I have a few intrests in this post, as all of you can see, I obviously main Jigglypuff, so learning what Marth's will try to do to kill me will help me anticipate and respond. However, as many of you don't know, I second Marth and I have had difficulties beating a Jigglypuff by a wide margin, which is supposedly whats supposed to happen by the users here. I personally believe it is a close matchup, but I do face a lot of Jigglypuff's, so I would like to know exactly how Marth users (specifically emblem lord) would try to kill me so I can also use this to kill others.

Please be specific, generic does nothing. An example of this is saying that Marth has better range than Jigglypuff. The thing I would be looking for is that Marth has longer range aerials than Jigglypuff for all of them but Jigglypuff's pound extends past all of his, meaning that he overall has longer range in the air.

If you watch for your spacing SH fairs should be a huge problem for her. Your better range is the key in this battle, so you need to space yourself, really thats all you can do.

Give us more to work with. What exactly is giving you problems in the match-up?

What do you do that Jiggz players take advantage of?

What happens when you try to abuse your range?

Alright I play G a lot, whose a pretty **** good jiggz.

I don't think the matchup is even slight advantage to Marth 60/40 but knowing the matchup will let you beat most Marths.

I usually kill with either a shield drop d-smash (after a jiggz aerial), stutter step back f-smash (because jiggz almost always goes towards you in the air to try and get close for their hits, stutter step back has a higher chance of tipping), I've even killed with ledge hop shieldbreaker. Constant shield pressure helps Marth a lot in this matchup.

Ones I don't use as much are dancing blade up combo (jiggz is never on the ground), running up smash (takes too long to come out), running dolphin slash (easily punishable after and jiggz does a lot of dodging so it's easy to wiff).

I moderately use n-air if we're near the edge but going in the air against her is rough.

Tipped aerials and smashes kill jiggs very easily, assuming they hit. So if you're jiggs, as you mentioned above, use pound to outrange them, space accordingly, and avoid going above marth.

I agree with JunkIntheTrunk your SH Fair game will be your most valueble assest. Just be careful not to be overagressive by overextending yourself to far and putting yourself into a vulnerable position. It really is when you are on the offence that you should be cautious. Patience is key in this match-up just wait for an opening and capitalize.

Yeah, I really became better because of G. I think what I have to deal with is how to overcome Jigglypuff's pound (longer range than any of your aerials, I mean you can try to space well but how do you effectively overcome Jigglypuff's spacing, because she simply has to move back and either you can't attack her and she can pound or no one can attack.), how to avoid being edgehogged or guarded by the Puff, and how to easily KO (I pretty much know this but I could use a few tips). I also want to know if there is anyway Jigglypuff can overcome to dancing blade without using dair (in which case you shouldn't be using the dancing blade). Thanks for your help so far, this will help me kill a lot of Puff's (I play more because I'm active in the Puff boards).

Also, I've never thought of a stutter stepped F-smash, just a spot-dodge 1 (since she generally DI's away, it puts you in great range to tip). Also, nice new use for shieldbreaker, never thought of a shield-hop one. Its true that you can shield on most character and if they try to attack up, they are grabbed, but if they don't get up, they get D-smashed.

Jiggz spacing is really effing annoying... you just have to constantly mix it up. If you get in a patter you get punished. It sucks because you're safe options (like retreating f-air) usually don't hit at all.

I'm still working on consistently avoid being gimped. G is really good at adjusting so I can't just do the same thing every time. He basically stays just outside my f-air range, so if I f-air I obviously miss, if I airdodge he's fast enough to come in for a sweetspot f-air, and counter is worse because now I've lost horizontal momentum towards the stage.

Try going low... Jiggz in general should avoid going low, and if you do it'll force you to use dolphin slash whose invincibility frames will help you out. Also, try fast falling, DIing back, and not DIing at all. If you always DI towards the stage the Jiggz knows exactly what trajectory you'll be moving at, and simply has to react to your attack or dodge.

If you put up your shield and then the Marth starts dancing blade, you can roll out of it. So G will usually roll behind me and grab me or do really whatever he pleases. Rolling around in general will help you against dancing blade. Or just stand far enough back that you won't get hit by the first hit of dancing blade so you have enough time to react and jump away once Marth starts, so you can punish later. You probably shouldn't be close enough to get hit by the first hit of dancing blade anyways.

Abusing Nair is a very effective tactic. It hits twicein the air, great range and it seems to hit your opponent before they get a chacne to hit you.

Thanks, Junk, you really helped me out in two ways. Now I know how to play from both sides (its really funny, I literally play more Marths and Jiggs than anyone else). Yeah, the problem with dancing blade is if they only do a double, then you are still left moderately open.
