It's been probably 5 months since my Wii broke. Maybe a little longer. Before that I had been playing all the time, keeping my skill up. I used to be decent with Jigglypuff and pretty good with Snake. After playing at friends house I realized I had trouble even doing a DACUS let alone keep track of the timers on my grenades. My DI was terrible.
A few months ago I went to a tournament in San Diego while I was visiting my relatives (Everyone at Chula Vista were really awesome :D) and before the tournament started the only character I could use well at all was Metaknight. My spacing was off too, and I relied realllly heavily on dsmash, almost the whole time. Almost all of my kills were shuttle loop kills. Even while using MK I was hesitant to leave the stage.
I've been playing Street Fighter 4, HD Remix and MvC2 since my Wii broke, but none of them are as entertaining to me as Smash. I love being able to live longer than a certain number, I love having stocks instead of entirely new rounds after each death, and I love how open ended the game is. Street Fighter feels linear, and its almost impossible to make up combos on the spot.
I don't even know where I'm getting at. I love the Smash community but it's hard to talk to people sometimes when I don't really know Smash like I used to.
