I'm not saying id be a clone because of characters. But more due to time and ability. Why add 2 new, original Xenoblade reps, when you could have Shulk and Issac. I mean, I feel the best hope for a second rep is the Roy situation. Really, we don't know how Shulk plays yet, so who knows.
The way I see it, is that we either get two unique Xenoblade reps or we get only Shulk. I'd honestly prefer the latter instead of a clone, because that really doesn't do justice to the Xenoblade cast imo.

What makes a rep from X better is that due to the customization of characters in that game, they could go for a unique fighter. It would also produce massive hype for X.

If we got 'Avatar' (does that guy have a default name), it would be pretty interesting. If we did though, I think avatar characters would become the new sword users.
They could use a currently unreleased track from X at the start of the trailer, then switch over to a Xenoblade track once Shulk shows up. That would be one way to really throw us off.
I would really like some kind of fakeout trailer. where it starts by looking like an explanation to what the hell Shulk was doing at the end of the X trailer, only for it to actually be a smash reveal, and have the shulk in X after.
I wonder if X will come with a soundtrack like the original did. Also, is anyone else finding it hard to come up with an abbreviation for Xenoblade when talking about X

I don't think Smash will have the masterpieces again, but if they do I highly, highly doubt that Xenoblade will get featured. While I agree t'd be a nice marketing tactic for the game and its upcoming sequel, I think there's too much of Xenoblade to cram into one 5-minute (at the most, I assume) segment. Although the Wii U's disc size is considerably larger than the Wii's, it's unlikely they'd spend a lot of space for a Xenoblade demo.
My mom works for Sakuai, she did some questionable stuff with him to get Shulk in the game.
