I've never come across this and not sure if anyone else has ever seen this but I just discovered YL can DACUS. It's not as major as in Brawl but it totally shocked me lol I was like wtf I just slid while upsmashing. Try it out. Sprint but when you go to attack, immediately upsmash. This can be useful in tech chasing people I'm going to feel ******** if everyone already new about this though lol

Trying to get this to work with Fox, but Fox slides already from his jump cancel usmash, so it's hard to tell.

Ya. I can usually do Jump Cancel Upsmash but this makes him slide a bit further than that. Not much but enough for me to spend tomorrow looking for uses for it

You slide a good bit with this. I really don't get any horizontal distance out of a jump cancel usmash.

Well, this has been around a while, but only with a few characters. I didn't know yl had it, but falcon has the best distance, i think.

Next thing we know, someone's gonna discover how to do the Matrix in Melee. On a more serious note, The discovery of Young Link being able to do DACUS makes me wonder what else we haven't discovered yet in Melee.

can you also cancel it with an up-b? i guess i'm kinda thinking the same moves you can do out of your shield lol

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with Up-B but you can use the usual up-b ledge guard. Dash and up-b around 8 frames before falling off the edge to mimic Bowser's up-b ledge grab. If you wait to long it could end in a SD. FAIR WARNING!

TRC I forgot to tell you. Reflex beat me in a tourney on Sat using Bowser the YL fight was fairly decent and close. I think it might have been a 2 stock? But he straight up ***** my Falco at Yoshi's...yeah he hasn't gotten worse.

You run, tap A then usmash really quickly. The difference between this and the jump cancel usmash is that the jump cancel doesn't slide whereas the dash cancel does.

I think so, anyway.

That IS the difference. It could be you need a certain type of the game. The slide is what makes this different from just a simple dash to upsmash.
