Here we go... My longest post.

Shulk in Smash 4:

Symbol: Either a Monado, similar to the one in the OP or the X from the new game's logo

Entrance: Jumps in this fashion, landing with his back to the front and does a slight turn (shown in video. Also I'm not really sure what entrance would be best.)

MASSIVE SPOILERS- Shown at about 2:43

Colors: Each one based on a different party member. I took this from a random site although it may have been posted here as well.

Victory music: Secret Area

Top Stage Picks: Prison Island with Metal Face as a boss
Traveling Junks Stage
...Everywhere:troll:

Music picks:
Engage the Enemy
You Will Know Our Names
One who gets in our way
Medley of various area themes
Mechanical Rhythm
Realistically most of the game's tracks

Tagline:
Shulk engages the enemy
Shulk changes the future
Shulk envisions the battle

Victory quotes:
The future is not yours to control (future doesn't belong to you)
Piece of Cake
Something about friends
Something about destiny
Behold the power of the Monado

Taunt quotes
We can definitely do this
Monado lend us your power
We haven't lost yet
Nothings gonna stop me

Status: Unlockable

Actual Moveset
A-Sword slash similar to Shulk's auto attack
AA-Sword slash similar to Shulk's double auto attack
A jab- Third slash which hits opponent slightly upward

Other A's- Different sword swings... I'm not so good with these

Specials (Naturally Shulk must announce the name of his attacks)

Neutral B - Monado Buster (can be charged. Sword reaches farther based on charge.)

Forward B - Monado Cyclone (can be charged. Charge determines how far the attack will land from Shulk. Only location is altered, not size. Looks similar to the Xenoblade version. If opponent is inflicted with break then this move will cause them to trip or topple.

Down B - Monado Eater (Pulls characters toward Shulk. Only works in forward direction. Also inflicts bleed which works similar to the lip flowers.)

Up B - Monado Purge
(Jumps and Swings word which emits a green wave. Chance of inflicting aura seal which can negate specials? ...Sounds cool but too broken. Maybe instead it can inflict break even though that isn't true to the game.)

side smash - Back slash - jumps forward slightly- does more damage to rear of characters
up smash- Air slash - jumps, swings sword upward and emits a small wave just a tad farther. Inflicts break.
Down smash - Shaker edge - not true to game since this will attack in both directions, forward then back - can daze characters who are toppled resulting in an effect similar to DKs side B but slightly better.

Also, the break topple bleed and daze icons appear above characters to indicate their status.

Kirby hat - Shulks hair with mini monado. Kirby uses Monado Buster and shouts it in the kirby voice.

Final Smash - Vision - Shulk says I see it - then the screen fades in that white color and comes back with the blue hint from Xenoblade during the vision sequences. The other characters appear on screen and can move freely for a few seconds. Afterwards, the vision ends and Shulk says this is the true power of the Monado. Shulk has Monado Speed and Armor which make him quicker and invincible. Also, Enchant which somehow makes him more powerful against everyone. The characters reenact their movements while Shulk is free to attack. In addition, the vision meter can appear on the top of the screen and then shatter after Shulk KOs someone for a nice touch.

*I forgot who suggested this final smash concept first, but please let me know and I will put your name here. Visions are a must for me in smash as they are a crucial aspect of Xenoblade. A chain attack final smash would also work well where multiple party characters appear and do some of their signature moves - Lariet - Blossom Dance - Final Cross - Mind Blast - etc

***This was far more difficult than I thought it would be but I guess this is why I put off an attempt for so long. I really like the concept of a move set focusing on the break combo or the status ailments from Xenoblade. I'm also a big fan of the leveling and talent gauge move sets that many of you have constructed. It just goes to show how many directions Shulk can go in and how truly unique he is. Next I'll probably make up a trailer for his reveal.

Ok, he replied to me about the Nintendo Direct July 22, and he said
"It was posted on Nintendo's official Twitter. I've also heard that it was on Facebook, too. But then it was removed on both sites. I managed to post the image on this thread. However, I have no idea why Nintendo removed it from their social media pages. I know I'm not the only one who saw this on the official Nintendo social media pages, so this isn't something that's a fake. But there is definitely something very fishy about all of this."
So yea, it's real.

*looks at page number* so I take it people like Shulk
But seriously if Shulk makes it in would you wrather have him be secret, or announced before launch?
Announced before launch. I want to see a glorious Shulk trailer before the game releases!

Hmm, I could see it being put up before they were ready to announce it. Since most Nintendo Directs are announced only a day before they air. I'm still operating under the assumption we're getting four more newcomers...Maybe Sakurai will give all these characters trailers. I know he said they're nearing the bottom of the stash of newcomer videos, but that's so vague it could mean anything. Maybe one more this month, two in August and one right before the game's release in September...or this could be fake and I spend way too much time trying to analyze this. But still c'mon Shulk!

Just to throw my two cents in on the graphics discussion going on here, the YouTube channel Extra Credits has a video pretty much covering all the issues with the current obsession over graphical fidelity.
This is so true.
It's also the reason why I think that Mario Kart 8 or even Xenoblade or Okami and much more games look way prettier than any PS4/One game this gen. I just think that not just the game selection of those consoles is crap atm, but also that the aestethics are way too underated for most of the exclusives of those consoles. So much wasted potential *sigh*. Doesn't really make me interested in buying a PS4 till 2020 or so when all the JRPGs come to that console. I don't want to start a console war argument here now though, so I'll stop complaining now.

A lot of Snes games look better than PS4 games Imo, because they just age a lot better. A link to the past will still look good in 20 years, but pretty much all photo-realistic games will look really outdated.

Okay so what's this about a leak? Guy said Ridley, K Rool and Shulk will be playable, but then also says Bandana Dee will be revealed at SDCC? Is there anything elese to this leak and why should we believe it?

Shulk, Bandana Dee, and King K. Rool? YOU'RE KILLING ME LEAKER!
I wouldn't put any stock into any leaks as of now. I would start to believe it if we see Bandana Dee get revealed. Then again, I doubt that we'll get a character here since apparently a super-hyped audience at a tournament at E3 wasn't good enough for a Pac-Man reveal.

Both the Miahstorm leak and the burst pipe leak mention Meta Knight and Bandana Dee being shown in the same trailer, but only Miah has Bandana dee playable and straight out says he will show up at Comic Con.

However, Burst pipe says Shulk will show up with them

Burst Pipe:
Only two newcomer videos remain. Shulk and Takamaru will be revealed in one. Dixie and Marshal in the other. Ganondorf and Meta Knight are revealed in the Shulk trailer, while Lucas and Ice Climbers are revealed in the Dixie trailer. No other veterans will show in the newcomer trailers to come, although Waddle Dee (with blue bandana) is given a weird moment in the former trailer, despite not being a playable character.

I don't really expect anything to happen at Comic Con. These two leaks probably built off of each other. Plus the few surprises during the treehouse with smash were simply more competitive players, so the precedent isn't exactly there.

Fake. These trailers sound like complete cluster f***s. Also, two newcomers from different series haven't been revealed in the same trailer yet, so why now? And as someone said why would they skip out on showing Pac Man during the invitational but yet reveal a newcomer during a much smaller tournament.

I honestly don't think Takamaru will be playable, and I honestly can't see Sakurai putting two newcomers from different series in the same challenger announcement video.

Even though Shulk's chance score dropped a tad on RTC, its very satisfying to see his want score increase.

I'm just really happy that his chance score didn't drop TOO much, even though most people think that Gematsu is dead. Shows that everyone is realistic at least.

I don't actually see any real competition for our bronado Shulk, he almost feels like a shoo-in at this point.

I don't care too much for his chance score since I knew it would drop, but it was oh-so satisfying when his want score increased passed the 80% barrier!
MONADO MONDAY HYPE WILL NEVER DIE!

Even without the leak, Shulk is still highly likely. He doesn't need the leak to be playable. The loss of the Gematsu leak didn't cut deep enough for Shulk.

I think that Takamaru has a chance at least. Though, I don't think that he's going to be playable. If there was a designated retro rep, Little Mac might have been that character...
But that's for a discussion in a different thread!

Exactly. I don't understand why some people think that Shulk's only chance was the Gematsu leak, it just doesn't make any sense to me.

Knack is a game with good aestethics.

Thi...this sounds terrible.

Buuuut well, good luck guys! I'm pretty sure Shulk is playable, I even gave him a 100% in chances in the Rate their Chances thread :D

They believe that the future belongs to Gematsu.

BUT THE FUTURE DOESN'T BELONG TO THEM!

The Gematsu slaying sword.

I wonder how much time was put into the the locations of Xenoblade? They all are so memorable.

Almost an hour witbout a post? Shulk not in Smash generic anime swordsman confirmed.

Good to see though even without the Gematsu leak people still se Shulk as very likely.

And as others have said wait until tomorrow to see if the Direct is fake. And even if it is real and NA only like some have suggested, then no new reveal. If it's worldwide, then #TelphiaTuesday

Actually on-topic this time, if we got another playable character from Xenoblade, besides Shulk (I'm not saying this will happen, but it would be amazing) who would you want it to be? I personally think Melia would be a unique and fun fighter.
Melia, definitively.

Summon three elements (the basic ones, Flare, Bolt and Aqua) to buff herself by Neutral Special, debuff herself with a Side Special that attacks with the elements by order they are summoned.
Custom movesets allow you to change the elements in Neutral Special (Ice, Earth, Wind, Copy)
Starlight Kick as Up Special, with a strong Meteor Smash effect. Reflection as Down Special, both counter and reflector. Starts as a counter and if you keep B button pressed, it'll work as a reflector.
Brust Aura mechanic to make her elementary attacks stronger about high percentages.

Down smash is Shadow Stitch with a paralizing effect as Zamus dsmah. Mind Blast a Side smash, cancels foes attacks during Brust Aura. Spear Break as Up smash with a nice combo with Startlight Kick.

So, guys. I've been thinking lately...what if by some chance Shulk is a assist trophy, or worse, not in SSB4? I'm not trying to be a downer, but it is a possibility we can't ignore. How would you guys feel about that? What do you think Sakurai's reasoning would be for not having Shulk be playable?

Him being an assist trophy wouldn't really make too much sense considering that Sakurai seems to be a Xenoblade fan.
