Grab Release Combos: Ness & Lucas (Still testing)

After looking at grab releases at various characters I started looking at Ness & Lucas. Praticularly the Ground Releases. They have 10 extra frames on the ground release.

The first off, the higher the percent the further ness or lucas will break away from Falco. And lucas always breaks further away from Falco than ness does. Because of that, Falco has different combos he can try.

First off and probably the most important is a possibly a guranteed 0% to 60%-70% range on them. CG > Pummel spam (ground release) > Gatling Combo. I haven't proven this exactly, but it seems very likely to work. Need a little help confirming this.

Because we have 10 frames this means Falco can use other moves inbetween then such as Ftilt, Dash Attack, Upsmash?, and Shine.

From what I have tested so far, it seems that lucas at around 70% will have a near 100% trip rate from the shine, ness I got as early as 66%, but 80% was the range that I got for a near perfect 100% trip rate.

Discuss.

I never thought of grab-release > shine (mainly because shine sucks) but if there's a good trip rate that might be a good idea.

I've always just done grab release > Ftilt, it's w/e not that great

I don't think gatling combo will connect after ~30% on ness/lucas

Gatling Combo looked promising. 4 frames before dash attack hits, means you have 6 frames to close the distance. Probably be easier on ness and needs buffering though.

well although I wasn't too sure the DA would hit after release, what I meant was that I don't think the Usmash will connect after the DA at >~30%
they get hit too far by the DA

lol.... EIDI.....

It doesn't exist. (Or at least I highly doubt it does and SCOTU agrees with me)

It's "You get lucky and break away a few frames further (which happens more at higher %'s IIRC from a grab release" so Marth cannot regrab you.

However he can tipper dsmash you, or walk really quick and grab you (but not dash, that takes to long) AFAIK.

@J4pu

Depends, I've had gatling combo work in the 50-60%'s but I forget which chars (most likely bigger chars....

Basically:

CG to whatever percent you can
Grab release them
Either Gatling Combo or up-angled Ftilt
If Ftilt > you may be able to get a laser lock

Lock them once.

Dash > Boost Pivot Grab

Grab Release
Shine \ another move that works
____

Hell, you may get away with another up-angled ftilt > laser lock one more time.....

Depends if the opponent techs. lol

except falco has a zillion frame traps to scare you into getting grabbed, like 70% of other characters out there >__>;
