Meh, the black outlines on Palutena don't seem dark enough. Despite thinking this leak is fake I still think Palutena has a good chance of being playable. If you play it safe and pick a character to "leak" many people consider a shoe-in it will seem more real.

As far as we have seen, newcomers are revealed in Nintendo Directs. (Mega Man, Villager, Rosalina)
We only have one newcomer who was revealed later on the same day as Mega Man and Villager: WFT. I guess this was more like an exception as Nintendo Directs are perfect opportunities to put in a newcomer trailer.

As it's Sakurai, Palutena could be revealed in the next Nintendo Direct, but as a leak(if the leak is true) got already out, Sakurai could also play with our expectations and imagination and wait until we are much closer to the release of SSB4.

It's possible, but I'm not sure about this. Guess we'll have to wait for next month.
Maybe his choice for a DK newcomer is Cranky because of his pogostick
If we were to get two characters from the DK series confirmed in February, I really expect a fourth character for the series in SSB4. Until now I'm just like 3 characters would be nice, while 4 would just be awesome.

As long as we get 1-2 newcomers for the DK series, I'm fine with who we get. King K.Rool, Dixie and Cranky are all three fine.

After all: Does anyone expect another character reveal for this month? There is only one week left. We still don't know when the Nintendo Direct will take place and we don't know if it were to be a global Direct or not.

^ I think the only one who might have a chance of being revealed this month is Ice Climbers next week (their anniversary is on the 30th of Jan). While anniversaries don't really seem to be a thing, the Ice Climbers don't really have anything else going for them - and I think it's safe to assume they are coming back anyway as the pairing system seems to work (Rosalina + Luma). But other than possibly that, I think we're done for the month character-wise.

...unless we get a Direct or something next week with a possible newcomer or sorts, that would mix things up a bit. But we're bound to have one in February at least so we might have to wait until then for something new.

Not in the anniversary. The truth is that reveals shoulb expected either with new games or at complete ramdom. I'm not saying an anniversary reveal will never happen but people expect them way too much, and only set themselves to denial and disappointment

Diddy would be revealed at the japanese release date which is the February 13th. Nintendo Direct as you mentionned would be an alternative, but I'm pretty sure he'll be confirmed for the japanese release date of DKCTF.

btw: Would have been nice if you had added a reason why on this specific date. Some characters are clear such as Yoshi or Diddy, but Chrom/Lucina/Ike and Lucas/Ness aren't explained. If there were a good reason you could at least write it down

I predict that we will get Diddy Kong next for Tropical Freeze. I won't be holding onto or looking at Anniversaries for character reveals, especially when Wario Land's 20th Anniversary wasn't recognized. (though you can argue that Ashley as an AT would somehow correlate to Wario Land's 20th…)

If we were to get a Nintendo Direct, more specifically a World one, this week (which I doubt that we will at this point), then I think we could get Little Mac or Palutena within "Trailer 2" or Shulk to coincide with an X trailer.

Just so you guys know, there is no release date confirmed for Yoshi's New Island in Japan so I don't think he is coming on the 14th.

I too thought of Ice Climbers possibly being revealed tomorrow but it doesn't seem Sakurai has adknowledged any anniversary besides Smash itself. It be great to see them in HD though.

I'm thinking we're going to get Diddy and a Newcomer this month (Palutena because of the Kid Icarus Focus).

The Newcomer reveals are ramping up, or at least they'll have to. If this game is coming out in Winter 2014, then we should expect a Newcomer every 2 months really. At least that's how I see it.

Diddy will be revealed alongside Tropical Freeze, and unless there are anymore big releases, that's all I see happening. I'm assuming Diddy will be shown independent of a Direct because Nintendo has covered TF enough as it is. We'll get Diddy probably the 13th, so we could very well get a Direct before or afterwards, and get a completely different veteran or Newcomer.

I still think think that the next character to be shown would likely be Diddy Kong. Or at the very least some Donkey Kong character will be shown. Personally, I just want most of the obvious characters out of the way, like Yoshi and Wario.
