All-Out Attack is here, as expected. And my gal even gets to be a background spectator! That's a pleasant surprise.

RIP Persona 1 and 2 though, they can't even get music.

And the realistic gun rule being broken means good things for a certain request of mine...

Oh, there is going to be some rage over the fact that the only party member reference in his alts is of a certain pancake boy. Not from me though.

To be fair, the rest of the crew get actual appearances on the Stage, Mona is in his taunt and victory screen, and I think somebody pointed out that the three memebrs that join in for all-Out Attack are random?

The least they could do for Mr. Pancake was give him an Alt lol.

Recent leaks for what Persona 5 Royal along with Persona 5s have hinted at her being a playable character, but not the main character, so she igth not actually be a Joker alt.

Believe that she is a bit too much and you'll be setting yourself up for a Grinch Leak all over again

Ok, so initial impressions.

First immediate thought is that he's what we get if Cloud and Bayo had a baby.

Second, he seems to not have much knockback in base for....like at all. His Smashes are also slow. Clearly meant to be augmented by Arsene

Speaking of whom, looks like he will need to be relied upon for kills.

On to moves:

Dash comes out real quick with the one two, and covers a lot of distance. Might not be bad

Jab is a three hit combo

Ftilt is double hitting thrust that looks to have good range.

Utilt seems to have a really strong hitbox above his head.

Dtilt is a slide. This is never not useful.

Fsmash makes me think Falco. Might be useful as a risky neutral tool

Did anyone see Usmash?

Nair's got a decent hitbox size, but seems to have landing lag.....if not in Arsene mode.

Uair is the 'speedy' character special of a leg drill. Again, this seems to never not be useful

GUN DOES NOT HAVE HITSTUN AT RANGE IT IS NOT A ZONING TOOL. However, it does at short range.

Grappling Hook's grab is a combo starter. Range is massive, might be oppressive in juggle situations.

Eiha, and Eihagon look.........bad. I don't know what to make of them.

I like that nair or fair is a multi hit move. I was hoping for one and it actually happened :O

I wont like im kinda bummed about no jane sighting.

Who cares? You can still use the traitor and manslut as a punching bag to vent out your frustrations.

I will say though, I'm not surprised there's been no tease at the end, so I guess we might hear about the second pass character within a couple months.

He actually honestly feels like a thief/rogue character. Jumping around doing little hits and poisoning too.

I am glad I remembered this.

You know, it's a shame that the music is likely going to be limited to just P5. It's an amazing soundtrack, don't get me wrong, but there are plenty of P3 and P4 tracks that would be great for a Smash battle. If I could just choose just one though...

Every part about Joker's reveal was freaking amazing! His playstyle looks really fun, that Beneath the Mask remix sounds amazing, and Mementos actually ended up being a really cool stage idea. The color scheme changing based on which game the music is from is also an awesome touch. I was already deadset on maining Joker when he was revealed and this just solidifies that decision even further.

4 months ago, anyone asking for Joker would have been written off faster than somebody asking for Goku.

He looks good without being ridiculously over-powered which would have upset the 3% of people who claim that he's a stupid addition. That persona gauge means his abilities are enhanced only for a short while, and with his normal abilities not looking super strong on their own, the boost doesn't completely break him. It's a fantastic balance that they likely took their time tinkering with over the last several months to avoid another Bayonetta scenario.

Will some people be angry? Yeah, of course, but those people; the people who are legitimately angry (and not just blowing their minor disappointment out of proportion) will never be satisfied by anything they say they want; they're just trying to drag everyone else out of their high so someone can share in their constant misery for no reason.

I can't believe they made Mementos interesting... By basing it more off of the map art.

Anyway, that is all pretty cool. Love that all of the Phantom Thieves get a chance in the spotlight and all the UI details they put in. Though the lack of Jane surprised me. We got a uniform alt, but no Jane to be seen. Weird.

it's absolutely perfect, i was disappointed they would just use the dull background setting of mementos or couldn't use the casino as a stage, what they actually ended up using was the UI for the game which is 100% unique and possibly better than those

Honestly I wouldn't mind, Joker thread needs to have something they'll never see coming seeing as early month Direct expectations are rock-bottom right now.

Truth. I mean, there is a user that did in fact shoot down people's hopes down here on page 12, despite the fact that they were just dreaming, shortly before the reveal happened. The wealth of content in here is good enough, anything more would have been gravy anyway.

That being said, the sense of balance shown for Joker paints good things in regards to upcoming DLC characters, especially if people ask for at least one extra pass...

1) They scrapped jane as an alph costume and want to give more costumes once she's revealed.
2) They scrapped jane as a costume and made her a bonus echo fighter once she's revealed.
or
3) One of the 'regular' costumes will be replaced with her for one slot

That'd be nice. 8-slots limitation does get in the way, tho.

It'd honestly be a pretty lame reason to entirely scrap. The best of both worlds would literally be that they decided to keep all of the joker costumes to have her somewhere else. That's the only hope i can hold on to lol.

Plus every Phantom Thief, the All Out Attack, the Shujin uniform, Rivers In The Desert, a stage based on the ****ing UI, and his gun - things people would've seen as totally impossible and it's ****ing here! Good Lord, that is the coolest victory screen; the music/background changes are a nice touch as well.

This was a love letter... all of it. I'm not even going to make an essay or anything. I am in awe; so much care was put into this. The P3/P4 representation was a nice touch. I got Ann in Smash (as well as the other Phantom Thieves) in some capacity... YES. Just... Yes!!!

Smash has broken through that limit before. Perhaps they wanted to keep things equal in alts for base game content.
