Let me rephrase it.
Barney is a runner on a track. He is the fastest one, and always wins first place ON THE TRACK. But, the trophy FOR THE TRACK RUN goes to another person. Why is that so?
(i think that was better, eliminating tricky possibilities)
There is a logical reason for this, and it is not a trick question, but it is a lateral-thinking question.
