How to "BUFFER" Marth's Tilts

I'm getting pretty good with Marth. I had a list of all my buddys who used to HUMILIATE me in Melee, and I can convincingly defeat most of them in Brawl now, cept two ( Lucas Main and Ganon Main).

And as comfortable as I am with Marth by now, i've realized that i NEVER,NEVER use tilts, cept for Dtilt when paniced or can infinate them against a wall.

so my question to all of you is: HOW do you use tilts?

when do you use them/ how do you set them up? is there a good move so that after i can just hold up or foward and attack?

whenever i try to use Utilt, i always jump or Usmash. and i dont see a good reason to use Ftilt.

also, if tilts arent worth it with marth, post that too. i wouldnt know cause' i never use standing A, Ftilt or Utilt.

You need to practice the up tilt so you dont jump or up smash, go into training mode and just do up tilts over and over.

Up tilt is good for people on platforms or coming down from above you.

Ftilt owns short hop approaches and is a good spacing tool.

Down tilt.. is amazing. It's a great poke move. It's fast. It's safe on block when spaced properly. It's a trap in itself, it's great for spacing, zoning, it's too good. Also dtilt leads to a free dancing blade. (copy pasted this from another thread)

I use dtilt and utilt all the time, utilt is great for killing off the top and attack above you. ftilt is generall just a way to get someone outta your face.

marth's tilts are incredible. Turn off tap jump. I rarely use dtilt for some reason. utilt is like a giant moving hitbox and ftilt reaches sooooo far compared to lag.

Set your c-stick to attack, and you will realize how amazing these tilts are.

i cant do either.

i need tap jump to trick ppl with Uair,
and i spam Cstick to attack...

i was hopeing that there were techniques that lasted long enough to buffer a nice tilt so i can just hold that direction and not have to b all "sensitive"

You could always just...practice? No offense, but that's really the best way to do these things. If your friends are any good, they'll recognize that you favor certain attacks to turn into a tilt-this is bad for you. Practice, practice, practice.

I had trouble with them to. Use a level 3 computer and go five stocks using only tilts. Then do another five stocks alternating between normal tilts and make sure to take it seriously. Just because the computer walks around like an idiot doesn't mean you should.

That's how I got used to it. Good luck

Or for an easy way to do it:

Pop in Melee.

Do a ledgehopped Nair to Utilt.

No buffering system in there, so it'll get you used to stuff if you plan to keep tap jump/C-Stick smashes.

You do know what buffering means right?

lol, I tried playing Melee, and realized how comfortable I've gotten with buffering.

Eh, you have to be really good to use ftilt appropriately, the others are easy.

utilt is amazing. Learn all of the different trajectories you can obtain, and learn how to space them. It's MY favorite (though not most used tilt)
