Wow, first off they start as just NOT believable, now you guys are actually making them slightly more believabe.

But alas, you suck. Just like the rest of them.

Why do you suck you ask?

Because if Nintendo were going to announce ANYTHING to do with Brawl they would do it VIA one of their websites or at an event. Thats how to build hype, thats how to show off your game.

Not by 'contacting' some video game store about how theirs gonna be a demo within two weeks.

Lets face the facts, if Nintendo were going to release a demo, WHY would they tell gameshops? Are they planning to sell the demo? Will they give it away with a game for free? Why aren't they telling the public?

In all honesty Nintendo does NOT contact a single store about game developments or soon to come 'demos' because that has nothing to do with the store.

The store sells the games, nothing more, nothing less.

Theres a Tokyo game show in a week, that'll have some info about Brawl.

In conclusion.

There will be no demo in two weeks, you're talking out of your backside.

You suck.

Nintendo reps regularly visit Gamestop stores to update marketing and the video game kiosks. Maybe the representative had some info and decided to slip some info his way?

I could see this as being true. It's not totally unbelievable. The first screenshots I ever saw of the Wii were from a Nintendo Rep at the Walmart I used to work at, so information like this is definitely plausible. We'll just have to see.

Those may be pluasable Marketting methods, but that doesn't mean that Nintendo doesn't advertise directly. Just like with the Wii and its games, they were advertised before launch of the product. Even though it may seem alittle unlikely, it's technically possibe if it's a few weeks(After September 5th).

Not by 'contacting' some video game store about how theirs gonna be a demo within two weeks.

Nintendo often has representatives visit Gamestop and EBgames for their products. That's how alot of people were able to play the Nintendo Wii weks before the actual launch of the system.

Another thing, Nintendo hasn't been known to sell their products with demos. Most of their demo products have been tested/displayed in kiosk at game stores. You claim to know how Nintendo would obviously advertise their games, so why would you claim these "facts" considering that Nintendo has never used these advertising methods before?

In all honesty Nintendo does NOT contact a single store about game developments or soon to come 'demos' because that has nothing to do with the store.

The store sells the games, nothing more, nothing less.
Nintendo representatives do not just visit a single store, there are several representatives. Why would you think one representative would be responsable for informing the gamestops all across the nation? Use your brain.

Theres a Tokyo game show in a week, that'll have some info about Brawl.

In conclusion.

Nintendo is not attending TGS this year.

Maybe.

Personally, I believe the guy. This sounds believable. Just think, he's not one of those serious trolls who's all business and whatnot. This guy sounds laid back, and well, excited.

He's even going to get us screens =] .

Well, hes promising us some screens and told us a plausible story that is true else where.

Not a fake yet, expecting more. But theres still some chances of failure.

Let us know when it comes in!

Having the job I do I'll point out a few things about this posters choice of words:

1. "Hey, I just talked to our Nintendo rep... " was his choice for a title.

People since the age of around 10 know that to get you're point across from a title, that you put you're main topic on there(which in this case is the demo). This pattern in people is completely self-concious since you learn a bit about english writting. But yet, this guy put "Hey blank blank blank..." he really wanted to input there that he talked to someone in his title because that was what was on his head when making the main topic. In his head he wasn't thinking "Oh wow, im so excited about this demo I'm going to make a topic about it!" it was "Better make people think this is believable". Also the addition with the "..." makes it so he wanted to leave the topic with a little mystery. Why? You guys try to find that out on your own.

2. "She then said, in a very hushed voice (so this is not "official") that it would house a small Brawl demo. That's all she said, "a small Brawl demo".

Okay, this one's a bit obvious, guys. Examine a real life situation where two real people are talking. If he asks her what's on it, she wouldn't hesistate and instantly word her next phrase in hush form and say "house a small brawl demo". I'd believe it more if she said other things along with this, or went more into depth about it slightly, but just hushing that isn't realistic. Either this guy is summarizing himself insanely or he's a full blown lie.

3. How is he all friendly friendly when he has 6 posts? Really now. Come on. He just happen to come across smashboards? Please don't blind yourself with the "He's never wanted to make an account until now". Why so friendly and reassured with a first post though...

This is just something to consider. I personally don't believe him in the least. But I don't expect this to sway everyone because like life itself, everything could have actually been this way, or another certain way or blah blah blah. You catch the drift.

Hello all, I just got back from the mall.

I asked several Gamestop representatives, and there was no plans of any representatives visiting Gamestop or EBgames reguarding a Super Smash Bros Brawl demo. The only time a Nintendo representative came was for the Metroid Prime 3 demo.

I went to 2 EBgames and 1 Gamestop, all of the same answer.

There is no demo, case closed.

Hey guys. I work at our local GameStop and our Nintendo rep stopped by today right before I got off. She mentioned officially that there will be a new Wii demo disk, but hesitated when I asked her what would be on it. She then said, in a very hushed voice (so this is not "official") that it would house a small Brawl demo. That's all she said, "a small Brawl demo". She wouldn't answer any other questions, but I talked to my manager and asked when the new demo disk was scheduled to arrive...he said they're supposed to be in the system in 2 weeks time, but we would be getting them sometime this weekend!

I work tomorrow and the next day so I'll let you guys know more info when I hear it. I know a manager who is just as excited as I am about Brawl, so chances are some night when I'm closing with him he'll let me pop it into our demo unit and give it a shot (I hope!).

Please stop. The hoax threads were funny at first but now you guys are running it into the ground. We need more Sakurai impersonators, or maybe a Reggie.

Meh, I'd rather these stories than the most recent ones, "I was hired as a freelancer designer for Brawl, I made the curry item!!! there is no brawl! my uncle works for nintendo."
This is because he's not yelling, "YOU ALL SHALL SEE THAT I PWNAGE CUZ MY INSIDE CONECT1ON TELLS ME A BR4WL D3M0000!!!!!" He's saying that it's a possibility and letting everyone know that it is an isolated rumor.

At least with these I can get a little hope back in the fact that not all people are complete naive *******.

............It's been 5 pages in this thread and the guy who created it still hasn't given us sufficent evidence? One can conclude that he's lying indefinitely.

5 pages, yes, but only about 10 hours. :ohwell:

People do have to sleep and stuff. Plus, he said the demo hadn't come in yet. In his first he said it might be "sometime this weekend".

He still could be lying, I'm just saying give him the chance to actually help his case before jumping him.

For me it's only two pages...

I think it's lame how the cool thing to do on this forum now is to reject people's claims that they have information as quickly and brutally as possible. I believe in the concept that until you know something 100% that you should never be 100% confident in your opinions, and then, actually, that it's impossible to know something is 100% true. I doubt all of these informant threads, but with varying degree's of suspicion. This thread is the most plausible one yet. Despite the critical analysis of his syntax I feel that this kid seems genuine.

Do people not realize that posting "you suck" in response to something like this is going to be really embarrassing when this kid throws down a screen shot? Maybe it wont happen...but maybe it will, and that unknown is not really worth putting your rep on the line for.

Just needed to quote EPF again. And why is this thread still open? Unless the thread starter doesn't come back in the next few days, I call it a hoax. And I bet ya he's laughing his a** off right now. I know why it seems plausible, but people, Nintendo is the one making the game, so you shouldn't believe anything till Brawl when there's no proof. Believe me, it just contributes to higher expectations of the game and in case the info's proven false, to lost hopes and disappointment. Who wants that? No one. So just wait for the tidbits Nintendo releases and for Sakurai to update his DOJO page plus the thousand threads about character speculation, till Dec 3rd it's more than enough.

I can't believe people are stupid enough to believe this ****, in case you haven't noticed each and every time one of these "I know something about Brawl" topics are closed, another pops up. It is so obvious that this guy is a hoax, and I'll bet everything I own that what he's saying is complete bull****

They are Nintendo reps, they are the second lowest in staff after production and packaging. They know as much about Brawl as we do.

I'm a soon to be games developer - I know how the market works. If Nintendo was going to release a demo then they would tell the public first, in order to build hype.

Yes, but he said it will be released within the next couple of weeks. Nintendo does have a press conference in a few days, so it's not too unlikely.

I think you all need to lighten up some, posting 5 pages worth of "you suck" and "epic failure" would be great reasons were it me to not post again. Give him a chance, a couple days, it's not like he missed a deadline or something.

Just think, if you called up your friend because you had a demo for Brawl, and your friend insulted you, you wouldn't let him play it would you? You would just hang up and forget him. Same thing here, let him actually try and give us some proof or else if he does get some he might not want to show us anymore.

Did anyone else besides Bluebomber and Crystallion read my post? >_>

There is no representative coming, and will not come in the future. What are the odds that only one particular Gamestop would have a representative visit them? What are the odds that other stores would say no to this false claim? What are the odds that this spontaneous information dump would come after a wave of spam on the forums?

Seriously, think about. I regret that I believed that bull for a second.

Not to be rude, I see you do have a valid point - but having a demo and talking about a demo are two really different things.

I am well aware that their is a press conference in a few days - and if they person is right, I will apologise, but till then - he sucks. We've had 1000's of these stupid threads and it's enough.

How do you know that a rep just didn't go to the ones near you yet? Plus, what makes you any more believable than him? Reps do go to stores like he said, and with the press conference on Wednesday, a demo isn't that farfetched.

@ Kazuya

Why insult him? What is the point of that? That has no possibility to do anything at all other than make him mad, which could, in the event he was telling the truth, cause him to blow us off. I just don't get that mentality, that we must insult people who say things we think are unlikely. It's immature, stupid, and will never accomplish anything.

I've read what you said; however from the get go I knew that this was most likely a lie. It's pretty lame when trolls get people's hopes up on purpose. What he stated didn't seem to add up and my mind, and what you said only confirmed what I thought.

1. I talked to the store managers that organize the meetings of company representatives. They told me that there was never any plan of any Nintendo representatives coming within 5 weeks. The managers were from both EBgames and Gamestop.

2. The person making this claim lacks vital information ; like the location of said Gamestop.

3. I'm pretty sure that there had to be atleast 1 representative for an EBgames or a Gamestop.

I'm just going by what I was told.
