Attention Smashers:

The tournament is back on.

Adnan just gave me a call and told me that Matt's house is available. We're aiming to have 5 - 6 setups, and we're in need of tv's people. BRING TV'S.

All entry fee's will be $5. This tournament is definitely not the time to be aiming to win lots of money or anything. It's a mini-tourney/practice for ToS4.

Singles = $5, Doubles = $5 PER PERSON/$10 PER TEAM(this could change, but this is what it is for now) and bring an extra $1 or $2 because if we have extra time, crews will likely be arranged.

If you don't know, the address for Matt's house is 5363 Richborough drive.

Edit:

Times
-------
- Be there no earlier than 12:00 pm
- Singles pools at 1:00 pm
- Doubles at 3:00 pm
- Break at 4:00/4:30 pm
- Singles brackets 5:30/6:00
- Crews/Friendlies for whatever time is left.

Scarborough

Mike: lolololol @ you trying to hop the fence. Don't think I've played you in singles but good **** in doubles...well, at least, that's what I think. Haha.

David: lololol @ our matches. Good **** in doubles, really. I wanted to play your Sheik more after we had pools cause that's when I was playing really well. I think it was a mistake to choose to play you so early in pools. >_>

Ambrose: I enjoyed our matches. Except maybe that japes one, >_>. Help me get Fox practice! According to David, if you talk the world will blow up. Which, I kinda wanna see, but...maybe not. PS, Marco says you're an assface because you didn't pick him up. He said he wants to shove pickles up your *** or summat.

Eric: You got better. Sorry for not having a funny question and/or IRL link LOL. You're quiet, are you related to Ambrose or summat? >XD

Ryan: Sorry for being like, you know, not Bernard in teams, haha (well, I guess I kinda am with the tag and hitting you and all). I'm still kinda new to teams and haven't teamed with you before, not to mention you're a whole calibur of player higher than me, so I'm sorry if I disapointed you and held you back for winning first or summat. You're a cool guy though, and I believe I've told you this a million times (y). Good ****. Thanks for helping we get a little Fox practice, still need it though. I didn't stay for singles, but I bet you did well.

Others:

Nate: FALCO SUPREMACYYYYYYYYY. Want a rematch if you're confident, LOL. High stakes. Serious business. Good **** in teams man, really. Wanted to play against your Jiggs.

Daniel, Mario and his girlfriend: Good ****, though I don't think I played you except Daniel (homg he looks badass in the top hat). XD

Sauuuuugaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Chris: chris representin **** in dis hous yo. Didn't stay for singles, but I bet you did well, as always. I heard you beat Imadh. You're hilarious, go fu*k up Phouc for me, LOL. Good **** in teams for real yo, and I always enjoy our games with each other. Dude, you don't even have a hat. And your name is coolhat. ****ing mindgames. Borrow David's or something. You know Phil? He made a fedora hat outta duct tape, it's cool. It also gives him magic powers while playing. lol @ dead baby jokes. omg @ your bend over jokes

Dzenan: "When did you get good?"
'Last week.'
Dzenan, once again is beastly. Good games man. Shoulda played you moar, but yeah. ): At the ending or our first pools match, oh well, **** happens. Your falcon got so much better in terms of tech chase and grab game. And moonwalk game? Idk.

Imadh: wtf lol, I didn't play you at all. Oh well, good ****. Who'd you play in teams? Wanted to MM you, ):. Also, gimme fox practice as well. lol @ bend over mindgames and mindgames

Josh: roflrofl, sorry if I was kinda out of it in our games (don't let that deter you, you're good and wins are wins) , I was so stressed and stuff. lol @ some of our matches like FoD. If you want me to play seriously, maybe next time XD, sorry if that sounds like johns, if you're confident or think I'm johning, MM me, ;). Good **** though and lol @ the pizza. I'll give you some falco pointers if you want.

Matt: Thanks for hosting, and it's always nice seeing you. I didn't play you, but I prolly will soon aga4-O'-CLOCK.

Adnan: Omg, where do I start. I wanted to MM you, but I couldn't find the time, and I noticed you're short on money. I didn't play you in singles, but I'm sure we will again soon. lolol you're funny (and loud) as always. Good **** in doubles, man. And thanks for encouraging me/cheering for me and helping me keep a level head. See you soon, man.

Philip: omg you didn't come, but it was epic. I forgot what I was gonna say, but oh well. TTYL.

To anyone I missed: GGs

I understand this, but this Saturday was not the time for it. We're going to a major tournament next Saturday, and we needed all the practice we could get.

Doesn't mean there couldn't be people playing guilty gears in the same place regardless of a big tournament or not =\

Well would you like to pay to go to a tournament and there not being enough tv's for you to play because some people are playing some completely other game that doesn't matter?

I highly doubt playing any other game will make you worse at the other, they all train your reflexes the same , and if you say it does you must have really crappy muscle memory =\ after 2 years from leaving the pro cs community i can come back as if i played yesterday , same with quake and thats a completely different platform =\, so please dont tell me it "ruins" your game as its all in your head

I disagree completely Matt. You get rusty at games when you don't pick them up for a period of time, even a week can do it.
I couldn't go back to Perfect Dark 64 right this moment and be as good as I was in grade 6-9.
I couldn't go back to Wolf right now either and be as good as I was back in January when I played for 1-2 hours a day.

I'm going to have to agree with matt on this one, playing other games does not make you rusty/bad at other ones, even if they are completely different. Also, you could get back to any game and be as good as you once were, but obviously it's not going to be immediate, but at the most after 1 day of playing you should be back to normal.

cs, quake, wc3, smash, tf2, goldeneye, i have gone on hiatus for each one for quite a long time, came back and was good as i ever was (or bad when it comes to quake :( )

also playing games that are completely opposite like wc3, smash, cs, ggxxac can be played easily at the same time without losing skill in any

I also agree.

It's just that on Saturday, there wasn't really an abundance of TVs, and time is of the essence. People just wanted to practice, I guess.

What the **** are you complaining about GG not being at a SMASHFEST for.
I don't get it.
Also, although you dont lose all skill from not playing a game, you definitely wont retain all of it.
Try going back and forth between smash (which is completely different then 2d fighters.) and GG AT a tournament that you're trying to compete in smash for and tell me what happens.
