Has this happened to you? (brawl is not cool apparently)

so i went to the mall and a couple of friends went with me, getting their drank on, and their smoke on, they bought some stuff and i was like "hey lets go to eb, i wanna check out some games "

so we go and we arrive at eb, im checking out the games, they go and they start playing madden(they love it), and then i see a preview of smash bros brawl on the tvs they got and i say "i cant wait till that comes out"

my friends drop their controls and slowly look at themselves and then at me...they gave me this cold stair and one of em said "yo, what the **** man, are you gay or something?"

i just looked back and said "no dude, its a fun game...seriously"

then my other friend replied "i dont know man...that **** is kinda suspect...that games looks mad gay"

i was like "whatever man"

eventually we leave and go back, but the car ride was awful, it was dead silent, i was gonna put on the radio but one of my friends just looked at me and shook his head and said "no..."

so i left the radio off and rode off into a 30 minute awkward silence before dropping my friends off

i couldnt help but wonder...does playing smash bros. make you a LAME?

Maybe it had something to do with that statement. I agree though, a lot of my friends treated Melee as lame compared to Madden. However, they understand my love for videogames, so I just know not to play those types of games with them. Maybe you need some gaming friends too?

NO! My whole group of friends and including my school practically grew up with all nintendo games. When Nintendo 64 came out AUZ went mad for it. SO everyone loves playing smash and mario kart. woah wait. I've met people who play madden and are totally cool. I play it myself from time to time (well once lol...). And it's a pretty simplistic game technical wise. It's really just choosing the right plays and following through with them...

Why all the hate on sports players? I know people who play sports and smash bros.... I'd play on a sports team if I didn't already have so much stuff to do after school.

I also find it ironic that the majority of the smash community doesn't really fit into the stereotypical nerd.

My friends have brought up Brawl a few times, like:

"I can't wait for the new Super Smash bros to come out"

Though yeah, the type of games we like differs a lot, but it's safe to say we all love SSB. A few of us play Madden (including me) as well. Types of games shouldn't create awkward silences.

It sounds like your friends are a trifle bit shallow minded.

People call people gay most of the time because of "Social Pressure". Social Pressure basically means that that said person has a one track mind and followed the bigger group of acceptance in bigger group to make their ego feel more comfortable. When something comes up and they may find it cool, if it strikes the bigger picture wrong in the slightest, the only think that person can do is to correct their blight and cast anger, or misconception to slither their way back into the bigger group.

(MOST) Xbox 360 owners and (MOST) FPS addicts suffer from this the most.

Don't tell me I'm wrong, think about it, when someone calls you gay for playing Okami, odds are that kid plays Halo 3 and thinks its a gift from God. Right?
