I recently re-discovered those two Smash Tutorial videos by Lucien. They were really insightful and helpful to me as a novice, and they have overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Are there any knowledgeable players who would be interested in recording semi-regular Melee tutorial/tips videos? General advice, character specific, tournament advice, whatever. I'm sure there are enough players who would be watch regularly. This would also help newer players get into the game, which has been a huge issue for the community.

Brawl has something similar in GimR's Metagame Minute, which he did a dozen episodes for. The last episode was on anti-planking tactics. Talk about the death of Brawl.

I don't imagine anything this edited, but simply having an experienced player talking while demonstrating some basic concepts would be really helpful to the community. Also, you could probably monetize the Youtube account for some cash, but idk how much that would pull in.

I (and other ppl, hopefully) would totally be willing to throw down some money to pay for recording equipment, if there was a guarantee of some actual product. As a random scrub, I'm much more willing to pay for that than for somebody's plane ticket.

lol, i'm not really looking for that

to actually make good videos you'd need someone who knows what da fok they're doing in video editing, as well as multiple pro players input needed for tougher lessons.

i'd love to contribute!! but it begins with someone who is actually good at video production willing to spearhead the project (and shoulder lots of the work)

Would you really need that much video editing? The Lucien vids are just him talking into a mic with someone on P2 to help demonstrate stuff. I've been able to record vids and commentary with a ****ty $20 cap card and $10 of cables. Tacking on text, transitions, and music is easy enough in windows movie maker; I'm sure there's better freeware **** out there too.

I'd be willing to do basic editing stuff if nobody else wants to.

V3ctorman where you at?
I feel the same way Oscar I've been planning on making some videos like Lucien, or a Falco guide. I'll never do it lol. I know nothing about video editing, ugh.

I would totally donate money to anybody who actually starts working on a kind of smash tutorial series...
iirc, gimpyfish did something similar as well a few years back (although I think it was for multiple different fighting games and mostly cover the concept of spacing and reading and positive attitude/adapting or something like that)

I'd love to do something like this--

As much as I want the videos to have professional-level video editing and stuff I think having SOMETHING is going to be better than wishing for something we can't have (unless we can? =P) Also I don't think there's ever really been anything written on positioning (though I may be wrong). Anyway I'd be down to contribute.
