Meanwhile, in the vortex world...

(Paper Mario turns in some coins to the owner of a holiday inn)
Paper Mario: Okay, Peach! I ordered two separate rooms for the both of us! I know this place ain't much, but considering that we're hiding from Master Hand, I think we could stay here. (Paper Mario then turns to the owner of the holiday inn, who is a Goomba with a muzzle and thick eyebrows)
Paper Mario: Say, do you know how you ended up in this strange place?
Holiday Inn Owner: I was restin' in my inn when a vortex mysteriously appeared and sucked me and the entire place in. And I was pretty darn mad, yessiree... Real bad for business...
(Paper Mario turns back to Peach)
Paper Mario: Mama Mia! We got some information! My guess is that if they are forcing us to participate in the Smash tournament, Master Hand may be gathering an audience...
