Some good Falco play by someone named "Kato". More proof that Falco is the best at phasing through projectiles (Warning: Absolutely dreadful, nails-on-chalkboard commentary. I suggest muting it and putting on some Final Fantasy boss music):

Oh, that thread... I don't go there often, but I know people are supposed to put up videos there, but videos end up getting posted in their character boards or elsewhere if it's general info like foxtrotting.

Actually, wait. Is it ok if I quote or repost my reply from 2 pages ago? One person liked it, but no one said anything about it. And it was one of the only highlight/combo videos of falco on youtube at the time.

You own the videos, so I don't see an issue with you reposting it here.

Edit: Requested by @ pawclaw pawclaw because he did not have the minimum post counts at the time to post links.
I've been maining falco for a long time only on Smash 4 . I have a few matches of me playing falco on a youtube channel called 8wayrun , at a tournament called 8 on the break. But here is my recent highlight video that I'm pretty proud of. You'll see

-laser applications. (Oh my goodness, someone actually using lasers for more than harrassment and camping?)
-jab lock resets
-spike setups
-jab mixups

Also, here's matches I had from 8onthebreak.

Me vs BigBoss (Ike) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQktIelaG8E
Me vs Dr.Blunch(Falcon) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMGjtGAvUgA
Me vs Dr.Blunch(Falcon) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNfy2coeStM
Me vs Chaos (Bowser) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv3QKW98ic4

Don't know if this was posted here already, but here is my set at APEX:

Me vs Sky (Yoshi) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IsORfYxCSM

I stream very often, and, if there is enough interest, can post full matches from my stream on my youtube channel from this point on. Pawclawshow is my youtube channel and twitch channel. I've been experimenting with customs since EVO ruleset currently allows it. Same channel that @ Ffamran Ffamran just posted videos from. Let me know what you guys think of my laser play and my playstyle. Harsh criticism is welcome.

Just my 2 cents. Working on your offstage game might be a good idea. You had sooo many moments were you could have killed bowser with a Fair instead of a Dair.
When your opponent is hanging on the ledge try to not charge a Fsmash since it can be punished.
Usage of lazers should be less.
Being more patient is also a good idea. When your trying to get back onto the stage your using phantasms a little too early or rolling back onto the stage as soon as you grab the ledge which can gets you punished.

Naturally I have great offstage game with all my characters, but yeah, against him and his particular character, I had no idea what to do against bowser offstage. Having watched it a few times before, at this point yeah against bowser it isn't really much. Overall I needed to be safer against bowser. And I need to incorporate forward air into my options more often. I usually charge forward smash because it is usually a safe call, depending on the shield pushback it does. At the time, I was very confident in my reads so I threw out the forward smash punish attempts when my opponent was about to get up from the ledge. Yeah, I probably took phantasm for granted and did it too early, and yeah I could be safer on my ledge options.

Plot twist : My Opponent told me afterwards that he also plays falco, so he said he knew a lot of my options and things I would do. Thought that was funny.

I don't think this was ever posted, Spade's Captain Falcon and Falco vs. Phuzix's Sheik: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzgiGlMibr4. From the video, it's mentioned that at the time, Spade just go into competitive Smash about 3 months ago from January. So, a lot of rookie mistakes, I guess.

A For Glory match of Bubba's Falco vs. dany's Triple D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVtuxnVzHx4. Bubba uses a lot of RAR Bairs.

I don't know who these people are... Grigs's Falco vs. Quivexo's Wii Fit Trainer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUcdIBB5OQQ.

Ditto the above. Way back from November 2014, Anarchy Galaxy's Falco vs. Atomsk's Fox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6knpHsJ5ibU.

TLS JAAZ's Falco vs. TLS CMK's Captain Falcon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Zluk1G-In4. Wait... @ Snipnigth Snipnigth , is this you?

There's 6 of them total... Just go to his channel to check out his matches.

Beetu's Falco vs. Max's Captain Falcon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCMhmnXnQ0k.

More Japanese gameplay from 590kazu, Falco vs. Fox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUnrWtVoImA. I think Okami music is being played. If so, then sweet.

Falco vs Dark Pit or Black Pit in Japan - I believe it's Kuro Pit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk0X5PJwe8U.

Also from 590kazu, it's Ness vs. Charizard/Lizardon for the first match and then some Falco dittos shenanigans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnJjgqt69oA.

C-LAN 2015? I never heard of it, but whatever, Purfect Roony's Ness and Falco vs Ian's ROB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Daia0z2QdrE.

This Falco play is so beautiful, I watched the video three times in one setting. It's Pon's For Glory session and the Falco he fights shows up at 5:17, but really, you should watch the whole thing.

Whoa! @ Baskerville Baskerville , terminalkai has a lot of Falco videos. The "Falco" icon is suspicious - very suspicious indeed.

A ditto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRTRysfix3Y.

vs. Roy the Koopaling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR7LR84_8sU.

vs. Lucina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh_awzWq7Kc.

vs. Triple D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc3pjURdUB0.

3DS videos below and they're old so be aware that it might be an older version of the game like where Fair spiking used to exist.

vs. Little Mac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFkyMpURod4.

vs. Pink Hoodie Mac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxG9kBWT0Wc.

I got some recent footage of my Falco recently as well which is from a local tourney. They can be some foul language in these vids more than likely from me lol so viewer discretion is advised.

I only used Falco in the first game then switch to my Robin and Lucina later on in the match for 2nd and 3rd game so that I can avoid being downloaded and read my opponent.

I only used Falco for game 2 which is around the 3:25 mark and outside of that I used Samus and Robin.

@ Gamegenie222 Gamegenie222 , @ Baskerville Baskerville , and future posters, it's better to link videos rather than embed them since linking doesn't cause the page to load slowly and it might prevent a page crash for some people. Once in a while is fine, but about 3 embedded videos and the page starts to lag. Just a little heads up.

Hmm... Even though it's not said in the title - I could change it -, critiquing is welcome along with pointing out your own mistakes and studying other plays. It's a reason why videos are here.

Anyway, @ Locuan Locuan , wow, Lylat Cruise's angles are annoying... Anyway, it's your first time, but don't use Reflector unless you know it's going to hit. I find it easier to use if I know someone's rushing in, like if that Link decided it was a great idea to Dash Attack, then Reflector can stop that, but throwing it out while Link's just standing there is dangerous, especially if you mis-space it. One thing you could do to make it safer is Ftilt to Reflector. Ftilt gives enough hit stun and knockback that Reflector can just add onto.

More Utilts would be nice since it's fast and combos along with launching. Same with Dtilt and Down Smash which you could use as an OOS move - it's probably Falco's best OOS move since it covers both sides, is fast - same speed as Dtilt -, strong, and can kill. Blaster's iffy, you might want to use one to two shots far away or in the air first to cover instead of standing and shooting.

Recovery, well, I stick with Fire Bird for vertical recoveries and use Falco Phantasm for most recoveries. Falco Phantasm travels half of FD while Fire Bird travels about 1/3 of it. It's mostly learning how the move works, so if anything, use Fire Bird later and save Falco's second jump since he can just recover with that alone.

Nair and Uair are all right to cover Falco while he's in the air along with Fair, especially if someone doesn't know it can hit while landing and because Fair, especially the landing hit, is disjointed. Dair can cover Falco while he's descending, but it's difficult. As for Bair, RAR Bair would be great, but people are still working on it. In a way, it can still be used as a sex kick, but more of a pseudo-sex kick since it lacks a front hitbox like in Melee and Brawl.

Falco also works well with feints like short hop fast falls or just short hops back or forth to mess with people. You could jump forward and drift back with the second jump to feint an approach. Falco's jump pretty much makes it difficult for people to catch him since unless you're playing as Shulk, few people can catch him in the air and quickly from the ground. It's made worse since someone people can't even catch him with their Up Special because either their Up Special has no hitbox like Pit or Villager's or combined with their jump heights, they can't reach at all without risking helpless states - one customs match had a DK abuse the tree in the Duck Hunt stage against a Little Mac who couldn't even get up to the branch with both his jumps.

Edit: Kato's Falco and Bowser vs. Nomad's Peach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlWhNKB3UXI.

So, I'm having a bit of fun with Falco. Only a bit.

Yes, have fun. Falco and fun go well with each other... Well, actually fun and everyone goes well together. :)

Interesting. The laser might be able to set up Dairs since it stalls people because of hit stun - lasers can gimp people if it hits when they use their second jump or just to cause them to lose momentum. That said, it might not be reliable and it's going to be difficult to hit with since it's a thin projectile.

I do use lasers, reading if they'll use their jump offstage and on stage or when they're trying to approach. I don't use it for anything else other than zoning.
