Customs are not that bad IMO and I have yet to see a good reason against it other than logistics/Piston punch.

Helps a lot of the lower tiers, doesn't do as much for the high tiers. Half are actually inferior to their default counterparts.

If customs were legal, I'd keep everything default for Link but change his boomerang so he'd have his non-gale boomerang with the returning hitbox. He can actually combo with it without relying on a jab.

I'd also main custom Bowser. The flame breath that does a lot at close range and the wavesliding with his command grab.

Customs are all over the place. I don't like the false promise of "low tiers get everything, high tiers get nothing" that pro-customs try to push.

Try as I might, I must admit DIddy's customs aren't that amazing. But, I do think Sheik, Rosalina, Sonic, Ness, Wario, Villager all get notable things

Do they all get notable things that just help them camp better?

Only if you reserved, unless you get super lucky. I will be checking out a few to see if any have extras...

Old man. You never answered my question earlier. Why do you hate customs? I'm curious.
Go read this thread from page 1 and you should be caught up on everything for the most part.

Edit: Also, travel down the first page and you will see a link to the brawl houston thread. VERY TASTY thread.

Do you think Shulk will be useable for XBC2? I know it works with XBC for 3ds.

If Nintendo is smart, it will have some sort of functionality to promote Amiibo sales, even if it is something optional. Of course if there is a shortage, then it won't matter...

I'm asking because I have an unopened Samus Amiibo I'm waiting to find a Reason to use. If Shulk is useable in XBC2 Id def get one.

Just train the Samus amiibo in Smash. Shulk will probably have some use, if you can find one.

Since smash doesn't really force you to use certain moves towards your opponent, I'd argue that many of the moves that improve your odds when approaching can also be used to improve your odds when running away. Wario's Speedy Bike, VIllagers Pushy Loid and Sonic's Hammer spindash all aid in approaching and camping I'd think.

Many custom projectiles are designed to break through walls (all the "piercing" ones) which can be used to launch a zoning character or be used to...stuff approaches I guess.

The only moves I can think of that are geared towards only offense or defense are Timber Counter (not really viable to approach with), Wizard Foot Dive (it can get around walls, but its not a usable escape option like Bikes, Spindashes etc.) and any of the moves that are just armored approaches.

For some characters, a certain sacrifice can give new combos that even the playing field against stronger characters. Marth/Lucina has grab combos into custom Up B that kills. Robin has some new tricks like ranged shield locks into nosferatu, but im not sure its worth it just to look cool.

Palutena and Villager are my only real concerns. I think they could be oppressive at opposite ends of the spectrum. VIllager's powerful zoning game and Palutena can't really be kept out by anyone.

Well, there goes every old gen's inbox.

I could live without customs honestly, just would be interesting to see how the metagame changes. Looks like there are plenty of both types of tournaments happening anyway.

**** I forgot about Rosalina's customs

Link's power bow custom is good on FD cus opponents have no platforms to land on. Kills at 80-90 from the center

There is no rule for "overliking posts." That would be akin to facebook banning people who like everything they read.

Ok guys. I don't want to have a bad rep here so I'm going to stop liking everything from 2008. Looks like my dream of being a mod has come to an end. Sorry for all of the notifications, old man. Don't ban me from TGC please.
