I actually utilize this specifically on Yoshi's Story and I always get them with the dj uair, its such a good move to use off stage because of its priority.

GUYS STOP POSTING. I've had 9100 messages left in this thread for about three days now, and I've been through like 15 pages.

JK, it's more useful than the ****talk that happened a year and a half ago.

Sweet spot on nair? And those numbers are pretty high considering the percent of nair, but are thos for the 1st or 2nd hit?

I'd guess that they're second hit and the sweetspot is probably the body hitbox. I killed a CPU Fox on Dreamland under 150% with that. Other hits were over 180% for any kill on Battlefield

question: when should i be using autocancelled bair and instant uair over ff? or is there no advantage whatsoever?

i was looking back on some videos and i realized everytime i hit shield with bair, it was always near the top of the shield and i always got punished because it was autocancelled. also, is low bair > jab on shield positive if they try to do anything after the bair?

The AC works when you fastfall...

How were you getting punished? If you fp bair and ff fp, you should AC on shield and be safe to dash away.

I'd really like to know the window to punish window on AC bair to pivot jab myself. I don't think they should be able to grab.

So, if I'm staring at frame data where am I going to find this sweetspot?
The sweetspot is just one specific hitbox that does more knockback/damage. For example, the Knee (Falcon fair) has a sweetspot and a sourspot. Marth famously has his tippers. It's not evident from looking at the frame data where the sweetspot is, it takes actually testing to figure out which hitbox it is. I know what I'm doing tomorrow...

Something I've been experimenting with loosely but not enough to reach a conclusion.

A lot of times when I have someone cornered near ledge, if I jab their shield, I've been trying to go directly into pivot bair (spaced). This is pretty damn safe, I just don't know exactly how safe.

The bair is near-fp on his shield, then near-fp fastfalled for the AC. Then, I'll immediately pivot retreating uair scoop them.

So, jab, bair, uair.

If anything hits them they are offstage, and although there are punishable holes in this (how big??) I think it's good. Imagine the aerials spaced well. They seem to hit right when ppl tend to drop their shield (bair catches their punish attempt after shielding your jab). If they shield it all, remember the uair is retreating and you can dj after.

^^ ANYONE BORED 20XX TEST THIS PLEEEZ

*** and if they get used to instant uair after the AC bair, AC bair to grab them.

I started playing with nair some more, and I found another use for it while edgeguarding. It's DEFINITELY not free though.

Waveland off to nair. It'll block a spacie side-b recovery onto the stage or sweetspot attempt if you can time it right.

LOL wouldn't he need like 120% to die off survival DI? Also just the window to get back to ledge is tight.

I've been using nair some just as a mixup. There were a few times playing spider_sense where he expected uair when I nair'd and I clipped him with the second hit after the first whiffed, leading to an edgeguard. It can definitely surprise people.

got my laptop back up again. i work 70+ hours a week now and so i need something to fill the void during what free time i have. really hoping to be more active on here again.

what have i missed? who are the new faces here?
Hi! I'm a new face, from Georgia. Probably the most significant thing you missed was BizzaroFlame's recent retirement. : (

Why not just do WL uair dj uair? Or stay on stage and Tipman spike? WL nair seems pretty dubious to me, but nevertheless I like how you're looking for uses for the move. : ) Here's a nair application I was trying yesterday: full hop nair ff. When timed correctly, the second hit of nair will come out and hit a grounded opponent right as you land. (Even Pichu, it comes out so low.) In that way full hop nair ff is kind of like full hop ff uair, except you get an extra hitbox with the first hit of nair. I like it so far.

Edit: Also, Coastward, didn't realize till I read your sig that you're part of EMG. Pretty cool. : )

I never said it was practical, just that it had a use. Style points maybe?

lol, Wyoming. So close enough to go see Evo and hit some stuff in Nebraska and Kansas maybe. But not close enough to be involved with like... anything our scene is less than a year old.

Guess I'm the one PAL representative here, going to a tournament on Saturday. Been practicing fox which I plan to use against high pressure spacies. Hopefully I get one or two matches on stream.
Probably going to duo main ganon/fox.
Btw I'm pretty sure nair kills earlier than fair here, not sure where uair is in comparison.

PAL nair is still weaker than PAL fair.

The reduced kb of PAL dair would take the most adjusting in play style imo.

Edit: crucial typo

It might've stronger kb, but the trajectory is worse with good DI. And are you sure that even this sweet spot is weaker?
Dair is basically the same, just remove 10-20% or so.
