Yup. And there it starts. Me, a 19 year old young adult who has learned a lot from the past. I basically have to start my life, all by myself next year around May. And to be honest, I'm kind of excited. I don't have a job yet, but I am a full time student at college and I get paid through the school for keeping a decent GPA. So by next year the money I get from them, which will be around $6000, I'm going to save it and start working before the year is over. My mom just told me that after the year is over I AM FORCED TO MOVE OUT, but not by her will. Because I will not be listed on the lease anymore (I live in apartments) so unless I pay half my check to the landlord I can stay here, that's not happening. I believe that once this chapter of my life starts, a lot of things will change very fast. I am very excited and kind of scared at the same time. I am prepared though for a couple of months which will help me out for the first couple of months. I have a car and $6000 for the first 2 or months to find a job. I'm going to have to move away from the state I'm living in (NY), because it's too expensive to live by myself. I'm looking to live in Scranton, PA or around that area. It's a nice and very cheap area to live in and if I can find my career job there (CIT related) then I'll be for a couple of years.

Crazy though how In about a year I won't be here. Wish me luck!

You're not alone.

I also have to move out in July 2010.

All by myself, alone in this world. Considerably less rules and restrictions though?

**** yeah.

WTF kind of dickwad landlord requires someone's child to be on the lease in order to live there? o_O

But anyways, good luck to ya, it's a tough transition but it sounds like you'll be fine =)

Good luck man.

PROTIP: Learn to cook. Ramen and sandwiches really get old fast.

^This.

Also, start looking for jobs early. I don't know how the market is in your area; it kind of blows over here. $6000 isn't a lot.

And avoid credit cards. Avoid them like the H1N1.

Definitely learn to cook. Eating out will drain your cash, and eating crummy foods will drain your energy. Learn to cook simple healthy stuff that will keep you going and keep your energy up.
