge and reunite for an eventual finale.
Given that if a Golden Sun 4 were ever to be created (which a Smash Bros. appearance might allow to happen), it would most likely be the last game in the series. I wouldn't want any characters snubbed into having a mostly useless role in their final outings. That's my two cents, anyway.

Ugh, one the two reasons I don't visit Smash threads in Gamefaqs and 4chan. It doesn't help that the latter community is xbox huge and hard to keep track of. Hating everything just because the self-righteous trolls tell you to doesn't make you a paragon of justice.

We've survived this long. The Wolf fans were furious when Roy got in and Wolf didn't. I remember someone coming to the R.S.T with this "Open Letter to the Roy Fans" from the Wolf crowd basically asking the Roy fans to now support Wolf, since they're both Veteran Characters. Meanwhile K. Rool gets a Mii Costume along with Inkling. Inkling and K. Rool are among the most popular and wanted characters. Isaac is up there as well with them and we don't have a Mii Costume. The Inkling crowd I think is pacified with the knowledge that Splatoon is so damn popular that if Inkling doesn't make it in Smash4, they have Smash5 to look forward to (and I think at this point Inkling is guaranteed a berth in Smash5).
Of the top 3 contenders, Isaac, K. Rool and Inkling, the average player has written off both Inkling and K. Rool because of Mii costumes. That leaves Isaac. Internet people need hate to survive. Therefore, they hate on Isaac, seeing him as the only one who really has a chance to win this damn thing and get that coveted berth. And since Isaac is, in there mind, crushing <insert character here>, Isaac must be hated upon.

Well I mean yes and no. The increase in hate means that more people think Isaac genuinely has a chance at becoming a character. But at the same time, Ridley and K. Rool also got a lot of hate too and have yet to show up as characters (both assumed to be deconfirmed now).
I've been hopeful but pessimistic about Isaac's chances, and honestly as happy I was for the Shulk fans I can't help but feel a little bitter that Xenoblade got repped before Golden Sun despite Golden Sun being in the exact same situation during melee/brawl. All we can do right now is be optimistic about things, and hope that Sakurai will finally listen, but I'm bracing myself for yet another disappointment. I've been vocal about wanting Isaac in smash since my join date (so I guess 8 years now, jesus christ) and have been disappointed by Sakurai's judgement (no pun intended) time after time.
On a lighter note, Isaac fans have grown louder and louder as the years have passed, and with over 400 pages of fan discussion on his inclusion, constant support from fans and constant high rankings in these polls I do think Isaac genuinely can get in the game as DLC. I feel like we've all done a good job of getting our voices out there and I think Isaac has a lot more support than we all think. So we can only hope Sakurai finally hears us this time and puts him in!

I'm just glad you guys don't have to go though the same amount of hate that us Roy fans did from the April 15th leak all the way until he was revealed (2 months of dealing with haters almost non-stop). I don't think any character got as much undeserved hate as Roy. The only characters that come to mind that also got undeserved hate are Ridley and Waluigi.
You guys have come a long way. You survived the AT massacre as well as the Mii Costume apocalypse. Things are looking good for Isaac so petty hate from haters shouldn't bother you guys that much.

Who watched the final of SGDQ so awesome, bummed out there were no Golden Sun runs. Do you guys know any GS speedrunners?

Golden Sun would be horrible for SGDQ/AGDQ. As much as I would like to see it, most people wouldn't like sitting around for a 40 minute intro where nothing much happens.
Speedrunners include Werster, who is a well known speedrunner, and TL Plexa. I'm currently learning how to speedrun Golden Sun, but I don't know if I'm dedicated enough. It's a lot to learn with all the RNG manipulation, and I'm horrible with menus.

RPG's in general just aren't very suited for speedrunning. Too much dialogue and menus and the RNG would never be reliable.

Another problems with Rpg speeding isthey rely on using the mechanics inventively for becoming overpowered very quickly. Often times this leads to battles becoming extremely one sided and boring to watch. SaGa are.prime examples as they get the right Monster and just steamroll the game. It's interesting to read the method, but it's dull to watch.

I do like Mia to be shy and gentle as well (which is why Mikabe Sesuna is my favoirte artist of the comics, since Sesuna captures Mia's image perfectly for me).

I mean, SGDQ ended earlier with a 5.5 hour 100% run of Chrono Trigger, and it was epic as all heck, and picked up another several hundred thousand dollars in donations just for that run.
Golden Sun actually has a decent enough chance. Between intentionally skippable sections and RNG manipulation there's enough to do that a runner would have to be doing a lot of optimization, which is the hallmark of a good RPG for speedrunning.
