cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
You probably aren't l canceling. Try to get a shine out first. The simplest way to enter a shine combo is probably with nair, though Dair isn't bad and uthrow is good if it's a spacie and they don't DI
Nair is your safest option, imo

I think Nair gets CCd into ugly responses from the opponent. I would more likely go for the Dair>waveshine>grab, and go from there.

dthrow is not always bad. It's good for mixup sometimes. Note the **sometines**

I sometimes like to do this:

d-throw -> techchase -> waveshine -> whatever.

Dthrow is good if you can read your opponent's tech ESPECIALLY on platforms. I mean they can't go far. its an easy dsmash, usmash or w/e

on platforms its ****. especially on pc stadium. if you use dsmash after dthrow on pc stadium neutral stage platforms where can they go? most people either tech away or di away from the dthrow on platforms. dthrow on platforms is a free hit most of the time.

NJ your sig just mindgamed the **** out of me.

Anyway, on topic: stop asking questions and start playing. If you get people to give you specific answers on what to do in whatever very specific situation like you're doing now, then you'll become a computer that gets ***** because you do the exact same thing every time. Just play, react, and think. Try stuff out for yourself. Do some actual thinking and come up with a solution to your problem. I'm not saying don't ask questions, but definitely do not try this kind of thing; it'll never work, no matter how much you try.

EDIT: read this. http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=224987

Not to put you down or anything; don't take it the wrong way. I just think you need to be told this.

Ever tried dthrow on a platform tech chase > upsmash?

Even when not on a platform, dthrow techchases are good when used in moderation. Jiggs can get ***** by it. Because of her terrible techroll + Fox's insane dash speed.

Back to the topic though:

Nair to shine is good but at beginning medium percents the shine won't combo (the whole "getting shined in the air imposes no hitstun when the shinee hits the ground" theory). But it usually works anyway.

Actually, one of the easiest ways to start a shine combo is when your opponent tries to grab you. Say, after you return to the stage with your illusion. He tries to grab you after your vulnerability frames wear off. And you: spotdodge > shine, and start a combo from there.

Running shine can also be good.
