HOW TO POST A BLOG

I get at least one PM/VM a week asking how to post a blog, so here it is for everyone who's wondering.

1) Click on the "Smash News" icon at the top of the page (it's the one with a mushroom)
2) Click on "Create Content"
3) Click on "Blog Entry"
4) Write your blog, hit submit

Note- If you get a validation error, simply copy your text to an open Word document, open a new blog post, paste your previous text and submit it again.

Teran Edit: A lot of you are forgetting that the blog may be chopped off when the thread is created. When you post a blog, click the "View Thread" option and see if this has happened. If it has, copy paste the contents into the OP of the thread using the edit button. Do this right away to avoid people telling you that it has been chopped off, and to save me from being a good samaritan and doing it for you.

Is there a reason that you can't do it through the conventional means of just starting a thread? Seems silly.

Or you could do the easiest method and click the underlined 'Write something in your blog" in the user Blogs description.

Kirby King has explained before that the blog feature only even appears traditionally and not just through Smash News is that it's the easiest way to allow comments...or something to that effect, I believe.

The feature isn't meant to be a regular thread, basically.

And it's rather surprising that people can't figure out how to make a blog. You would think people would see the link in the description of the forum, at least.

Well...coming from AiB to here, it definitely is more complicated. Still not that bad, but it could be easier.

Yeah, threads only appear to manage replies, not for the sake of the actual blog itself.

So the last 2 blogs I've made have a problem (I think its been ever since the server switch)...

On the Smash News site my blogs are all done in HTML for some reason (any way I can just post like normal BBCode?) and they look fine here on the SWF side of things.

Example:
http://www.smashboards.com/news/blogs/72031/3338/tourney-results-as-of-051110
and
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=274488

Is the html only working correctly on SWF cause I'm a mod? Do other people have this problem?

Yeah, I have no idea why that's happening.

Does he use BBCode in the blogs?

Honestly even when I use HTML in my blogs it'll show up on the Smash News site...

Think we need an admin..

I honestly don't know when it'll be fixed, it's up to MLG tech not me.

No fix, I'm putting up a new announcement though.
