How playstyle is molded.

Playstyles are based upon many contributing factors.

Molding a playstyle usually consists of what character you play, watching videos of a certain player who's playstyle you're attracted to, playstyles of your opponents, etc.

But the major contributing factor to any playstyle is yourself.

As I Falco main, I prefer to lean towards a more technical and aggressive side of gameplay- which I do get punished for on many occasions. All playstyles have their advantages and disadvantages.

Its obvious that most peoples characters develope like those around because they are the one critiquing us and giving us tips. Telling us what to do etc. Just like learning any sort of sport of fighting style(Karate, Kick Boxing etc.) We mostly learn what our sensei(teacher) shows us, though we can pick up some outside information XD

my playstyle is very much super random

i tend we first start to build one once we have a couple rivals early on in our career

but the strongest play styles are usually able to adapt to any other kind of style. so it no longer even becomes style, rather, it's just formless and takes form in response to the opponent

i just watch a lot of players and try to imitate them in practice but when it comes to actually playing . . . i don't even know if i have a certain style.

i think diff. characters = diff. playstyle to be honest.

I'm only good at defense and death combos because all I played against was Unknown and Raynex for the longest time and they never let me attack because they're always in my face :/

Well, like, 90% of the time.

So yeah I basically had to learn how to defend.

I hate that. I always wanna learn to be super aggro, but whenever I'm playing against better players than myself, I always have to be defensive, and I feel like it forces me to play more defensively, which is not how I want to play most of the time.

The reason that is, is because you are forced to deal with situations that you aren't used to and it puts pressure on you. When you can learn to deal with those situations better then you can force your style upon others much easier. You just need to get stronger.
