Not that this affects Joker directly, but for anyone predicting one of the spots to go to Steve, Vergeban now says the Minecraft content is a boss and not a character, so that's one more open space for Joker. I also feel like this indirectly raises his chances because every expected character (probably) deconfirmed is good news for unexpected characters.

Of all the possible persona crossovers, puyo puyo is not one I expected. Atlus really is pushing Joker every chance they get aren't they?

You also have that fire emblem x persona game too. There was a P5 skin for robin in smash 4 (https://gamebanana.com/wips/46428) Theres also the whole thing where sakurai was really interested in p5 and made menus like p5's stylish ones, so kinda another point there.

Sweet! Now I need to tell my friend who has a modded Wii U that he should have included Joker... He did have Naoto over top of Zero Suit Samus though, so he gets some points.

I think one thing that helps Joker's chances is the lack of other new 3ds games. Nintendo is still supporting the 3ds. They're claiming they hope to continue supporting it for a while still. Yet there's virtually nothing still releasing on it. Persona Q2 doing well would be vital for the dying system. I think Nintendo would want to advertise this game over almost any other third party game coming to their systems, because it's basically all the 3ds has. And you can bet Joker in smash would sell PQ2 better than just about any other 3rd party character would sell their game because, while persona has been on nintendo, has had a crossover with fire emblem, might have more games on the way, and branches off from a series with strong ties to nintendo, PQ2 would be most nintendo fans first introduction to Joker. Smash could easily double the sales of PQ2 or more, which Nintendo really needs.

So, the dancing games are reviewing quite well! Seems like everyone agrees they're pretty darn good spin-off titles if nothing else.

Derrick of GameXplain even took a break from the Smash Ultimate coverage to review it, so that's neat!

I already played the Japanese versions because I have an unhealthy obession with both rhythm games and the Persona OST, but I am very excited to know what was going on in the surprisingly large amount of dialogue I had to fast forward through (even if it doesn't have the borderline-absurdist storyline of Persona 4 Dancing All Night).

I never understood why people don't like Ryuji. He's just such a nice guy. I remember first thinking that when the party gets out of the metaverse after rescuing Ann. Everyone is just hanging out and Ryugi walks over with two pops. I figure one's for me or Ann and the other's for him. Then he hands one to both of us. Didn't even get one for himself. I couldn't dislike him after that.

ATLUS seems to get the favor returned quite a bit. Radiant Historia and Strange Redux were advertised pretty well this year, and SMTV was a huge deal at the Switch showcase. I really think him, Monster Hunter, and Geno have a really good shot amongst other 3rd parties.

Ryuji is a flawed and dumb teenage boy. Realistically written. Neither flawless nor vile, just like the rest of the party. They all have their hearts in the right place despite their flaws and I love them for it.

How do you guys think the reveal trailer would go? Obviously there's a very limited budget. The most cg we got for a dlc trailer last time was Ryu. I always picture Bayonetta being involved somehow, but that's all I've got.

Personally, I really hope they throw in a DLC character that will blow everyone's minds like with Cloud, a character that no one was speculating and thought possible. Joker has the potential to be one of those characters!

I dunno if we can be sure that spirits deconfirm characters until the DLC starts getting announced... It just seems unlikely that they would be willing to write off over a thousand Nintendo characters, unless the DLC is going to literally be all third-parties.

I have lots of ideas for Joker, for example, one of the ideas was him using Orpheus & Izanagi in his moveset along with Arsene.
