so i got pretty bored studying for these finals day and night so i decided to bust out the old shiekarooski and turn on the sex

these are just some needle spamming techniques and random stuff that ive picked up over my smash career that i decided to share ( for whoever checks out the melee shiek boards anymore? )

some of this stuff is actually pretty useful (i.e. battlefield, stadium) some of it not so useful (green greens lol) but whatever i just made this for fun.

This is not how i play, i am much more cautious and situational with my needles, but i practice stuff like this to get aim and timing on different platform heights (i practice on fox cuz hes a small target, hes actually the matchup i use needles least, kid is too fast)

This has brought speed back into my sheik, hot ****.

You should spend some more time on it and make a proper tech video with needles, then post it in video discussion. This is good, but with proper editing and no screw ups it would be more than amazing.

Also, am I the only one that likes this or why is no one else posting here?

haha the beat box just naturally syncs up in so many places, i love it, i didnt edit at all, but i just remembered a whole bunch of cool stuff that i do that is not in the video, so i might add those in and edit the whole thing to make it look pretty....after finals

witchking, any cool variations, or any level specific stuff that yu do that i should add? u inspired me to not be lazy and make this sweet by being like the only person to post in my thread lol

I dunno really..... XD Before I watched this video I hadn't played sheik in a while. I just kinda do random stuff on Yoshi's, trying to spend as little time as possible in the air. Not really flashy, but I use waveland FF needles off the top platform and go straight into lower platform wavelands/needle canecels.

What I did find kind of funny is using Scarjumping to get onto one of the side platforms. You can either just needle, which leads into an isai drop and another needle cancel or RNC edgehog from the platform. Or you can waveland off the top platform, either into the stage, which isn't that great because I still can't get the waveland so that I fall off, if it's even possible, or off the stage. Then you can RNC and edgehog, or drift into the stage and start scarjumping. You can throw some needles or do an fair right after you drop off if you want.

Of course, you could just waveland on the side platfomr normally from the scar jump and do an Up B edgehog, but that's really pointless.

thats pretty cool i gotta try that later, and u can FF needles on yoshis? i always assumed the platform was too low, i only really do that on dreamland

Only on the top platform, but it's not all that hard there.

Also, you can kind of do the Battlefield thing on Yoshi's story, but it's not as good because you have to drift towards the side platforms, meaning you only have time to throw like one needle. I think it might work without drifting if you get a perfect perfect waveland or if you run off, but you need momentum that's for sure.

Something that has nothing to do with needles but looks really funky: If you keep dashing one way and immediately pivoting a jab, it looks like you're walking backwards while jabbing. Fun to show off with.

More pointless stuff: you can run off the side platform, WJ, jump and RNC and you grab the ledge.

u dont practice any other levels besides yoshis? i was trying to figure out some kinda infinite needle loopy thing goin on dk64, but they were moving too slow, but i think that level has some potential to be cool

Not really, Yoshis is my favorite stage with every character. JJ is cool as well because of all the up B cancels you can do.

Although now that you say it, DK64 sounds kind of promising.

u gotta short hop first, shoot it rising. it cancels like samus missiles

then when u land isai drop and shoot again, if u wanna reverse it just just isai drop a full half circle instead of quarter circle.

this is useless btw... well, almost.

The only thing I can't do is the D-smash on Green Greens blocks --> needle charge

Isai dropping from the platforms on Stadium into more needles is fun. Controlling when you land on the platform with distance tricks like pivots and stuff is really important to use it right though. For some reason I can't do empty pivot but I'm getting better at pivoting into jumps Now if I can figure out a way to cheat and do pivot u/f/d-tilt and/or d-smash consistently

Sh needle to land on the Stadium low platforms is still awkward for me lol, the timing is kind of early but not right as you leave the ground so it's not like the Yoshi platforms where you can do it super early and still make it

I tried wavelanding off the top platform of battlefield into FF reverse needle but I don't think that works well enough or efficiently enough to continue practice. The FF is easy, you have to do it real fast to have time to get into the reverse needle animation but then I don't think if you FF there's enough time to actually get the needle out, which is lame. You enter the throwing animation but then nothing comes out and you land with standard landing animation.

Lame.

I thought I had it two or three times but I'm pretty sure I didn't and simply messed up the FF.

If someone with AR could check to see if it even works that would be hot but if not I wouldn't bother. There are enough other needle tricks anyways.

I really wish Sheik had more aerial mobility. The gay that could come from that is epic

@raynex i can do everything consistently enough where i dont hesitate to do it games, depends how useful it is to begin with. i used to just spam tricks and stuff cuz it was fun but now i try to play smart but stuff just happens cuz it was remnant from when i used to spam it but now it tends to be actually useful when i do it and looks cooler that way. fastfall reverse needle bair off ledge is prolly the most useful thing ive made up

@KKK - Green Greens? down on the cstick > press B... whats so hard about that?

this is cool, try down smash to fair, u hold forward and edgecancel into another instant fair. if u set the blocks up right u can do a staircase of like 3-4 instant fairs.

something really useful i found on that level is that utilt breaks the blocks at the end of the animation so u can spam lagfree utilts into double jump aerials on gg...gg.

didnt understand what u meant about pivoting controlling when u land? u cant pivot in the air i lost u.

needling onto stadium is not consistent i dont use that. needle cancelling to stay under the platform and aerial is very consistent and useful though. still hate that level though.

fastfall needles dont come out off battlefield plats, its still useful to land facing the other direction sometimes. also fastfall reverse needle off plat but hold it into standing needle is useful too. they come out off dreamland central plat and story central ( thats in a clip i believe).

doublejump ff reverse needle is very useful on FD.

i have many more random tricks in my head, if u keep talking about stuff they will surface
