So what AT do you think you can integrate into your play style? No AT is completely useless and I believe all should be used at their full potential. Be imaginative, consider all the properties of it, like DAC invinciblitily frames. Also which AT do you least use and how do you use your AT under what situations?

Spring jump to dair offstage.

It's the ultimate AT, they never see it coming.

Pssht. It's Sonic boards, we aren't helpful, we don't do real work.

Like, I don't really bother arguing when people say "oMg Soncki wurse dan falcon oolololololo!!1one!" because it's just met with ignorance. So I've just given up taking the boards seriously and generally mess about now.

Anyway, as for the topic, I can't spinshot effectively. I basically only use it when I'm getting projectile spammed. What do other people use it for?

If I'm being honest, I was a bit confused when I first saw this thread...

And Roooy, I use spinshot for countering projectile spammers (leap over them and hit them with a Bair) or for edgeguarding (my personal favourite is spinshot --> Dair --> recover...hitting them right through with a Dair has pretty nice knockback)

one of these days ill practice incorporating shield cancelled spindashes as an approach. in practice i can do about 2 per second by using the grab button (z in my case) to shield but remembering to do that in a game is so hard lol. I think its a reasonably good tactic. it may not be an AT or anything, but its definitely an unexpeced approach and works well enough when i remember (like cancelling an ASC into a grab)

you can just spinshot> bair from accross FD, its a pretty cool approach imo.

but i use it extremely sparingly, like.. 2 times a match if i even use it.

sheild cancel approches ****, you dont really HAVE to sheild grab either, you can just release side b.. its a pretty reliable move considering it has invulnerability framse,

you can cancel with sheild and do other things too.. anything.

i dont know all of his ATs off the top of my head, and i dont feel like looking for them even though they are in the stickeys, but if you list all of the ATs sonic has, than i will tell you what situation every single one is used for.

i act really stupid and spam the boards sometimes, but i do help and i do put in usefull info and gain it back in return. so just have fun with it and try to learn something, thats what i do and thats why im the best sonic.

My most common AT applications are:

Spin Shot
Dash Dance Pivot
Dair Spiking
ASC

I may have missed others or thought they weren't worth metioning right now, but as it stands, I tend to do these every match nowadays.

You know what's great and under used and should be used more that's not really advanced?
VSDJ.
Seriously, I've caught so many people out by charging a Spindash away from them, suddenly jumping while they're just sat there confused, to reversing into them and giving them a boxobair for the kill.
That and it has crazy priority. I remember Tumby talking a while ago about it cutting through Metaknight's glide attack.

I think any hitbox "cuts through" MK's glide attack. Although it might only be hitboxes that would deal more than like 3 or 4% or something. The trick, however, is predicting and spacing against it, since its hitbox is large and extended and fast and MK is freaking gliding. But unlike most of MK's attacks, the glide attack actually clashes.

Foxtrot - Pivot Cancels for uber spacing skills <--Brawl's "wave dash"
SD/ASC SHIELD CANCELS into rolls or grabs for approaching
B reversal for mixing up approaches further.
Spin Shots mostly for low trajectory recovery but also for offstage chasing and approaching.

Yes, when I found out that shit cut through glide attack, I came over my controller.

Also, I like VSDJ to set up the timing on my off stage attacks (mainly Bair). thecatinthehat was witness to that today.

imo advanced techs include:
-ASC sheild cancelling (possibly into grabs)
-foxtrot/pivot/turnaround smashing
I use this to run behind opponents and execute fsmash or dsmash, usually they realize im behind them by the time they are getting hit.
-Side B full dash cancels (into VSJ, grabs, or an executed side b> aerial/stool/up-b)
This is probobly my new favorite approach, it seems to be one of the most reliable.
-long distance HA executions, or HA recoveries that go firther than sonic's up-b would (which is possible)
-using up-b to go through an incoming aerial, your apponent bounces ino the air for punsih
-hitting some one with sonic's face during a bair. (this can be a very unexpected strike, and it can also be used to make sonics bair knock people in the direction that sonic is facing, so you in essense dont need to RAR if you master this)
