Something silly this time around.

In preparation for the launch of the Steam Deck, this alternate history of sorts features an additional launch title for the system; a tongue-in-cheek "showcase of the Deck's graphical power" in the form of an accurate "super-scaler"-like racing game, akin to Power Drift. However, while the game itself would be treated as a sort of joke, it'd also be considered loosely canon to the Half-Life universe.

Gordon Freeman needs to enter a room in Black Mesa during the events of the first game, namely to pick up a medkit - and G-Man's unable to press the button to open it, needing a second person to press the button for him. To this end, he drags objects and people from across time and creates a convoluted scheme in which a kart race takes place in different iconic Valve locations, all culminating with the winner crashing into the button and allowing Gordon to pick up the medkit. The caveat to this is that the stolen things must not have a large effect on the timeline if destroyed, meaning main characters and the like can't be included. (Don't ask how any of these guys can drive a kart.) The resulting lineup is...

valveracers.png
  • Headcrab (Half-Life) - Not actually in control of a scientist this time around. It takes control of opponents it beats on the victory screen.
  • Civil Protection Officer (Half-Life 2) - Will constantly toss cans at opponents directly in front of it.
  • Sentry Gun (Team Fortress 2) - The de-facto TF2 rep. It enhances itself between its three levels by coming in first place in a lap.
  • Weighted Companion Cube (Portal) - Based on its Portal design rather than Portal 2.
  • Common Infected (Left 4 Dead) - Just a normal Infected, none of the boss variants.
  • C4 Explosive (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) - The explosive itself, which detonates once a race ends and can spin out nearby players.
  • Space Sphere (Portal 2) - The first of three secret characters. Included as an actual Portal 2 candidate. Found drifting in space, rather than in Skyrim.
  • Melee Creep (DOTA 2) - The second secret character. Implied to be from the ancient past.
  • The Valve (Valve Headquarters) - Yeah, G-Man stole it. Our last secret character, requiring 100% completion.

Super Quick Roster!

Sonic & All-Stars Arcade GP!!
Basically what if Sonic did Mario Kart Arcade GP.

Roster!
16 racers, with 4 being sega guests. I considered bringing in Pac-Man or some other third-party guest but I don't think this game needs that.
  • Sonic
  • Tails
  • Knuckles
  • Shadow
  • Amy
  • Cream & Cheese
  • Vector
  • Eggman
  • Aiai (Super Monkey Ball)
  • Beat (Jet Set Radio)
  • Ulala (Space Channel 5)
  • Opa-Opa (Fantasy Zone)
Cups & Tracks!
Much like the MKGP games. Most cups are based on characters, and only have 2 tracks that are set in the same environment. The last two cups are exceptions.
  • Tails Cup - Based on Seaside Hill/Emerald Coast with a large workshop plopped in the middle. Track names are Tails Circuit & Seaside Dive.
  • Sonic Cup - A more original location that's moreso a sonic take on a classic raceway, atleast for the first track. The second track goes wildly off course. Track names are Emerald Speedway & Sonic Detour.
  • Vector Cup - Set in a chaotix themed casino. Track names are Chaotix Casino & Ring Roulette.
  • Amy Cup - Set in a pleasant mountainside village holding a fair. Inspired by visuals from the IDW comics. Track names are Rose Town & Piko Piko Summit.
  • Shadow Cup - A dark and mysterious cup set in Westopolis. The second track is under attack from the Black Arms. Track names are Radical Highway & Radical Escape.
  • Eggman Cup - Set aboard & around the Death Egg. Uses some ARK inspired visuals, intended to be the Rainbow Road of the game. Track names are Death Egg Run & Final Egg.
  • All-Star Cup - The first of two bonus cups based on other sega properties. Track names are Monkey Jungle & Shibuya Drift.
  • All-Star Pro Cup - The second bonus cup. Track names are Space Channel Drive & Fantasy Zone.

Different roster incoming, but lemme avenge the GOAT first.
Duck Hunt
  • Duck Hunt
  • Undodog & Yamamura
  • Yamper & Pidgey
  • Wolf and Chicken (Minecraft)
Now, onto the main event!

Different clapping animations
Imagined as a full-body view ala 64-Brawl. Some alts have unique animations. If a character isn't listed, they use their Ult animation.
  • Donkey Kong: Sitting down, bandaged and scratching his head in confusion (combines his death animation from DKC and the Game Over screen)
  • Samus: Waves at the victor
  • Dark Samus: Hovering in the air unconscious. Eventually explodes in a manner similar to Samus' death animation in modern Metroid titles (albeit without a ZSS equivalent)
  • Yoshi: Lying on the ground dazed, ala Tetris Attack. Lingering on the results screen causes a few Toadies to fly in and carry Yoshi off
  • Pikachu: Dizzy
  • Luigi: Clapping out of good sportsmanship, but looking at the ground out of shame
  • Captain Falcon: Claps, but stops every so often to strike a pose
  • Jigglypuff: Clearly annoyed, puffed up and scowling
  • Peach: Curtsies before clapping
  • Daisy: Folding her arms and shaking her head, clearly salty
  • Bowser: Shakes a fist, smoke billowing out of his nostrils
  • Sheik: Looks off to the side with eyes closed, ala Melee's opening
  • Zelda: Curtsies before clapping
  • Dr. Mario: Shrugs off the loss (referencing Dr. Mario's Game Over) before clapping
  • Pichu: Sits down and cries
  • Falco: Slow clapping
  • Marth: Japanese bow
  • Lucina: Japanese bow
  • Ganondorf: Kneeled over, hand resting on the ground
  • Roy: Japanese bow
  • Chrom: Japanese bow
  • Mr. G&W: Stumbles about, flickering in and out like a dying LCD screen
  • Meta Knight: Japanese bows (well, as well as he can bow) before teleporting off
  • Zero Suit Samus: A thumbs-up
  • Wario: Doesn't really seem to care, leaning against his bike and picking his nose
  • Snake: In a box
  • Ike: Japanese bow
  • Pokemon Trainer: Claps while standing next to a rest pod
  • Diddy Kong: Stomping on his hat ala his DKC1 bonus loss animation
  • Sonic: Back is turned to the camera as he shakes his head, ala the Sonic 3 continue animation. However, Sonic's good sportsmanship eventually shines through as he turns forward and starts clapping
  • King Dedede: Head turned to the side, refusing to clap. A Waddle Dee claps in his stead
  • Lucario: Japanese bow
  • ROB: Powered-down
  • Wolf: Scowls at the winner, arms behind his back
  • Wii Fit Trainer: Deep breathing
  • Rosalina: Calmly stands idle, her eyes closed in reflection. Her Luma claps in her stead
  • Little Mac: Shamefully sitting on a folding chair. Doc Louis is seen giving him a pep talk
  • Greninja: Entirely absent, a Substitute Doll in its place
  • Pac-Man: Sitting on the ground dazed, the sprites of the ghosts circling around his head
  • Robin: Japanese bow
  • Bowser Jr.: Throwing a fit next to a broken Clown Car
    • Roy: Too cool to clap, leaning on the Clown Car and scowling
    • Wendy: Huffs, stomps her foot, and turns away
    • Morton: Seemingly confused, scratching his head with his wand
    • Ludwig: Back turned to the camera
  • Duck Hunt: Dog bandaged up as the duck snickers - Half a nod to Vs. Duck Hunt, half a nod to Tom and Jerry
  • Ryu: Non-bloodied SF2 loss pose
  • Ken: Non-bloodied SF2 loss pose
  • Cloud: Japanese bow
  • Corrin: Japanese bow
  • Inkling: Throwing a tantrum. Exact animation differs between boy and girl alts
  • Ridley: Back partially turned, glaring at the victor
  • King K. Rool: Playing dead - If one looks closely, his eye occasionally opens up and looks around
  • Incineroar: Back turned to the camera, arms folded
  • Piranha Plant: Sleeping
  • Hero: Japanese bow
  • Banjo & Kazooie: Banjo claps as normal, but Kazooie shakes her head and scowls at the victor
  • Terry: Attempts to regain balance (Wild Ambition continue screen)
  • Byleth: Japanese bow
  • Min Min: Japanese bow
  • Steve: Intact, but...
    • Zombie: Seemingly absent. A piece of Rotten Flesh is hovering above the ground.
    • Enderman: Seemingly absent. An Ender Pearl is hovering above the ground.
  • Sephiroth: Back turned to the camera, ala his team battle victory pose
  • Kazuya: Stands forward with his arms crossed

Street Fighter vs. Overwatch
Inspired by the recent Street Fighter 6 costume collaboration in Overwatch 2. A flashy hyper fighter with big supers. Is all about rival battles, though not every character will match up to who their OW2 costume was. I will only detail the OW's character's gameplay because the SF characters would play how they usually do

  • Ryu \ Hanzo [Honorable men who wish to prove themselves and who wrestle with a deeper power. Hanzo would have a limited number of bows, but could sacrifice meter for more and more powerful arrows.]
  • Chun-Li \ Tracer [Female mascot characters who work as agents for a peacekeeping organization. Tracer would zip around the stage and could sacrifice meter to rewind time]
  • Ken \ Cassidy [Merica'. Ken's SF6 developments mean he CBS probably relate to Cassidy's story of having to re-find himself. Cassidy is a sharp shooter, all about playing keep away.]
  • Charlie \ Soldier: 76 [Former soldiers who where thought killed and returned to life as powerful secret agents. Soldier: 76 can rocket himself forward, which he can follow up with attacks. He can sacrifice meter for more speed.]
  • Dhalsim \ Zenyatta [Peaceful meditating guys. Zanyatta flats in place and summons orbs around him. It's all about getting past them and getting in.]
  • Zangief \ Zarya [Big Russians. Zarya is a big brawler. She uses her Particle Canon for hard hitting attacks, and can burn meter for more.]
  • Blanka \ Winston [Both animal characters who where experimented on. Winston can jump around the stage and stun opponents. He can charge up primal rage.]
  • Cammy \ Widowmaker [Women who where brainwashed into being assassins for a criminal organization. Widowmaker uses her grappling hook to zip around the stage and grab onto opponents, which she van follow up with her sniper.]
  • Sakura \ D.Va [Young woman who are extremely popular with the fanbase. Plus Sakura got a very streamer inspired redesign in SF5. D.Va is pretty weak in regular gameplay but can build up meter to summon her mech.]
  • Birdie \ Roadhog [Large criminals who use chains. Roadhog is a big damage fighter, he has plenty of attacks with his chain. He can burn meter to inhale gas, powering himself up into a rage-like state.]
  • Urien \ Symmetra [Tall people who's powers allow them to create light constructs. Symmetra can shoot out beams and balls of energy, and barriers that block projectiles. She can also teleport.]
  • Sean \ Lúcio [Sporty brazilian fighters. Lúcio skates sketch the stage and CNA use sonic sound to stun his opponents.]
  • Kimberly \ Kiriko [Young ninja women who are more recent additions to their franchises. Kiriko throws out Kunai, which can be used as regular projectiles or can be used to teleport in order to get closer to her opponent. She can burn meter to summon her fox spirit to heal herself and her opponent.]
  • Juri \ Sombra [Sadistic women whose bodies are enhanced with technology in some way. Sombra can "hack" her opponents, which may allow to drain their meter or poison them, draining their health.]
  • Marisa \ Junker Queen [Big buff ladies who like to fight and prove themselves. Junker Queen mainly attacks with her axe, which she can throw around and slash with, and slam down.]
  • Vega \ Genji [Masked assassins. Genji is a quick fighter who is all about dashingw in quick and slashing. He's a good assist.]
  • Akuma / Reaper [Dark and broody characters with a connection to the heroes. Reaper can teleport around his opponent using darkness and can turn into an ethereal figure to go through his opponent, which he can follow up with an attack. He can also spend meter in order to enter a state where he steals opponents health.
  • Sagat \ Doomfist [Big strong traveling fighters who want to be stronger. Doomfist is all about his titular fist. He can slam it on the ground to make shockwaves and can send his opponents up into the air.]
  • M. Bison \ Sigma [Powerful villains who have a mysterious power. Sigma uses his orbs to control the stage and can bring his opponent closer to himself to.follow it up with attacks.]

Loved how it reminded me of that huge Melee roster from the pre-brawl days. Also really like the idea of Pyramid Head Bomber for some reason.

Honestly, there's a ton of fun picks here. ssbashworld's point on Pyramid Head Bomber is a great one, but things like Geese being the sole SNK rep, Dan as Ryu's echo, a playable Bullet Bill (what!) and the inclusion of some genuinely pretty fun pulls like Ravio and Aran Ryan lends to it being pretty neat. Looks fun!

I've been wanting to do a Smash fangame roster for a while, and always struck with trouble on how to implement 4Ps, since that's really a major part of the concept's appeal over just making a fake Ult sequel - and particularly one of those has been "do I include Rocko or SpongeBob?", but seeing that kind of 4P bias pick in a roster ended up working REALLY well - like Madagascar cop just inexplicably fits - so yeah, I'm gonna be putting in Rocko if I do this lmao

Smash fangame roster
NO veterans, emphasis on characters that Smash would not typically go for (so some characters I did want, like Aloy and Waluigi, were scrapped for seeming very likely), but some picks I'm not super enthusiastic about but just think Make Sense or fill out a basic archetype. Would have a 50 character roster, not my style but these games tend to go on for REALLY long. Mentality is "bias first, but not only"

Super Smash Bros for Gameboy! (Yes, I know there's no way a gameboy game would have that many playable characters. Don't spoil my fun.)

Mario
Luigi
Princess (look, the game is in black and white. It doesn't matter if she's Peach or Daisy)
Yoshi
Tatanga
Donkey Kong
Pauline
Diddy Kong
Wario
Captain Syrup
Pikachu
Squirtle
Bulbasaur
Charizard
Mewtwo
Link
Marin
Samus
Pit
Kirby

and for our guest roster....

Billy Lee
Belmont (kinda the same deal with Princess. Doesn't matter what guy he really is. He's BELMONT)
Contra Guy! (Bill Rizer? Lance Bean? Maddog? Scorpion? Who even knows!?)
Bomberman
Megaman

Ysee I think theyd definitely put the ex games in fighting collection 3, they need some sort of main highlight, like how 1 had Darkstalkers and 2 had CvSNK

if they deemed CvSNK not big enough to warrant its own release I think theyd deem the ex games not big enough to warrant a seperate release

Considering Arika owns like a good half of the sub-series (original characters, source codes)

That's probably why SvC Chaos got a separate release (It was SNK-developed), but maybe i'm wrong?
