That stops you from playing characters? Every smash game I've played I change characters since I can't get use to them in the new game lol.

I prefered Fox in 64 -> Prefered Marth (and later Samus/Captain Falcon as Marth got overplayed) in Melee -> Snake.

I like how I don't have to play the same character (changes things up a little). :D

I'm glad I main a relatively important character. If Peach were to ever be dropped, I'd be screwed. I can't play any other character nearly as well as I play Peach. If you're the type to become dependent on a particular character like me, I'd reccomend against maining any iffy newcomers (R.O.B., Wolf, Toon Link, Snake, Sonic, Lucario)

R.O.B. seems safe. If G&W returned, R.O.B. will as well, most likely. Toon Link seems safe too, but he'll probably be revamped in the next one. Snake and Sonic are probably safe, unless you can think of a good reason they'd be removed. Wolf and Lucario are the only ones truly at risk here I think, especially Lucario. Mewtwo was more popular in his time, and he got removed. Lucario is a fad in comparison. Wolf seems like a useless addition, if there's anyone to remove, it's him.

I couldn't help but post in here after seeing the name of this thread. Since nobody seems to be getting the joke I just felt like pointing out that this thread is part of a GameFaqs fad.

I would much rather enjoy Brawl than think about SSB4, but I'm sure that Snake and all the other characters in Brawl will return for the next game. Unlike in Melee where we had characters like Dr. Mario and Pichu ( Who had "Don't return for Brawl" written all over them ), characters who I think most of us can agree were useless additions, Brawl doesn't have anyone like that.

I go to Gamefaqs, the Melee boards are decent. The Brawl boards are pretty bad, but it's still not as bad as the Nintendo Forums.

Anyway, yeah, only characters that'd they'd removed would be clones, though the only "clone" that is close to an actual "clone" is Link and Toon Link since all the other clones aren't so much clones anymore.

they could add a new mewtwo with a dif moveset
wolf is a villian, he cant be removed now, its like removing ganon, u just cant at this point
rob/g&w are gaming history for nintendo, they wont be removed

I Pwn with Pika and Luigi and I played them all games, they won't be dropped, also I play Sonic, PUT HE IS PWNOLICIOUS, he won't be dropped.

I don't think he'd even be dropped. Kojima and Sakurai had been friends for like ever. Kojima had originally asked Sakurai to put him in Melee but they were already too far into the development. If he was dropped itd be a big slap in the face to Kojima.

Which one? There are at least two Ryus in the game universe--Ryu from Street Fighter, and Ninja Gaiden's Ryu (Hayabusa).

I felt that a large premise of the project was that this was not a series that would continue indefinitely. After all, it wasn’t possible to keep on increasing the characters that are entitled to take the field in Smash Bros. And even if you try to utilize new familiar characters that resonate with the fans, you can’t get each and every gamer to be happy. Just like its predecessor then, we decided to design the game as if it was the last one in the series.

Nowhere does it say that Brawl is the last Smash game. He says he wanted to make Brawl AS IF it was going to be the last game.
