In the past month and a half I've been inactive and I'm enjoying myself a lot more. Have a much better social life, more friends, girls :], plans everyday, grades have improved, on a normal sleeping schedule , attending more parties, and just everything has been better. I was too involved in smash, and I don't have time for it anymore. And I'm saving money, missing school less. I'll be around every once in awhile but I'll be pretty inactive.

I'm wondering how you can spend so much time on smash that you didn't have time for your social life :p.

Also, if being a social person and going to parties is what you enjoy, you made the right choice and should definitely keep doing it, but it's not a necessity.
Everyday I see people complaining about how they'd love to have a social life, but to be honest, if you are really enjoying how it is right now, why would you want to improve your social life?

EDIT: Also, balancing your social life and video games is very easy, no need to immedeatly quit it all in all.

Now are you seeing why I don't practice 24/7?

Wait till college, LOL. Then you'll understand even more.

just balance things.

You can normally have these things and video games if you learn how to balance them.

Just sayin'.
I do it.

Xzax I'm sure you could go to random tourneys and still **** you don't need to practice/play everyday to stay good.
Sounds like your doin good man <3

you can just not go to tourney every week , just go a tourney once or twice a month, and practice with your "practice partners" once a week maybe.

and yet have everything balanced : grades, social life , stuff you do and smash.

PS: I am a smasher that goes to tourneys and place good(top 4) in my "country", yet my college GPA is 4.00 A and I am on my 4th year.

What is this whole community mentality of "giving up" smash?

It's like, the dumbest **** ever. Honestly, there are periods where I don't play for a long while, but I never say OMG I'VE GIVEN UP/QUIT. There's always a time when I'll pick it up again or consider going to a tourney, I don't like to see things in black and white, that just makes things silly.
