For the past year and a half, I've been searching on, and off for jobs. Up until I turned 19, and 2 months, I had the luxury of qualifying for SSI due to being a full time student, and living under the same roof as another disabled individual receiving the same benefits. However due to not currently being in school, and not currently having a job, despite my constant efforts, I've been given a two-weeks notice before I'm kicked out of my home.

I've practically made it my job to SPAM applications at everywhere conceivable within my level of experience (Which is none.), on a weekly basis. The only thing I haven't done, is pester the hiring manager of every job within a reasonable distance of my home on a daily basis for a position, I've done everything else conceivable. I'm currently applying to an agency to help me find work, but so far nothing's turning up.

So with two weeks to go, and no job, and definitely no promises of work, what does I do? I really don't want to end up homeless. The only thing I really have going for me are food stamps, at the moment, and I'm pretty sure being homeless will only make applying for jobs more difficult. Especially with everywhere resorting to electronic, and online applications that don't allow answers such as "I'm homeless, plz hire me so I can ****ing LIVE." =[

Also; inb4 flames/trolling/etc. I'm practically a magnet for them, so I might as well.

Or act cocky, and egotistical, whilst secretly being Fox's butt buddy.

Any sort of networking or connections you have, use them now. If you have friends or even just acquaintances, ask them if they can help in some way, or if they know someone who can help.

I don't really have any useful connections. I've been pushing my employed acquaintances and friends to help me out, but all they can really do is give me advice that hasn't worked, instead of being useful and pushing their hiring managers to give me a shot.

Not having job experience sucks.

Best thing I can say to do atm, is not be picky. Most grocery stores such as Bi-Lo, will hire you if you follow up on applications. Go in and see the manager, and be pleasant. You'll most likely get a job quickly.

My girlfriend does a lot of work from home jobs. She makes around $300 per month as the moderator on one of those get paid to do offers sites. She also works as a operator for informericals, like Cash for Gold. Basically, if you dial the number on the screen, you get an at home worker. Her pay isn't great, but a few sites I have done paid around $10 per hour.

Haha, what a coincidence. I'm in the exact same boat as you... however, I have already been kicked out of my housing and now I'm couch surfing. It's not fun and I hate being a burden on people but it does give me the opportunity to look for jobs... I've been doing this for almost three weeks now. I'm super desperate for a job too. :(

All I can say is keep searching for a job... fill out as many applications as you can and don't be afraid to apply for jobs that are in entirely different cities or counties (the furthest job I have applied to is two hours away on bus because I don't have a car -.-) You'll get a callback eventually! I hope I do too.

You really should jump on as many agencys as you can, if anything they'll be connecting you with jobs and it's a lot more efficient than running around stores. Good Luck dude.

I've applied to literally every possible grocery store, convenience store, mall store, and fast food joint within 5 square miles of my place. I expanded my search to 10 square miles around 6 months ago. Maybe 20 square miles will work? =\

I've applied to every place with a now hiring sign/add within the last year and a half regardless of distance from my house.

For the last 6 months, I've also applied to literally EVERY business I've walked into, regardless if they are hiring or not.

The only thing I haven't done yet is going through agencies. I was supposed to last month, but the person who was supposed to get me into some of these agencies has run into some troubles himself, so I'm going to taking it upon myself to research/apply myself. I'll be attempting to get myself into the "Youth on Your Own." program tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Also to the person talking about wants/needs, and specifically useless material possessions: You seem to misunderstand my position. You're not within a months notice of being on the streets/couch surfing.

Also; if I have to, I will find a job in another city/county/state, but it's my goal to stay within town.

As a closing note; I find it exceptionally irritating when someone else beats you to the punch. On two separate occasions, have someone I know **** blocked me from a job. I don't speak to them anymore.

Craigslist.

remember my child, the internet is the answer to ALL your problems.

PS: when it comes to jobs, its ALL about the job interview. you could be an absolute moron, but if you LOOK intelligent and you make it SEEM like you would know what youre doing, you could have any job you want as long as youve got balls (why do you think this would is run by bull****ters?).

I've been interviewed at about 40% of the jobs I've applied to, and I've been rejected because I lack job experience.

I forgot craigs list completely. Ty for the reminder.

First, don't panic. This leads to subtle changes in behavior that are not good mentally or physically. It also can make a person make irrational decisions.

Second, find a place that you normally wouldn't apply to, Stop and Shop, Walmart, and Home Depot, is nice and everything, but they get applicants all the time. And plus, you would be very disposible.

Try finding an office building, or a company to be hired by, ask for various tasks whether it be filing, research work, ect. This method is good because you can show personality and how you can be a benifit. Show that you can be usefull with a good atittude and wants to improve with what they do. You cannot do this at Walmart, nor Home depot.

Or if you are innovative and have a car, make a taxi service, or errend boy. Charge money by task.

I'll brainstorm for you and get back with more options.
