I don't think we ever thought of this, and it's bad.

Well...I feel like a douchebag now...sorry, Hypno.

Actually, I'm not sure if I even did anything....Well, my bad anyways...

I highly doubt having 64 active friends will be an issue.

You didn't do anything wrong, it was just the guy with the Kirby that was white in his avatar (god I am lazy). But I accept your apology anyways.

But yeah, let's hope for more then 64 friends, but don't get your hopes up. Here's a question though that we can think about.

I have a Wii but I only have Wii Sports and Zelda (I only bought it for smash, mario tennis and Mario Kart, none have came out). On other online Wii games how many friends can you have? Examples would include... Strikers, Pokemon, etc.

I still would love to hear more about Dylan, who he is, and how I'm like him though.

Umm, the only one here who is upset is you. It's a sign of insecurity claiming that I am and pretending like you're not. I merely tell it how it is, it is not anger, just impatience with people such as yourself.
Is having impatience for "idiots" like Hyno a sign of maturity? Is spouting whatever floatsam happens to be drifting around in your mind considered "tactful?"

Man, you gotta love hypocrisy.

It might for more hardcore players.
64 is quite a bit. Portions of those friends will likely go inactive and be able to be replaced. Also, I plan on playing with people in person a lot, too. The limit stinks, but it is big enough to manage.

@Hypno: I was a forum lurker for a while and saw many of Dylan's posts. They made me cringe everytime I read them, they were so dripping with negativity. Right now you're kind of giving off this huge negative aura, or it might seem like it to some people, but it's understandable to not be satisfied with everything.

It will work for me, I just think others may have a problem with it.

All you need to know can be found here (WARNING GRAPHIC YET HILARIOUS CONTENT):
http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Dylan_Tnga

And people think you're like him since you're pessimistic about how brawl will accommodate the professional scene. But you're nowhere near Dylan's level of f*gottry as far as I can tell.

Who made that?! I'm assuming this is a 4-chan Wiki-parody.

I'll tone down the negativity, I just hate seeing people in denial about the game. It really grinds my gears.

And I understand the dylan thing, I check out the link. He's an elitist, I like the way he plays, but not his attitude. I hope I don't come off like that. I never say anything like "the way you (casuals) play is stupid" I do however say that it is not logical to play with items assuming you are trying to determine what player is the most skilled. I speak with logic, and I'll tone it down. I'm not a pessimist, I'm just honest. And let's be honest, we all know that online play sucks and would be way better with rooms. ROOMS HELP EVERYONE.

Do you want us to feel bad about every single point of the game? From what I've seen, you dislike too much.

You made a topic about being "uninterested" in SSE.

You made a bunch of posts about "online sucking".

You made a topic about the limit of friends list, like 64 is too small.

Holy crap. I know it's a speculation, but always dwelling on the negative aspects of the game is what nobody likes. We aren't in denial. It's just we know the game ain't perfect, and are content with what we have. You can say the same thing for Halo 3 online. "Oh, Halo 3 doesn't have "this" and that" online, so it sucks".

Do you really think you are going to have 64 active friends anyway? That is of course unless you randomly start adding anyone who you see.

Making topics and a bunch of posts about every single negative point or dislike isn't going to make anyone happy. yes, again, we all already know most of what you said. it's like you want drag everyone down into your negative hole. i don't.

also, no, I'm fine with online and I don't think it sucks.

Does it lag alot?
Is it cheap?
Is it broken?
Is it empty?

Yea. Whenver we see one of those red flags, then you can say it "sucks". I don't care about ranks/names/ and what not. I just want to fight people online, and thats what it does.

Quick question: I was going through a few of the updates, and when did Sakurai say that you could only have 64 friends, probably somewhere obvious, but I couldn't find it.

Somewhere on the Wi-fi update; it's in a picture, but it really hasn't been confirmed yet, I don't think.

1. Online tournaments will not replace social, real tournaments. It just won't happen. Because of this, the 64 friend limit does not really hurt in that aspect. There might be some online tournaments, but I don't expect to see anything official online.

2. Like Buzz said, 64 is a lot of friends when you think about it. Yeah, you could probably quickly throw together a list of 64 people when you randomly add people from this forum, but many will probably be inactive, or not on the skill level that you want to play on.

I don't really think people will have an issue keeping less than 65 people they want to play online with regularly. I don't plan on playing every person I can get in touch with and leaving them on my list, and I figure other people will do the same.

I see it like an MMORPG, many of which have limits on the number of people you can have on your list of friends. You can add 100+ people in most games, but often, you only really talk to or play with maybe 10 of them actively, even though you could add 100 people in a matter of minutes.

More would be great, but this is not a game breaker for me by any means.

You made a topic about being "uninterested" in SSE.

So, I wasn't interested, big deal. I never said it was bad.

You made a bunch of posts about "online sucking".

A lot of people have. Because it does, and you know it does. This is the 7th Generation, you and I both deserve better.

You made a topic about the limit of friends list, like 64 is too small.

A lot of people would say 64 is too small, I personally think it is.

Holy crap. I know it's a speculation, but always dwelling on the negative aspects of the game is what nobody likes. We aren't in denial. I talk about many positive things about the game. Read the character discussions to see threads I've created about Peach. Check out what I've said about the ICs and other characters. I love the stage builder, but I don't love everything because I'm not in denial.

Do you really think you are going to have 64 active friends anyway? That is of course unless you randomly start adding anyone who you see.

I know 15 people in person that would be ACTIVE. And a ton of people here who I am dying to play.

Making topics and a bunch of posts about every single negative point or dislike isn't going to make anyone happy. yes, again, we all already know most of what you said. it's like you want drag everyone down into your negative hole. i don't.

If you guys all know it why don't you ever mention. Is it because you in denial...?

also, no, I'm fine with online and I don't think it sucks.

So it doesn't suck that...

You can't pick your items or stage or time limit? Denial or amazing tolerance.
Answers and responses are in blue. Essentially you don't like that I mention the things that other people want to forget about. Which is denial. I hate how everyone puts Sakurai and Nintendo on this stupid pedal stool like they are gods, they really aren't. Don't lie to yourself, the game isn't perfect.

You need to understand the difference between denial and being content with what you have. No, it's not that I don't like things people want to "forget" about. It's just it really doesn't even bother me to the point where a entire topic needs to be made concerning it. Really, it just looks like you are dwelling on small issues that are negative. Nobody is saying Sakurai is god. They are doing a good job, working their butts off, so why not give them credit where it's due?

Again, it could be worse, it could be better. But since we have it, im not complaining, therefore I don't think it sucks. That would make me sound ungrateful. No, I'm not going to compare brawl to FPS Xbox live online configurations either.

This is a Smash Boards Forum, dedicated to Smash. I don't know, What do you think people here will be?

I came here a bit before Dylan left, I remember him being really elitist (I think). Is that what your saying, can you elaborate on the comparison please, because I'd hate for people to hate me, I'll tone stuff down if I have to. And what do you mean by...
You aren't like him in how you post or your mindset, but you are the guy everyone seems to love to hate at the moment.
"It's really hard to get people to side against you if you have this air of ultra nice guy around you."

And for everyone who thinks I'm a pessimist. I'm not, I'm just not a fanboy in denial, and this is a serious issue.
I was just saying that if someone flamed at you hardcore and you were like "Ok guy, sorry you feel that way." and left it at that very very few people could really jump on the hate bandwagon is all.

I didn't mean anything degrading at all towards you in my previous post.

People say Sakurai is god. And you make it seem like online isn't a big thing, online is one of the BIGGEST things. I'm not just picking at small things, I'm talking about important things and creating threads that are interesting. What's fun about... "I can't wait, I can't wait."

And just FTR, I wasn't really upset about the pushback, I'm not a pessimist. However I understand what your saying, and if you honestly aren't disapointed by the online the I respect that.

You aren't like him in how you post or your mindset, but you are the guy everyone seems to love to hate at the moment.

Oh, I see. How is everyone doing the multi quote within one quote. Like when you split one person's quote into several quotes?

God, get a ****ing life and wait for the game to come out.. All this **** is subject to change anyway, we all want smash to get here but there's no reason to post these ******** topics that no one will be able to give you a clear answer too. Think before you post.
This is totally something to start a pointless flame war about.

Arguing, internet, Special Olympics, etc, etc.

Just wrap the parts you want to quote separately in their own quote tags. Like...

(Quote=whoever;######)
Quoted text #1
(/quote)

Response 1

(Quote=whoever;######)
Quoted text #2
(/quote)

Response 2

And obviously replace the parenthesis () with brackets []

That's too much effort if you have to restate the name. That's too much cutting and pasting.
You don't have to restate it, if you don't it just leaves out the "originally posted by" part (like in this quote). There is also a button that inserts the tags for you, select the test you want to quote separately and just push the
button.

I don't know, I guess he wants us to speculate off a picture that we will have only 64 friends list and expects us to do something about it.
He does expect you to do something about it. He expects you to discuss. Seriously, a discussion can take place here, people. Online--like it or not--is a big thing, and most of us would like to be prepared for the worst. I'll start us off.

Online tournaments. It would be a hassle to exchange FCs with somebody, have a set of matches, and delete him/her to add another's FC for the next set of matches. Posting your FC before entering an online tourney could speed things up, and your FC would be listed on the first post along with the FCs of many others. Adding every FC on the first post before the start of the tournament could reduce time issues and confusion, but some problems are presented. What about large-scale tournaments? Sixty-four may really not be enough in this case, especially if you already have a group of friends on your list.

Now I know you won't be playing everyone you added as a friend, but it would really quicken the pace of the tournament if it is done beforehand instead of taking time from the tournament to do it.

Now I ask you this: is 64 really enough?

It'd be nice if they had:

Play with Friends

Play with anyone

Play in a tournament

so you could just join like a tournament lobby and wait for everyone to join.

64 is enough for everyone, except hardcore people who host online tournaments too often. Just host 2v2 matches. If you keep doing tournaments, the list would eventually add up to over 100+ regardless so it's pointless. Maybe if the friend list was around 500+ then large scale tournaments could take place.

But then again. Online Tournaments aren't anything compared to real ones that deal with cash.
