if u want to dash dance with any sort of effectiveness u have to the long slow one, where u hit the stick and let go and she does a longer foxtrot type dash, but its still considered an inital dash cuz u can anytime dash the other way or pivot.

i actually find this better for evasion than starting a run cuz when she runs she gets flat across the ground and she can still get hit in the feet, with this foxtrot she kinda scoots her lower body forward quickly and gets out the way of say a tipper or a chasing nair.

the problem is u can only run backwards or pivot back instantly, not forward ( this is like the opposite of brawl, where the forward fox trot is repeated quicker), one solution is to do a super quick dash dance from this position back then forward to continue in the same direction, but i find a wavedash forward to be the quickest way to move forward out of a fox trot and reset your position for another fox trot.

just running into wavedashes is usually the most movement sheik uses but its always good to have all the extra options that effective dash dance +pivots give u.

i agree dash dancing is hard to learn to use with sheik cuz it has some weird timing compared to marths, its still pretty solid though i think

Well I ment when you run towards the edge and up B so that you fly off the stage to kill some start up lag. Sorry for not being specific with my post.

But that sounds possible also. But you'll need to perfect your spacing with the up B to actually acomplish it.

You don't need to hold down on both sticks.
If you're not holding a direction on the c-stick the regular stick will do the ASDI
so holding down on both sticks is exactly the same as just holding down on the regular stick.

edit: if you're talking about di and crouch canceling LOL
i assumed so b/c off "cc ftw"

edit2: i realized you guys where talking about cc-countering with dsmash LOL
conclusion: ignore this

u can edgecancel the upb? as in the landing lag? i thought that was almost impossible
yes, its almost impossible. i found one place where it works
run off a lower platform on battlefield, immediately jump and then up+b, float up/forward with your up+b and then up+b FORWARD. should cancel on the opposite platform's far edge

did i make that complicated enough?
