How will you be able to choose?

Man, considering how hard it is for me and a lot of smashers to stick with one or two characters how will it be with brawl. there is oly like 26 characters for melee, and i still want to be able to play like half the cast competitively. Now imagine brawl where we are going to have around 35'ish characters. Especially with all the newcomers. We are going to have character overload. Do you think you will get a case of "I want to play every character in smash" or be able to stick to your one or two favorite nintendo characters.

OK now that i just read this, i think it might belong in character discussion. but since i wasnt talking about any specific characters, and this is a pretty general post, i'll leave it here. Mods if you have the need to move it to character discussion, go right ahead...peace

I would find a character that I like and that fits my playstyle and learn how to own with him/her. Sure, I'd play as the other characters too, and maybe even learn how to play as one competitively and, if I'm good with him/her, I might switch my main.

So, I guess that means I'd be able to "stick to one or two favorite nintendo characters".

Well, Captain Falcon is pretty much confirmed, so my Melee main will return.

To see if there's anybody else even worth considering (c'mon, it is Falcon, after all), I'm going to have to beat Classic/Adventure/etc with every character anyway to unlock everything, so I'll do that.

After that, I'll just do the same thing I did with Falcon, mess around with the characters I seem to like, and hopefully one will seem right; that's what it was like in Melee. Falcon was just a good fit for me; sadly, I get all weirded out when I play as a floatie now.

I played random from when I first started playing Melee, and only picked a "tournament main" when I was good enough to warrant doing so, based on my experience with playing random all that time. I figure I'll do the same in Brawl.

The first characters I will try out are going to be strictly based on the coolness factor (Pit, Link) and then, if I face an opponent with a character that has some nice combos and a playstyle that I like, I will try them out too. By the time I figured out who I like to play as, I will have around 6-7 characters that I like and will play as often. Thats what happened with Melee, and with Brawl I think that the same thing will happen again.

In Melee, even though I've changed mains a few times, my mains have always chosen me, I haven't chosen them. I'm pretty sure Brawl will work the same way... and whoever I'm meant to wield will find me.

Although I generally brag that I spread the love around in Melee to the entire roster, and I intend to do the same in Brawl, I'm sure "my" character will find me.

Well, it is hard to tell now, and I think that when it comes around it will flow naturally, but I will take a guess that I will be a newcomer, probably one that has a lot of odd moves... I really liked GaW... I'll also see how the tourney scene is going, like if my character counters the most played, I will stick with him exclusivly..

I will probably pick a really unique character this time around, I wanted so bad to have a good Ice Climbers, but that never really happened...

I'm definitely going to main a character tournamnet wise, but which character is still undecided. As for friendlies and messing around with friends, or just playing online, I think I'll just random for the most part.

Some of the character updates from the site have me thinking. Wario and Bowser are the characters that I'm interested in at the moment, but that will most likely change by the time I know all of the characters in Brawl.

Samus is Confirmed, and Mario, so my mains are coming back.

Mario's been my main since 64 and Melee so that'll continue for Brawl. Luigi has been second most used character since Melee. Pit may end up being tied w/ Luigi for my second most character.

My favorite character Fox is still going to be in brawl, so I'll end up using him. I'll likely just try them all, and use the one I have the most fun with as my other main. I like fast characters, so I'm hopeful a few small ones like Toad will be included.

For me I just played...........everyone. I susually find one I'm good with and get better, but a lot of the characters I'm good at were ones I just felt like playing.

I've always mained Kirby, even through Melee's nerfing, so I'll probably at least still have a strong bond to him in Brawl. But I'll have to see the newcomers to decide, if Midna for example is in I'll have to give her a solid go.

I'll give everone a try, and an extensie play trough. then I'll main Bowser, because Bowser is just too fricken awesome not to main.

I wanna be Pit the most, but if Sonic or Lucario is in it, or any other interesting newcomer comes, I'll give them a good try.

I feel as if they put in Wario just for me. I don't know if anyone else feels this way about any other characters, but in EVERY Nintendo game ever made that had Wario in it, I played as Wario. I own every game Wario was ever in (except WW: Touched, and Master of Disguise since I dont own a DS) and he is just awesome. I can't wait(!!) to use Wario!! I will obviously try out all the other characters though.

EDIT: By not owning a DS I also never owned Mario Kart: DS and all the other Mario games on the DS that featured Wario. Just a clarification

I think I'll probably start off playing as Mario (my main from SSB and SSBM), and then I'll eventually try out all the other characters at random. Whoever is my best will become my new main.
