Ashley puts Baby Ashley on Sarah's lap and then lays down next to her.
Sarah: Gunther... (Stops writing and stares into a corner) He is off getting groceries. He'll be right back.
"Okay!" Baby Ashley says. She tugs on Ashley's hand. "Dada gonna come home soon!"
Sarah laughs as she errs on a pen stroke. She crumples the paper and throws it away. She angrily pouts, but calms when Baby Ashley makes a noise.
<Not sure. I have an idea where Ashley obsessively tries to revive Gunther, and either succeeds somehow or finally comes to terms with his death>

I was originally going to reintroduce him as Daxter the otsel after he has a conversation with the narrator, since their personalities seemed similar, (I was shocked by the coincidence that Daxter used to be a human) but did not like some of the ideas about Daxter, so I cancelled it. >
<Who is Daxter? And if he's not dead, how could they find him?>
<Daxter is Jak's partner from the Jak and Daxter games. He is a cross between an otter and a weasel, used to be a human, and has the frequently-used 'butt of all jokes' air about him. The primary repulsion (though there were others) to the idea was that he borrows from the cliché of the 'overconfident-but-under-couraged' archetype. For the other question, we could weave it in at some point. I would have to feel about the situation.>
"But I want him! It still hurts..." Ashley mumbles. Baby Ashley whimpers in agreement.
Dust Bunny: I know... (Pats her back while Sarah curiously pulls a strand of Ashley's hair)...
The screen pans to Baby Ashley, who had somehow woken up and saw the scene. She holds up her stuffed bunny. "Mista Bunny says you can eat it!" she says.
Alan looks between Mista... Mister Gecko and and Mister Bunny.
"It okay! Mista Bunny is awways nice!" Baby Ashley says. "But, I wanna talk to Awan in secwet...."
Dust Bunny: It's alright, Alan. Mister Gecko isn't real. He won't hurt you. I'll make sure of it. (Holds Mr. Gecko)
ShyHo: Uh, Juliana is alright, but can you get Lenna’s breast pump for us? It’s upstairs in our bedroom.
"Mista Gecko won' hurt you! But I weawwy wanna talk to you about him in pwivate..." Baby Ashley says.
Dust Bunny rolls his ears in.
Dr. Goomba Tower: On it!
"Why Mista Gecko call you cwate baby? Why you get put in a cwate?" Baby Ashley asks.
Alan:
... Don' know! Alan need... (Breaks into indiscernible wailing as he crawls to look for Dust Bunny, who is holding Mr. Gecko)...
Baby Ashley grabs Mr. Gecko and gives it to him. "Who put you in cwate? What Mista Gecko say?"Alan:
Alan: Mista Gecko?... (Squeak)... He says he didn' see good enough. Alan don' wememba cwate.
"Dat no good...Da people at da pwace you came fwom must be weawwy mean! How dey tweat you there?" Baby Ashley asks.
Alan: Alan don' wememba... Only wememba Mista Stowk. He nice.
"I no want Awan to go back dere....Want Awan stay fowever!" Baby Ashley says.
Dust Bunny: Are you all done? (Red is in orbit around the guard rails of the stairs when Dust Bunny grabs him and sets him back down.) Well, are you?
"Pwease wisten now! I want Awan to stay fowever..." Baby Ashley says, holding his hand.
(Lenna uses the breast pump)
Dust Bunny: Ummm... Red, watch Alan. We'll be right back... Ashley, I don't know if he should stay. I mean, 'Mista Gecko this,' and 'Mista Gecko that...' He won't listen when we tell him it's a toy. If that's not a liability to his survival, I don't know what is. He might have better odds under professional care.
"It okay! We can take cawe of him! You awweady take cawe of me, so he shouldn' be too hard!" Baby Ashley says cheerfully. She then gives him puppy dog eyes. "Can he pwease stay?"
Dust Bunny: Ashleyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... Yeah, that's what I said... I know... We think we can take care of him... We can fill those out at home though, right?... Okay, we'll do it... Alright then, I'll have your check when you mail those... You too... Bye... (Hangs up)... It's not official yet.
Baby Ashley interprets that as "He can stay." "Yayyyyy! Tank you Dust Bunny!" she says, smiling widely. She runs over to Alan. "You staying!"
Alan: Yay! You hea that, Mista Gecko? Home!
Ashley comes downstairs, her hair ruffled from Sarah stroking it. "Did you just say he's staying? I thought it was only for three days..."
Dust Bunny: (Facing away from Baby Ashley, he mouths, "I don't know!") Psh, of course we can. I mean, he's always so easy when he doesn't have a (mouths, "Cuckoo") toy telling him everything.
"We also need to figure out if he can age..." Ashley says. "And is he even magical?"
Dust Bunny: I don't know how to answer the first part except by saying that time will tell, but the other is easy... Alan, do you use magic?
"We could try figuring it out by comparing him to Baby Ashley, who can't age. Baby Ashley isn't able to learn how to read, write, use the toilet, dress herself, or anything else that children in her age group start learning. Her speech also hasn't developed at all since we got her, and she hasn't improved her ability to walk. She's stuck in one mindset forever," Ashley says. "Can Alan learn to do any of these things, or is he stuck the way he is?"
