I remember someone mentioned hitmonchan and hitmonlee for brawl, and I thought it was very cool idea. I think hitmonchan and hitmonlee would fit in SSB esecially because they are fightning type pokemon, and SSB is a fightning game afterall.

Possible move set for hitmonchan:

up b = sky upper cut
down b = counter
left/right b = fire/ice/thunder punch. Element comes out randomly.
b = focus punch

tap A button continously = mach punch

Possible move set for Hitmonlee:

up b = high jump kick
down b = reversal. Imagine being at or above 100% and having a ridiculously stong attack :chuckle: .
left/right b = jump kick
b = rolling kick

Of all the pokemon ideas ive seen to add I think the hitmon-, blaziken, and ditto to be the best thought out ones. Hitmons and blaziken are humanoid porportions and are fighting types. I think a fighting type would work in smash. And ditto as a charade character.

reversal.....considering most matches people are upwards of 150% before they die..... *shudders* that sounds painfull.

I personally think "The more the merrier" and Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee would be great fighters for pokemon but I doubt they'll make the cut :(
And Blaziken wouldnt be so bad either

Hah, now that would be sick. I'd love to see the hitmons in smash.

Oh my god, not more Pokemon!

Seriously, there is literally hundreds of Pokemon that would be suitable for battle, but this is NOT a Pokemon game! Get original, think of other character ideas... with all of the OTHER character topics that exist already.

I believe that Pikachu and Jigglypuff are enough... but the addition of someone popular like Meowth would be all right with me.

Why does it have to be popular? Are YOU trying to sell a game? NO, you dont work for Nintendo. Pichu and mewtwo werent even popular at the time melee came out, gold/silver and the mewtwo movie came out like 3-4 years b4 melee.

Huh? Mewtwo was pretty popular from what I remeber. Hell when I was young I dont remeber anyone liking jigglypuff. I though they just put him in because at that time he was semi-important in the show.

Visiting from above.
Jigglypuff was huge in Japan.

Personally, I don't care for Hitmonchan, but I love Hitmonlee. I think lee would be a great addition to the game.

At first I thought that it was kind of a bad idea (they seem kinda bland to me) but after reading those movesets, I must say you've converted me.

No love for Hitmontop though? I suppose it's to be expected XD

To the person who said there are too many Pokemon: complain about too many Mario or Zelda characters and we'll talk (otherwise you're saying it to simply hate on Pokemon or you're a hypocrite. Sorry :/ ).

yeah I thought these characters would be cool and I'm glad that other people do to. But I don't think that hitmontop is a great idea.

If Hitmonchan was in the game, then there would be no use for Little Mac(2 characters with boxing gloves? NEVER!). So no Hitmonchan.

Both are great ideas and I have been thinking of this idea too :chuckle:

Other fighting pokemon would be good too(ex: Blaziken, Machoke/Machamp, Medichamam even that new guy Lukario, supposedly he,s a Steel/Fighting)

These two would make great characters for Brawl, although with the whole "Hitmonchan=no Little Mac thing", maybe they should just stick with lee. Hitmonlee was one of my favourites in the original Pokémon game (apart from the fact that he was a dead duck against psychics, and most of friends had Lvl100 psychics...), and the fact that he's a fighting pokémon means that he's better adapted to Brawl than say, Arcanine (really bad example, I know, but I was thinking on the spot). He also stands on two legs, and all of his moves would be kicks, him having no arms, which would be pretty **** original

worthless, worthless, worthless.

i'd much rather see a unique pokemon you would enjoy seeing sakurai create a moveset for, than the one you can already predict because it's a freaking fighting type pokemon... >__<;

what?! every thing you said was purely crap!! just simply crap!! Every pokemon HAVE MOVES PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW WHAT THEY DO! Blastoise has water atks, charizard has fire atks, no fudging **** people expect a fighting pokemon to have fighting moves or the moves they learn while they level up!

Why would there be no use for little mac? so what if they have boxing gloves, fox and falco both have guns and they are in melee.

I'm now thinking Eevee would be the best pokemon to include in Brawl.

Sorry, but I just don't think fighting type pokemon are that interesting, sure it's a fighting game, but fighting pokemon would generally just be generic fighters that have some flashy moves IMO.

Sure, only doing kicks would be unique, but a character with limitations like Arcanine would be more interesting because they could not do traditional type moves.

Anyhow, I like Eevee, as a transformation character that transforms into its Eons or Eeveelutions (I'll be doing a thread with details later tonight after I get home), it is unique, it is interesting, and it introduces a new character type with great variety of clones (treat each Eeveelution as a clone of the others, with different speed/strength etc and one specialised attack), the clones being all part of the same character so they don't take up more spots and basically allows for a lot more than a fighting type pokemon could.

there are enough melee-esque nintendo characters already in the game.
you don't need a freaking hitmon family in the game when you already have a bunch of hand combat fighters like capt. falcon, shiek, ganondorf, etc.

i'd much rather see a non-fighting type pokemon from the series.
aka meowth, who is the next deserving icon of pokemon.

For the most part, they seem to include only 'personality' Pokemon in Smash Bros. Pikachu, Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Mewtwo were all fairly prominent in outside media, becoming "personalities". Meowth seems to be next in line, and would be an interesting character.

I liked Hitmonlee's effect in the original Smash, but he was replaced by Schizor in Melee, and might be replaced by someone else in Brawl.

I will tell ya what. There needs to be at least one more pokemon. But it should be a cool one. And there is only one more pokemon that is cool enough to enter the new game. Lickitung. He is awesome. Yoshi needs a rival lizard with a tongue.

I dont think likatung is a lizard. And Yoshi only uses his tongue in his B attack ang throws.

No no. Lickitung would be great! Much better then hitmonlee or hitmonchan.

He would be medium weight, on the heavier side with good range. Of course the fat lizard would have a slow running speed and short jumps.

A,A,A: Left cross, Right cross and then an upward lick with his big tongue
>A: A horizantal smack with his tongue
vA: Crouches down and swirls around, hitting with his tail
^A: Swirls his tongue upwards in a semi-cicrle

Running A: Top half of his tongue sticks to the floor, lifting his body briefly in the air as he glides on his tongue across the floor. Leaves a slippery trail of saliva that messes up other characters traction causing them to slip at high percents. Trail disappears quickly.

Smash A: Leans back on his tail and then propels forward, feet first
Down Smash: Attacks top of tongue to the floor and swirls his massive body around his anchor, kicking people on both sides as he makes a revolution
Up Smash: Swirls his tongue in three semi-cricles similar to Link's up smash. Rains down spit as he flails his tongue.

B: Spits out a glob of sticky saliva that forms a bubble on the floor. Only one bubble allowed at a time, stays for a few seconds. Other characters get stuck if they touch it. Duration depends on percentage.

^B: Uses his tongue like a helicopter. Great horizantal recover

Everything you mentioned became moves, not characters. In my opinion, Hitmonlee and hitmonchan mainly won't make it because they are almost never in the Anime

New Hitmonchan Moveset:
B (Brick Break) - Hitmonchan breaks any shields (that in turn stuns the opponent), but with a LOT of lag afterwards. (Think Jigglypuff's sing, and how you don't have much time to do anything afterwards.)
^B (Agility) - Hitmonchan stops falling (or whatever he's doing at the moment) and looks as if he is standing on the ground (only in most cases he's in the air). He then sharply bends his needs and jumps far into the direction you want him to go to.
<>B (Elemental punches)- A little like Marth/Roy's sword dance. The only thing is Hitmonchan stays in the same place as he does the attack. It is also much the same as Samus' up flamethrower, only to the side instead. The first punch is the Fire Punch, positioned Northwest/NE. The second one is the Thunder Punch, positioned W/E. The third and final, with excellent knockback, is the Ice Punch. 12.5% of being frozen.
vB (Counter) - Marth. Think Marth.

Sorry for bumping, but I didn't want to make a new thread.
