Hit Percentage

What's your average?

I usually get between 40 and 60 when I'm concentrating. When I'm really focusing on the hit percentage I have peaked at 78.

Does anyone know the intracacies of how this score is calculated? Is it as simple as moves that hit count for and moves that are blocked or whiffed count against? What about multi-hit moves and projectiles?

I feel like this thread has been done before but I'm curious.

Yeah that's basically the premise of it. And since we all like to run around, space attacks just for field position, and show off tech skill between stocks, the hit percentage is never accurate. If someone could change the code to only acknowledge attempted attacks as within a certain distance from the opponent, then maybe.

Cactuar told me he gets 90 sometimes.

Have you ever tried not whiffing any moves? It feels horrible.

Good to know it's bull**** and not accurate. I only got close to 80 from doing CGs and being a little ****. I was shield pressuring with fox and had to space out of it so I could stop losing my score. It's a dumb figure then huh...

your hit percentage is really reliant on your char. just because a move isnt hitting doesn't mean it is not doing some important spacing. that said, i play marth and usually get around 65%

Yeah, that was back when I would play to very specifically keep my hit percentage high as a form of practice. It stays between 40-60% in normal games last I checked.

I have never checked or compared this statistic

and I probably won't.

The only statistic I've ever really payed attention to is Damage Given/Damage Taken in teams.

Yeah I was letting myself die rather than recovering to keep my % up.

I have been using this as a practice technique and I CANNOT get 90, it's so hard.

Even Mewtwo's or SoPo's Up-B. They don't even have hitboxes. WTF?
