I need to be more, "in your face" and be able to take leadership, but that's just not who I am. Can anyone help me?

I used to be a big pushover... Really timid and didn't really speak up. When a leadership position was put on to me, I realized that if I want things to happen or get done, you gotta work for it. So I grew some balls, got a voice and did my part. =P Gain respect so that people would want to follow you... or at least know what you want to get done.

And though the posts above me may be a bit blunt, I would have to somewhat agree as well. Sometimes, if you want something done right, do it yourself. You may be the only one that knows what "right" is. =P

"Nice guys always finish last."

That ought to get you jump-started.

Pretty much exactly what Asaph said, haha.

Being a perfectionist will literally force you to want to do it.
Being a cynic will just make you feel like you want to do it.

I'm more of a perfectionist myself.

Truley modest people don't admit their modesty just to let you know.

See your problem is solved already!

I guess I have this problem too. But then again, it's sort of modest saying you are modest. :/

I think he's talking about modest in the sense that he stands back and lets others take initiative and positions of leadership, rather than taking them himself.

That's being passive not modest.

If you keep up these habbits then people will walk over you your whole life. Get agrresive and go for it!
The key is balance. You can be nice, kind, and helpful while still maintaining a strong leadership character. You can be both Nice and Nasty

The best thing I can tell you is to get :mad::mad: Determine what you want, then follow through with upmost sincerity. :):):)

compare how you do something to how someone else would have done something, and youl find that youl greatly approve of your method better (since u are u) and that in order to get things done right u need to step up and do it

Yes, cynics ftw.

Also, although this is generally associated with being a cynic, I'd like to note you should be cool and be a misanthrope as well. =D

Funny.

I suppose I'm passive as well. It's just not part of me to be the one who bosses people around. It seems like I need to be somewhat of a jerk if I want to get these kinds of things done as a leader.

If you're going to be a cynical misanthrope, at least put yourself to the "Modest test"

Borrow money from a pessimist. Pessimists won't expect it to be returned. That way, by not returning it, you get to be the misanthrope, the pessimist gets the result he thought he would, and you get away with being "not modest." Problem solved =)

Nah, I think I've met you before, and you just need to be...louder. Like, more outspoken. Be loud and proud about what you're serious about and don't worry about being too good. I'll stop you myself if you end up being a mini-Inui. Sliq...

The world is set up for balance. With out those kinds of people nothing would ever get done. If it's not in you to take charge then don't force yourself. Just don't limit yourself either. People can ALWAYS do what ever they put their mind towards. Also being a jerk has nothing to do with being authorative. There is a big difference.
