One more thing what characters are allowed for the low-tier tourney? I copied and pasted the final tier list below.

I personally think Link should be bottom of Mid tier instead of top of Low tier. Cause nobody else under him even comes close to competing with him, but it's up to the TO in the end.

Low
Link 4.7
Pikachu 4.3
Young Link 4.2
Roy 3.6
Zelda 3.0
Game and Watch 3.0

Bottom
Ness 2.5
Yoshi 2.5
Bowser 2.2
Mewtwo 1.8
Kirby 1.5
Pichu 1.2
I copy and pasted the official ssb64 rules from the ssb64 boards so I'm guessing those will work right?
yeah that's perfect

Smashwiki is always wrong, don't rely on it for anything.

The above rules are ridiculous. 10 minute time limit for 64 LOL. WTF is up with that Ness counterpick ****. And you are allowed to go back to the same stage if either,
1. You haven't won on it yet
or
2. If you have won, if your opponent agrees to play on it again you can pick it
lawl, that's what i get for not reading too clearly...the time limit is ridiculous and stage picking is unclear

but the Ness on saffron city rule makes sense, since there is no walltech in 64 and it would be incredibly easy to repeatedly gimp him on the right side of the stage, between the tower and the center building..... :ohwell:

either way, thanks for setting us straight! :)

also, about the low-tier character list...shouldn't we just ask whether people want to place link in bottom tier or not?

I'm not even sure if there would be enough time to do crews and also do low tiers too.

Idk, if anyone feels really strongly about Link being legal in Low Tiers than I'll take him out I guess....

Also I need to stress this more, if you want to have your own setups for GG and SSB64 then BRING MORE TVS.

probably on a platform
macd's zelda???

and before considering making these monthlies based on turnout, see how well the money situation and everything works first, it sounds like it might just end up being a pain in the ***, but we'll see

that's very true.......

we're optimistic though that it won't be a very big deal...just means that mms are a major pain in the *** though, and that tournament signups, payment, and stuff can just be done outside. -_-

I trust stab to make sure that we don't have any venue problems, LOOL

Any of you guys want to play some Smash64 this week before the tournament on Friday? I would like to be able to practice with other people besides my doubles partner.

really quick what is the interest level for ssb64?
i know me and ross are enthusiastic but are other people planning on entering? should be lower the entry to $3 and just make it 70/30 payout?

also does anyone wanna MM my fox/marth/falco? $2-3!

honestly, i don't like doing this most of the time because it puts no initiative on you. it's a waste of time to help people who don't really want to get better, and the only way to prove you really want to get better (assuming you still suck; get better consistently and it speaks for itself) is to do things like practice on your own (at which point improvement in your game will consistently show) or to offer money to players way better than you who may or may not sandbag against you otherwise and don't really care about your progression

if everything is handed to you then you get lazy and still end up sucking and it defeats the whole purpose

It's hard to tell what the interest for 64 is, but there's been a few other people posting here who were interested in the tournament, I'd guess somewhere between 6 and 10 entrants??? The side event entry fee is just gonna be $3 (why charge a lot, it's just for fun) and a 70/30 split on the pot sounds good.
