How would you describe your competive drive?

My competive drive is to come in and win so well I can look the other player in the eyes and they'll know they lost to me and they couldn't do a thing to stop that by fullwell knowing they were outplayed on every level and i would keep improving at an unstoppable rate where i would refuse to let them catch me unless you wanted it more than even me, a task I can't even image. If I lose I won't play to win i'll play only to learn they I stepped it up greatly and focusing on more important parts of the match. Once I get ahead I'll be faster than your shadow as you try play tag.*

I wanta win and be unquestionable for it.*

What's your competive drive? Do you want it as much as me?

I feel like if there's someone in the world doing it, then I can do it, too.

Also, I want to prove to every top tier-exclusive player that Link is legit.

I'm hellbent on improving but I'm not sure I can quantify it literally. Obviously I like winning but I generally find that getting my *** kicked by a player who is significantly better is a more rewarding experience. I find that if I'm playing worse players, I can lose motivation and start autopiloting and playing characters I wouldn't normally play. It's probably a bad habit. :/

Top players are way ahead of me, so I gotta put in that work. That's it. Practice, watch, learn, compete. Winning doesn't happen unless there's a whole lot of losing before it.

If playing someone worse use them to combo, wd oos, and explore new ideas in some ways going on autoploit is lazy but in tournment I could see it's uses to save mental engry.

I think you mean Competitive. But yeah I'm the same as you. I'm sure almost everyone out there wants to be the best. You described it the best. Look them in the eye and to know that they knew they were outplayed.

Nope. Being the best is lonely.

Being good is overrated. Continuing to have fun playing the game is infinitely more important.

I know I sound extremely scrubby in this post, but trust me, I value competitive play as much as anyone here. It's just that being good is not its own award.

I don't really want to be the best but if that happens I don't think I'll have a problem with it. I play melee because I like comboing, getting clutch edgeguards and ruining people's dreams.

Fun stuff always happens in smash. And I would play play tag like it was competive in the sense i'd run as hard as i could to get anyone i could but it was also just plain fun line tag was the best.

I'd say my competitive drive is waning pretty severely.

I'm at the point where practicing by myself doesn't improve my abilities at all (it has actually made them worse before) and I only get to play against actual people once a week. Sometimes that doesn't even happen and I go for a few weeks without smashing at all.

No people, no fun.
No fun, no drive.

winning is fun, losing makes me very motivated to win again. it's drug-like, i guess

i also find a great enjoyment in using unusual, but viable characters that no one else uses. i also like being cheap and aggresive, so i almost always play a character with a hit/grab 50/50 and can do huge stuff off grabs. nobody can predict that ****.

melee - ice climbers
brawl - ddd
mvc3 - x-23
3rd strike - makoto
ssfivae - makoto

GRABSSSSSS.

(if grabs are not good in the game, i will usually resort to projectile spamming.)

i just love being cheap and winning!!

For me, it's almost like an OCD thing. I see something I'm doing wrong and it'll bother the crap out of me until I fix it and then more stuff comes up and I fix that and before you know it... I can barely even resist adding the commas to make that sentence work.

As corny as it may sound, my sole goal in any competitive game, especially fighting games, is to meet with and prove myself against as many other players as possible. I seek well-fought matches against people of equal or higher skill than me. Winning is a reward and feels good, and losing is just more motivation to try harder. That to me is what makes any game, whether it be badminton, smash, soccer, street fighter, or chess, so beautiful in a competitive environment.

Every since the beginning of time, I always wanted to destroy every smasher that exists. Losing is not an option, if I would lose then it hurt deeply and I had to try again so that I would no longer lose. Basically, constantly thinking about new strategies to outplay my opponents, training everyday to keep a good execution and find new ideas.. developing proper endurance and focus to last a long time, you guys know the deal. For me, there can be only glory ahead, without winning until the end that's simply not possible... there can be only one person on top and the fight to get there is extremely hard. There can be no doubt inside the road of the champion... it's simply not enough when you are not getting number 1.

But I mean having so many rivals along the road and beating them.. was fun.. =P
