Can you not meteor recover out of the raptor boost?

Well, such as meteor recoverying is in Brawl (up-B immediately after getting hit by it)

This seems reasonable. Grab releases into the air are pretty infamous for making the released character immobile for a while. This is how Yoshi has a chaingrab > spike combo on MK and is the reason why Yoshi is the only neutral match-up for MK.

Make sure you test with a human, though. That's the only way to make sure that the character can't move after the grab release before you can RB them.

EDIT: From the video you can tell that you definitely need to test it on a human. The Ness can definitely move before you can RB them. You can tell because the CPU DI'd before you hit them and you can't DI during a grab release until after you can move. And if they can move, they can airdodge.
Seems like Mario would be able to avoid it too.

My advice is to get someone over to help you test it with a human. It's the only way to find out which characters this would work on for real.

After a bit more testing it turns out ness, luigi and mario can all escape it. I'm not sure about kirby, and it appears wario can't. I wish i could edit titles :/
You can. Just click on "Go Advanced" when you're editing the first post on the thread.

EDIT: Also, if you don't have access to a human player, try setting the CPU to level 9 on the Training Mode character select and set the CPU to "Run". That should give you at least slightly better results.

this should work as grab release>knee works on wario too :D
good work face

Edit: Could it be possible to grab release>Dair near an edge for an easy spike/launch?

Edit2: Dang it, when I tried it (release grab>raptor boost) the cpu or DI'd towards the stage so I couldn't do it or he grabbed the ledge just before I hit him causing me to SD
(this tested on a wario in training set to cpu:stop)
this doesn't mean it doesn't work yet though

Edit3: release grab>Dair did work for me :D but it couldb be escapable

I'm very sure that Wario Can't escape. if you set another him to control in training then do the grab realease, but airdodge as soon as you can as wario, then do the RB at the same hight i did in the video, you'll notice that the RB hits him at a higher hight than he can airdodge, if that makes sense xD

Gotta keep in mind too, that even if they can't air-dodge it, Raptor boost has some of the lowest priority in the game. If they can pull out any air move before you, they're probably going to either cancel the raptor boost or just hit you.
