Same, though I just mainly thought it weird that any other game would be represented in P5R cross promotion. It's nice to see though, and who knows, maybe there is some secret connection P5R has to P3 and P4. Doubt it, but who knows?

I wouldn't expect any direct references, but maybe some more worldbuilding that ties Metaverse better to the lore established by previous games?

After all, most of the exposition in The Answer was about how P4 and P3 make sense according to each other.

I didn't know that was a thing in The Answer(Have never played it), but I guess that would make sense considering the release dates. I could see some worldbuilding happen, especially since the Metaverse is getting expanded on. When it comes to more direct refrences, the idea of Ame-no-sagiri appearing in P5R was brought up in the Kasumi thread, but you did note that he didn't appear in PQ2 despite similar imagery. Really, the most I expect when it comes to very direct cameos is possibly a hint at what Elizabeth is currently doing in regard to a certain blue haired protag and maybe a direct Investigation Team cameo.

Got past Palace 4 (I brought Queen to the boss battle, but I completely forgot she had an ability that dealt with Despair, and Joker kept getting despaired... If I weren't playing on Easy I might've thrown in the towel and switched to Safety). Haven't not played it a single day since I first tried it. I don't think I can put it down until the credits roll. Even then, I have Royal to look forward to. I hope it comes to Switch in a year's time or so, but while it's still a PS4 exclusive I'm gonna eat it up. (I named my Joker Ren Amamiya because I wanted to keep immersion, same with sticking with the Phantoms name. Thinking Joseph Kerwan and Heartthrobs for the next playthrough, whenever that may be.)

I might be a little worried about playing on Easy since I don't need to use debuffs or buffs very often, but I do think that if I'm aware those become important or flat out vital to success on Normal+, I'm fine. Safety is my "I just want to experience this lovely world" button I'm reserving for if I can't get past a boss.

I initially came in expecting to attempt romancing Sakura, but let's just say, how can you easily get Debonair level Charm? Asking for a friend. (Can you guess who I think Joker should be with now?) Also, I already know a few things, so I want to know this more than anything else: what is the cutoff day for when you can have a romance, little to no explaining why?

I'm glad you're enjoying the game! The dedicated way to increase charm is to spend time in the bathhouse, which is just outside of LeBlanc. It is especially effective on Mondays, Thursdays, and when it rains.

I believe the final day for maxing confidents is December 19th. You will have time, so don't panic.

As of today, I can officially consider Persona 5 to be a new member of the games I've beaten club, as well as the first PS4 game I have... actually it's the third, Minecraft Story Mode Seasons 1 and 2 were the first.

I've heard mixed opinions on the ending but I absolutely loved it. It is gonna be a drastic step forward, though...

The highlight for me wasn't Satanael or Sinful Shell, though. It was Makoto's Valentine's Date. She was, and is, the only one I can ship with Joker. It's also nice hearing the real Igor speak. I think Akechi is probably dead, but it's sad there's no official resolution to it (like a corpse, or a message that he's in hiding). I think Satanael would've made for an awesome transformational FS, but I wouldn't give up the All Out Attack for anything. I wish I could have AOA'd Yaldabaoth, though. He was also disappointingly easy, compared to even Akechi and Shido (where I barely scraped by first try), or Wakaba (who actually kept kicking my ass because I forgot Makoto had the skill that cured Despair).

Royal speculation is gonna be tough, though.

I mean, my current theory is that this is Joker's dream. Everything that's happening here is Joker dreaming while he's in Juvie for Sae to have a better case against Shido. That's why Akechi is alive and present, that's why Kasumi joins, that's why Haru/Makoto/Futaba never lost their parents, that's why Morgana is a human, that's why Ryuji is back on track, that's why Shiho is perky and still in Tokyo, and most importantly of all, that's why the Metaverse, and thus Joker as Joker, and access to their Personas, are all still around. I'm taking everything that happens after Christmas with a grain of salt. However, if you max Akechi and Kasumi's confidants, it turns out they really were alive and your allies. After all, I don't believe we've seen footage of Akechi post-Casino pre-Yaldabaoth in the party, and apparently the story will be unchanged up to the Day of Reckoning, if not outright up to Valentine's. If there is footage of Akechi or Kasumi in the PT gang before the day of reckoning, then whoops, guess it's official.

Oh, and by the way, I'll be showing my newfound appreciation for this game in the best way I can!

We have seen Kasumi in the Casino. She has above-average HP and we see her awaken to her persona in the new palace though, so it seems likely that she's running around without a persona.

That said, it is definitely agreed that it is some sort of dream world - I believe Akechi even directly refers to it as such. I would be surprised if it was a literal dream of Joker's though; it seems much more likely to me that there is some sort of metaverse wish-granting going on that does effect the real world, but has all of its effects undone before the end of the game.

It's also worth noting that Yaldabaoth is from a theology with two gods and only one of them turns up in P5. So, I wouldn't be shocked if we end up killing another god by the end of it.

Welp. I guess I will get Puyo Puyo Champions on PC in addition to Switch... Seriously though, this mod sounds awesome. I do hope we get more Puyo Puyo x Persona collabs in the future, as the couple PPQ have had were awesome.

In 2 weeks, there's going to be news on P5 Scramble. Whether if it's a trailer, gameplay footage, or an announcement of an announcement, I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for this game.

Also, that Last Surprise remix from the teaser over a month ago sounds pretty dope.

Let's just say Joker (or perhaps more accurately Ryuji) is a whole lot more relatable to me now. In fact, I damn owe Joker an apology for not liking him, I finally came around.

That mod I posted? It's gonna get a revamp once the current situation I'm in has passed. A total graphical overhaul.

Well, I'm glad you find the Phantom Thieves relatable, though it's unfortunate it came to be through strife... Hopefully things look up soon!

I'm looking forward to the mod though! Mods like yours always make Puyo with friends more fun. I like the chaos of a some more mainstream recognizable characters battling Arle and company.

While this is objectively very funny, I don't know if being the best-selling Wii U game on Amazon is an indication of insanely high sales, given how the Wii U physical games market isn't that competitive in 2019. I'm sure some people are buying it due to the controversy, but I wouldn't take this to mean it is being bought in droves or anything.

Yeah, definitely. I am incredibly surprised by the breadth of content it looks like it'll have. Morgana turning into a bus for an attack is also something that I hadn't considered as possible, even if it is very obvious in retrospect. Super cool.

I also notice that the special edition currently has no revealed box design, which makes me think they are still hiding something...

True haha. Also, weirdly, Shibuya 109 seems to be the first dungeon of both TMS#FE and P5S! So, that's fun.

Considering the warriors games usually have truck loads of DLC and big rosters I'm sure down the line well see the investigation team and SEES join in on this game.

For those of you interested in Persona 5 Scramble, there's an upcoming ARPG with a similar aesthetic and visual novel elements called Dusk Diver. I think it's worth checking out.


With that being said, that recent P5 Scramble trailer looks great! It seems more Persona than musou, which is nice. I can't wait to use Ann. The game looks like it'll be worth it for the story alone.

DLC for sure! I see some people are predicting Investigation Team, SEES, and also P1/2 characters in the base game though... which... um... I don't expect this game will be larger then Hyrule Warriors is after 3 versions with 2 DLC cycles on launch...
