rofl. I don't know what else to do. People are switching to falco and fox in my area... like all of them, we only have one marth player now. And i'm getting autocomboed by people that have just picked up falco. Like today was my worst run at my weekly so far. Our puff player literally did nothing but space bairs into my shield for 7 minutes straight. Then a brand new falco played me in friendlies, showed me that all he had learned was SH Laser and he bodied me on final destination. Like... it feels like any minor amount of skill is enough to trump 8 months of ganon play and it just gets me salty. So IDK what to do lol.

It's annoying to get autocomboed no matter what my DI is and only be able to get anything going... when they mess up xD like everyone here is learning to play as lame as possible.

Some good matches went down today. Videos recorded vs druggedfox, gravy, jason, and porkchops. Lost to Drugged 3-0 and gravy 3-1. At least put up a fight tho. Beat jason 3-0 and porkchops 2-0.

Jason shoulda beat gravy he just booked hsi own flight to gotem -_-

Also some ****ing hilarious ganon doubles matches recorded of me and tippy vs jason and ace...hype!

I think i'm going to play shiek for a while, try to learn some different things and get off my salty tilt. Might feel good to have auto combos on people for once lol.
I picked her up as a secondary a few months ago.

It does feel good

Is there a bar at your venue or something? I keep hearing about getting drunk during the tournament.

Our main weekly venue used to be the bar of a Japanese steak house (sake for days) but now we're in a church :/

It's literally at a casino lol. Temptation always gets me. Those long island iced teas haha. Sounds like I just John about it but at the end of the day I go to have fun, and fun was had. Thought we were going to have a rap battle on stream at one point lol.

Well netplay is based more on how much you play. So rankings don't really mean much. I mean eikelmann is a silver I or something. But he's definitely much better than that rank ya know

Tied for 9th-12th at Full Bloom 2 yesterday (out of ~230), beating Voorhese (Pika / Fox) and Vro (Marth, this win was extremely faudulent), losing to Kels (Fox) and Rik (Fox).

Rik set was streamed, also the set I played worst by far lol

Man dizzkid had a hell of a run at fight Pitt 6, so glad Colin stopped him cold. n0ne got 3-0'd (duck, abate and hugs got bopped too), coming very close to taking a game after switching to Ganon game 3. Dorf is the answer to climbers lol.

Just give me the ICs!! I see on twitter everyone's whining about how ICs break the game, I can just shake my head.

out of curiosity since i'm new to the thread but is it known that ganon can catch turnips/bombs after his recovery?
I don't believe that he can grab items during his upB or freefall. I'm not sure anyone does

I've been trying to figure out how to edgeguard Fox consistently but in some cases i feel like Ganon can only cover 2/3 choices in his recovery so there's always a chance to miss. =(

Fox recovering high is the one I have the most trouble with. Low is easy, level with stage is iffy (I jab for side-B then react to firefox), but I don't really have anything for high, except just trying to have a hitbox out.

I think the problem is when they are far enough to not get hit with a punch or uair off stage but also close enough to do the angle to the edge and getting the sweetspot. In those cases I find myself committing maybe too early and then they get a free recovery. The reason that happens is because they still have the option to side-B or Up-B so you have to commit to one of those timings. The only answers I found to that is either low angled Ftilt or perhaps reverse uair but you have to be also timed really well. They can also delay their jumps to make the task even more difficult.

is it possible to time the fast fall or normal fall off a wavelanding from platform quick enough before the phantasm or firefox comes out as a successful edgeguard?
Ya you can but the range on that is kinda limited I think since you'd have to commit below the ledge which will put you at risk if you miss. Usually the Foxes recover further from that range.

so for close range recovery on fox reverse up air is good but whats debatable is the option for far recovery on fox
hmm how about falling up air on stage to deny the phantasm revovery to force them into a firefox to limit their options first?

If they never had sideB, I think it's possible to cover all upB angles on reaction on FD, assuming that you have good positioning first. When you add platforms into the mix, even that becomes less certain.

Add sideB and there's no way. Unless you're in a position to jab, you can't even cover both shorten & non-shorten on reaction, assuming that one of those is to ledge or to platform cancel.

I think the answer is some combination of:
1. Covering some options (duh)
2. Conditioning (discourage them from choosing options which are difficult to cover or react to)
3. Paying attention to which options they choose and when
and then mixing it up when you have a hard read on them.

But it's definitely good to have at least 1 plan vs every recovery position when you aren't sure what they'll do.

If they didn't have side-b as a recovery tool, you could literally just jump out there and get them every single time though. Unless they were too low, which is a reactable edge hog with invincible ledge hop up air if necessary.
