1.What is your handwriting like?
2.How do you hold your pen or pencil
3. Do you use a pen,pencil,mechanical pencil,or etc

Mine is very large and sloppy and is very thick. This comes from the fact when I write I like to press hard on my pencil. Its also very hard to read for most people including me because some of my letters are weird. Something else with my handwriting is instead of holding my pencil in the air. I prefer to rest it on my hand.
I also have a habit of writing and not looking. I can do that pretty well sometimes I mess up and write crossing the lines but that is rare. I've heard handwriting can be used to see what kind of personality you have and in my case this holds true.

Anyways describe your writing habits.

My handwriting was amazing, seriously.
Each letter was evenly spaced, capital letters hit the top line, small letters were exactly half the size of capitals, and each letter was joined.
However, it took me around 2 minutes to write one line, so I had to start writing more quickly and rough. I can still write extremely neat if I have the time, and not in a rush to write it down.

Yeah same with me
but when you have 20 minutes to write a whole essay.
What do you expect you've going to have make some sacrifices

No Internet?!?
We need photos for this, when I get hold of my camera tomorrow I'll upload one.

I use whatever letter is faster to write when I'm writing. So for example, my B's and R's are always capital, but they're written smaller than normal capitals. Also, due to the fact that no one teaches you how to hold your pencil properly, I held mine the same way until I was about 10 or 11 when people pointed out I held my pencil weird, but instead of having to teach myself how to write all over again, I just continued to hold it like that. It only caused me problems late into high school in English.

Cursive was a lie

I mean seriously in elementary school teachers told you.
"You have to learn cursive you use it all the time in middle school.
And then you go to middle school and you never use it.

I mean literally cursive has got to be one of the biggest time wasters ever.
That and art classes and music class.

I tried to take a picture of my handwriting but its not showing sharp enough

I used to have a pretty nice calligraphy, but when I started to write really fast, it became awful. Now I can write quickly, but it looks bad >_<

I agree with this.

That and art classes
I resent this.

In art classes, you actually learn useful techniques if you're interested in drawing or painting or whatever else. Cursive is just a fancier way of doing something you already know how to do.

Well if you ever heard the idea that the right side of the brain handles all the intellitial stuff and the left side handles the creative stuff.

I am not a very left sided person.
Things like the art are things I am not very good at.

Art class I hated because I never got it
and music class I hated because I learn all these things I could care less about.
and when I went to band, music class became unnecessary because everything I needed to learn I learned in band.

That's understandable. Art and music classes are pointless for people who aren't interested in those subjects, but cursive is pointless for everyone. Even if you like writing, you don't need to be good at cursive. Hell, all you really need to be able to do is type.

But you don't consider "Band" a music class?

Also, toon-marth is right. You'd be more left-brained, friend.

So agreed with. Then they fed the same crap in middle school here. You'll use it all the time in High School. Never did. Never will. We use computers now.

Anyways, I write like a monkey is slapping a piece of paper repeatedly. Even I have trouble reading it sometimes >.>

I am pretty messy. I often don't dot my i's, and my o's look like e's and vice versa. My L's can be confused with i's and when I am taking notes, I often leave out some vowels and small words so I can write the notes down more quickly. The size of each of my characters also varies. I am not bound by the lines on the paper (I hardly pay attention to those lines lol), so my words are not always lined up. Sometimes they curve up to three lines down. Usually people cannot read what I write. Sometimes I cannot read what I write. I have a bad habit of constantly scribbling on my paper to test the pen.

When I write, my hand is basically a fist, except the index and middle fingers protrudes a tiny bit. The pen rests just beneath the first knuckle. My thumb does not curve around the pencil. It sticks out straight under the index finger.

^^ well technically you only need to learn the cursive letters that form your name so you can put your signature on a check or something. I still don't know how write certain letters in cursive. Z for example. I just forgot how. It's like in Billy Madison where he just scribbles on the chalkboard.

I think I have good handwriting. It used to be awful, but I practiced it a lot whenever I was bored in class to get it better, and I'm finally happy with it. Only downside is that I write slower now

edit: I could have shown them how to write a cursive L. It's the first letter of my last name so I do it all the time :p

second edit: here's a picture of it

That's my regular writing.

I write very messily. Seriously, people have a HARD time reading my writing. They say it looks like hieroglyphics. This may be because I like to press down hard when I'm writing, and I'm also a lazy writer: my e's sometimes look like l's, and I'm too lazy to erase it and re-write it.

2 years ago I started training my left hand to get better at basketball. Eventually it surpassed my right hand in terms of coordination.
I used to have sloppy handwriting, but now that I'm ambidextrous, it's very mechanical and I can actually write faster too.

I write in standard print. I never bothered making a fancy, impressive looking signature, so when I sign, it's just in standard cursive.

I don't sharpen pencils unless they need it. I use a pencil to the very end, all my pencils are unreasonably dull, making my hand writing light and thick.

Puny. Very very puny handwriting. I only use mechanical pencils, so its a fine, tiny little thing. It works out for me school-wise too.

I used to write in cursive only, until several people told me that they couldn't read my writing. So I switched to print, but my print is almost as bad as my cursive. My handwriting all around is really bad.

Here's an example from a story I was working on:

Since my print is so neat, all my friends say I write like a girl -_-. I have no way to upload a picture of it right now. It's print, but apparently it's a little bubbly. My teacher said it should be a computer font =]

Jam's writing is pretty neat. I have different styles of writing, depending if I need to write fast / if I need to make an attempt to write legibly (marked papers). Most people can't read my note writing, I sometimes can't read my own but usually I can decipher what I wrote =\

I haven't wrote on paper for three weeks because I always type stuff on the computer. Of course my handwriting is bad because I don't use the same writing methods like a lot of people use, my hands are always on the paper, which is bad for your fingers if you write a lot of notes on your notebook. I'll say this, having handwriting good as a grade requirement was very hard for me in elementary school.

I write small, which is good when you have to put fractions and integrals on one line of notebook paper. It's not exactly neat, but it's legible. I also take good notes because I write fast, dechipherable shorthand.

Regarding cursive:

While I was in the 3rd grade, I remember thinking cursive was awesome and I'd write my homework in it. My teacher told my I wasn't allowed to use cursive yet, though, and by the time we started covering it in class, I had lost interest in it and I actually forgot how to write in cursive shortly thereafter.

My handwriting was very nice during high school, but I always wrote in a really slow and inefficient way. I have since started writing more quickly, but my handwriting is a mess nowadays.

I write in cursive because I write faster like that. I really like that feeling of writing one word in one long, continuous stroke. Constantly lifting up and pressing down a pen for each individual letter just seems like a waste of time to me. I know, not very much time, but enough for it to bother me.

Also, I was known in high school for having ridiculously messy writing. People with messy writing would look at mine and say "dayum, that's some messy writing".

Mine is sloppy sometimes, some days my hand just isn't that coordinated with writing. But its usually not too bad. Its usually kindof loopy and sort of a cross between cursive and regular. I hold my pencil pretty close to the tip, just a normal grip though. But I mess up my letters a lot so sometimes I have to erase, for that reason I only use a pen when I really have to.
